  1. NO NO NO 😆😆Norbold have you been on the pop!Myself so disapointed Briggo only won four titles 1972? but when you analyse it you are RIGHT Ove should of won more than 5 titles.😆
  2. It's interesting when you look at the three big reserve totals lately Wright 15, Worrall 17 (in a 39 total )Tungate 15.I still think you need the second tier reserve to chip in which Stefan did to guarantee a win away from home.
  3. Hope you are right Coombdog"if Nick can get his 10s at home which he is well capable of because at his best he can get beat anyone at the Abbey. Then get his 6s plus away we could be in business fair play to Rosco was very confident in this team his faith never wavered. The next week is huge with Troy just coming back the double over the Stars is well gettable. Then the next week my big hope is that we get a 1800/2000 crowd against the best Poole and can get a another home win be great if the club got a bumper crowd for that one.
  4. Think Rohan can push on now i think away he really can make a difference mega quick when in front. At home is where he needs to improve he will I believe.I think i was one of a few that was not bothered when Rohan replaced Dakota i personally rate him higher.I think Tungate/Wright/Sedgy are the riders that could make/break Swindons season the worry for me is Poole will make another change at some stage.?
  5. Barry is one of the most exciting riders i have ever had the privilege to watch really exciting remember one of the first times seeing him was in the England v USSR test matches.
  6. A great win for the Robins i must say this side keeps surprising me but along way to go yet.Fingers crossed with this track hope it beds down and produces the racing the home fan deserve.
  7. I remember Steve one day at the Abbey it P....d down all day i got to the meeting only about half/hour before the meeting thinking it has to be off. They run it The Mike Keen benefit meeting Dag cleaned up remember when he challenged for the helmet? in 74 he was a world class rider.Bit like Tommy Jansson ( Wembley) he struggled at first but stuck at it came back the rest is history Dag retired to young.
  8. Bob Garrad for me was like John Jackson(he was my favourite ever NLrider)was not that bothered about being fulltime BL riders. Jacko did for a bit at Wolves also i think Bob? might of for a bit for the Hawks. Both fine riders, other riders how good was Dag Lovaas he was quality and another star Eddie Jancarz all of those could of achieved alot more.
  9. Courtney is certainly one of the most stylish riders i ever saw ride won a British junior championship. But his career did not kick on after Leicester think when i last heard he was mechanicing a lot in Poland i believe. One that certainly should of done better was Graham Plant on his day he could beat anyone.
  10. Totally right "Lukas" Newman has a EL average calculated with two races with draft riders in them he would not cope in the top five certainly away from home in the EL.His races in the PL are generally harder than most of his EL rides if he was that good why does he not average 8.50 plus.? in the PL if it is so easy that league is not easy.
  11. Think he come through at Eastbourne just after Woods( who i really liked) yes Barker was unlucky i so miss the County Ground what a track scary as hell that was just watching😫
  12. Barker was very talented unlucky with injury think he had one of the quickest times ever at Exeter Autrey held the record for along while is Leigh Adams the holder now.?
  13. Steve you need to get real,Cook has ambition but at the end of the day the bills have to be paid also he has suffered by not being as sharp as he should of been. Also look at Poland/Sweden how hard is it to get a place there you have people like Drabik at reserve there.Cook is in a difficult position a vicious circle he needs rides to earn money also to get better and try to compete with the big boys invest more into his aquipment.
  14. Valid point "lisa i like Kyle as a rider nothing against him at all same for Gavan and the others i should imagine.Hope that Kyle stays at Poole for years to come great when fans can identify with one of there own.
  15. "Norbold" Eide was a very classy rider, these riders Eide,P.Crump,Monk,Boulger,E.Boocock,Harrfeltd,Betts,Airey, Lofqvist examples) only reached 15 W. Finals between them criminal really.
  16. Steve the races he rides in the EL are not tougher, unlike the PL a tough bread/butter meeting everyweek why is Newman's PL averages generally quite modest.?
  17. Yes totally right,Phil got a very bad injury with another one of my heroes Martin Ashby he had bad shoulder injuries.Crump was not the same force after but he was still a hell of a rider consistent and the 16 lapper King hard as nails.
  18. God i had forgotten eaces1" that he scored 12 pts in that meeting a real good line up too remember Crumpy wearing black leathers that day.I still think Crump' s second in 1975 BLRC Hyde RD was his best performance (3rd in 74 to).I believe 75/76 were Crump's best chance of being WC if only he had put the Streety engine away who knows. In that era up to 1980 Crump( 75/76) ,MIchanek,Olsen,T.Jansson, Collins,Mauger,Lee, were the main players in my book.Looking back if he had lived Jansson would of only been aged 30 when Egon won in 83 makes you think eh.!
  19. Can you remember an injury Rob? i am sure he had a knee injury i think he rode for Bradford then.I am sure he might of had some sort of brace on it i know what you are saying is correct that gap in his career stalled it.At Bradford he was not quite the rider that we had known before his time had gone.
  20. I can remember Crump senior just qualifying at Hyde Rd have a picture of him/Lance in there battle. That performance and the Carter BLRC wins stick out in the mind the 1983 BLRC is my favourite memory though.
  21. Saw Shields ride quite a lot for Oxford top scoring a max i think with George Hunter against a supporters select 1979?Rick Woods i only saw once at Newport in 73 he could of made great strides Gene Woods i think was down to ride in a Sheffield V Birmingham meeting i don't think he rode Nielsen was very good and can remember American Keith Crisco really impressing that night.
  22. Really surprised with that Steve really rated King had a nice tidy style his biggest day being third in the WC in 1984 and winning the Overseas Final at Hyde Rd.If i remember rightly he badly injured his knee and was never quite the same rider after.Other riders to mention who could have had better careers Rick Woods/ David Shields.
  23. We have even seen with Doyley this year an odd blip is possible well beaten in heat 1 at home to Wolves also dropped points at Leicester. This format is harder if FL can get back to his real Monmore best 12 plus everyweek he could be back in business and get in that top 16 again.
  24. I was not convinced with Freddie when i see him at Swindon but in the first GP he looked very quick indeed.I still think there is more to come from him getting there with every ride some of his lines he rode tonight were superb the last lap in heat 15 he went up a gear nice bloke with it to.
