Disagree great stuff for me, where are the same old suspects bullies of the forum where is Witcher? ( who does not understand the word Opinion).😀😀 -
Can you remember Danny that WTC meeting at King's Lynn when the track had loads of dirt on it god it was grippy.Even the great Gollob found it hard to ride more mistakes more excitement.

Good points.

A really interesting post and i agree with nearly all of it, myself and others get accused of living in the past with the things were always better then quote. For me Speedway certainly was better in the 60s,70s,80s it was in my humble OPINION anyway now it is a lot different.Brilliant at times but i often think if the GP series was around in those era's ( and i am not a fan of the series) god it would of been exciting.

Can only see an away win, Belle Vue a real decent side.Zagar is the key for me, a class act but at times he does not ride as an in/out No1.If he gets it together in Britain i think they can beat Poole for the league. -
Was not on a ban so get it right, can't be a... with the likes of you a surly oh look at me i am superior type.

Dont be arrogant who are you? if you are not interested in the thread read something else pretty simple really go and and find a Lakeside thread.

To be honest (multumesc) you don't have to thank us, you have opinions you are straight to the point and i like that and you do put a bit of humour in to.For me this forum did have a bit of a ganging up culture, it is going slowly i believe i hope so there are some great threads on here sometimes.

Chunky off the subject i know, did you ever see Scott Autrey and Mike Bast practice at Plough Lane.?At different times of course Autrey was it 71/72 ? Bast was going to sign i believe but it never happened it would of been a great home track for him if he had of done.

You never learn Witcher and you never will sad really, does there have to be a winner/loser in a debate?
-
I actually believe Charlie can mix it with most, the worry i have with him it takes him a ride or two sometimes to get dialled in.Really enjoy watching him ride a really decent rider even on a bad day a 100 per trier. He has come along way since 2003, when i first see him ride at Buxton when his brother was a CL star.

We all know that Ford is good at what he does and he is the benchmark that other promotions have to aim for.But let's be honest would he be as successful at say a Middlesbrough or Crewe/Barrow.If anybody new came into speedway what is the betting that Poole would be most peoples choice.Mainly because of the destination, a mini Monaco in comparison to most areas not taking nothing away from him he has done a great job for himself and Poole speedway. -
The worrying thing for me is the art of team riding it is slowly dying.I saw an incident in the Swindon v Coventry meeting Sedgeman gated was on a 5/1 with Doyley going along nicely then Doyley forced his way through and on the last lap Harris forced his way past Sedgy. We all are entitled to an opinion, and in reality you should never compare era,s the 90s era was the one i least enjoyed the late 60s 70s and 80s were my favourite eras glad i was around then to see it.

In 1979 i did about 60 plus meetings alot of NL racing Oxford/Milton Keynes but the period between 1984/ 87 i did a couple of 130 plus meetings Reading/Swindon/Oxford everyweek i enjoyed every moment of it.So every year since 1968 i have been going loved it as a young un now at times i go more on habit i don't enjoy the sport as much as i used to.But every now and again i see a great race and the memories come flooding back would i do it all again a big Yes.My greatest memory was seeing a different away team everyweek, with a star no1 and often two cracking heat leaders as well the BL was a very good product indeed.

Iris Eastbourne and that damn noisy claxon not for me, enjoyed watching Kelly,Kennett/Woods around there though.
-
Thanks "Macca don't come on here much now, still enjoy reading the posts though. As for Bill he did not have much trouble with the Abbey did he ? a great rider.Maybe once in the King's Lynn meeting when really the track was unrideable and he went home early after that year he really reached the top a lot of hard work from his debut 72 season his hard work was bearing fruit.

From the same page as you Steve, i don't come on here much now still love reading the posts though. For me in my lifetime Eastbourne/Lakeside are my least two favourite tracks both though you have to have quality to ride them.

Poole V Coventry Ela. 20/04/16
Sidney the robin replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
For me "lisa i go everyweek whatever winning or losing it is not a big deal for me never has been to see a few good races i am happy. At Poole they always seem to have a good crowd, and getting in a winning habit certainly at home i don't see the crowd dwindling. -

Not pathetic at all just an a opinion, something that you never have been able to quite Understand Downsman with what he says and being of the same speedway generation as me i can understand quite well you being a so called clued on bloke never quite grasped it Shame really.
