  1. Credit to Lakeside they really stuck to there guns and put up a real fight Nilsson went well and Mear battled very hard.Still not convinced with this Swindon side,it might sneak in the top four but win it no chance also why didn't Rohan get an extra ride.?
  2. I agree with him when do you see Auty ride? down south that's it what about other tracks Scunny have you seen him there.? Tell me where his 2 would of come from for me it would of been a tough ask that Wolves sides 1/5 is pretty decent.
  3. Would Lakeside be stronger with Kennett riding rather than Lawson.?
  4. Over twenty races i would back Auty over Ellis all day long on different tracks. So you are telling me Auty on it would not beat Ellis at Scunthorpe? Also Auty has a EL average that suggests he is a EL rider let's not go overboard on Ellis /Newman inflated figures also Newman has usually had lower PL figures then Auty year on year.
  5. No but whoever the draft rider was moving up would find it hard the rule is a joke. They should move up ito a second string berth surely?
  6. I am not convinced mate ,will promoting and getting the word around make that much difference? For me the people between 16/22 are the most important age bracket so hard to attract them speedway for me is like Bovril either you like it or you don't.☹️
  7. Looked at the race programme and looking at the heats Auty has a real tough ask tonight.Ellis even if fit and in decent form would of done well to score any tonight some real tough races. The Wolves top five is very good indeed, and with Howarth as well can see them getting 38/40 pts if not more tonight.
  8. I am a big fan of Auty always have been, great value and on his day is Mr Excitement hope he gets through the Scunny WC round.Be great for him to reach another BF,but let's be honest he is not all white and innocent a tough rider who has been in a few scrapes along the way.The incident at Scunthorpe did look bad but in speedway a rush of blood sometimes comes to the fore hope they both move on now and both kick on and have goodish seasons.
  9. He has improved a lot and i rate the lad,but from mopping up heat 2s in the EL something he doing is a whole lot different to being a No1 in a hardened PL.The PL is a very tough league week in week out wily old campaigners in that league that are still capable mixed with other talented lads. Actually i rate Wright higher than Newman ok tonight he might score a few less but Wright is underated in my book.
  10. He is very small in stature reminds me a little bit like Josh Bailey, going back to the Scunthorpe meeting he did very well to beat the very talented Sam Bebee.Bickley i have only see the once so it's hard for me judge him but for young Tom the sooner he is in the NL the better for him.Nice to have a few youngsters coming along Blackburn Parkinson another impressive young lad.
  11. I have always liked Rohan as a rider has not gone as far as he is capable off but maybe he is a slow burner.I think he finds riding the Abbey quite hard maybe set ups his style ( ect) but he is getting there.Away from home he will be a great little asset when in front he can go mighty quick i think he will improve as the season goes along.
  12. You leave the good old Doctor alone a massive mistake on my part AGAIN!! fair play to the Doctor he laughed it off sorry again Doctor.Back to work tomorrow half day only, then off to that racey pacey Abbey stadium to hopefully see some good racing result immaterial.
  13. A great loss for the sport was Bristol what potential that had, went to the first meeting back at Eastville for the Daily mirror meeting.Got there was shocked with the sandy looking surface the crowd was very big indeed such a shame things did not work out there. Also after that over a period to lose Bristol,Reading,Oxford,Exeter,Hackney,Wimbledon is heartbreaking i loved going to everyone of those tracks. When you think about it that is what is lacking with the EL now VARIATION add the tracks named with Halifax,Hyde Rd, Sheffield a different challenge for the riders then more demanding. Thats why i believe most teams were very strong at home, mainly because some away riders might only visit an away track once a year.
  14. The Poole side with Bucks at two looks very strong ,Pedersen and Newman are out with Ellis a doubt to.With Kurtz at reserve a close home win for me ,Thorsell ,Masters,Bech need to all have good meetings to keep it close with Wolves to get in the play/offs.
  15. This lad has a future see him at Swindon very impressive.
  16. Mirac, Hedge,Tommy, R. Johns,B.Oxley were my favourite ever Dons, Briggo was way before my time can't imagine him riding Plough Lane every week.
  17. Remember for a period Swindon riding Poole/Newport a lot think Swindon rode Newport in the Severn bridge trophy.? Newport who over the years had Crumpy,Streety,Mudge,Trigg, Big Jim Tebby,Coles, Eide riding for them great days.
  18. That Poole side in 1969 was a pretty special one, most of the Poole sides i saw apart from a few with Simmo in them were pretty weak. The Robins rode regular against the Pirates i think it was the Champagne Stakes? probably wrong. So really before the Ford era Poole were pretty moderate apart from a few years. The best sides i have ever seen are the Belle Vue side 72/3 sides and that special Adams Cradley side when Ravn came in.
  19. You are right i have made a DICK of myself more times than i want to remember but hey that's life.A real shame as Wimbledon is a special story, i believe there are a lot on the forum who care deeply about Speedway.
  20. Sad day for the forum thats all i will say.
  21. I counted "Steve that i see Tommy ride about eight times so glad i did a special memory remember the Test Match New Zealand v Sweden at Swindon. Then the last time i see him ride was against Martin Ashby for the Helmet in 76 World Champion material Deffo. No but there is a long feud between you two which is sad, a Wimbledon thread ruined" Iris".🙁
  22. Nothing personnel then "Iris😀😀
  23. No way can't see he will be made welcome by some of the Budgie faithful no problem for me Troy we all know he has real ability consistency is the problem. What about Musielak could he be a option a real outside shout i know and would he make a real difference.? The lad has real ability but the shape of this team does him no favours if he is released someone else will reap the rewards in the long term as i think there is a decent rider in there.
  24. Kennett is flying mate he could be a real danger, always liked Eddie got some stick at Swindon when it was unjust in my opinion.A home win for me Nilsson is a bit of a enigma and i think the Hammers look vulnerable at reserve.
  25. I don't know what other Robins fans think, but is Charles Wright becoming a real crowd pleaser.I think so i put him up there ( which is a honour) with the Kilbs, Broady,Hitch,Keen,Crash,Wellie,Bouchard,Mastrup,Mconnell and endless others. A real racer fans can identify with him hope he stays at Swindon for number of years to come.
