  1. Left it all day still nothing any chance of somebody giving us a opinion of the meeting who rode well ( ect).
  2. Really enjoyed tonight Ayres a league above what a showman he is, he would of been ok in any era value for money. The gate i believe was 300 plus? Atkins a 15 year old lad looked very talented i do hope Swindon go NL next season.Tonight i was amazed what Rossiter the England manager said, he said there were powerhouses in the NL and that is going against the princibles of the NL.Birmingham did he mean that club ? they have Zach, Hume, Parkinson Blackburn,Smith, hardly a ageing club all long term prospects.Apart from Atkin, Armstrong there are not that many older riders in the NL and the ones named do a great job bringing the young ones on a puzzling statement from Rossiter i thought.
  3. The 1/6 that rode in the Redcar match plus Bailey is a very attractive side for 2017 Bailey for me is the important one longterm stick with him and he will improve over the next few years. One thing that has surprised me is that there are now a few NL lads who can make the transition to PL racing.Wilson Dean,Bailey,Bewley, Smith,Shuttleworth, Carr are a few examples it has to be good for British speedway.
  4. "BOBBATH" the British Final for me is heaped in great history means alot certainly to me but now it is down the pecking order.I went for the first time in 75 when Willy beat Ashby in a run off the crowd was huge great night the place buzzing going back to Ronnie Genz a very good rider indeed.
  5. For me Masters deserved his place again has made real progress, Fricke as well i would have no problem with him either..Kurtz is a strange one i think he will become a very good rider i rate him and this year is a learning year for him but to get the nod is strange to say the least.
  6. A thing i would like to see changed is to maybe reward a rider more if he wins the main meeting.Say he scores 13 but has a EF in the semi i dislike it when a rider scores 8 points wins the final and he earns more GP points it never seems right to me.
  7. I would love the same 1/7 to start for Scunny next season, i am sure all of those riders can improve there figures.I went to Scunny the other week against Somerset for the first time what a meeting the track for me was awesome came away from that meeting with my enthusiasm for Speedway rekindled.Ok this side might not win anything, but the crowd will be entertained and that for me is what speedway is all about winning is not everything .When you go to Scunthorpe you get a value for money night out as an example even the programme is priced at only a pound Mr Godfrey puts on a great show there fair play to him.
  8. To right Briggo is my stand out speedway hero great rider was so exciting to watch wish i had of seen his battles with Craven/Moore/Fundin in the 50s and early 60s LEGEND.
  9. Temperment probably not the right word is Emil really confident in his own ability.?We will never know about Darcy now but temperment would not of been the reason of him not winning a world title in my view. Think you are right Ove i think he may have comeback a bit to early something not quite right with him.
  10. Such a shame because i had the pleasure of seeing Darcy ride last year and he looked fit and his gating seemed to have improved.I am convinced he would of had a hell of a chance of being WC I rated him higher than Tai but now we are robbed of the chance of him proving it.Emil is a talent is his temperment suspect? there are doubts but when on it one hell of a rider.
  11. Blaze Away at Wimbledon was my favourite music loved Plough Lane.
  12. Love it you are spot on the new Belle Vue and Scunny are now my favourite tracks.
  13. I am sure some of the points Gavan has pointed out applies to Zagar.
  14. He was a poor gater that really held him back on the world stage at his very best around Hyde Rd he was awesome his pass of Carter in the 83 Northern LRC was sublime a complete gentlemen as well.
  15. For me Emil,Darcy, Tai are the best of there generation a tragedy we never see them strut there stuff against each other.
  16. I agree he was superb have time for all the Brits want them all to progress Blackburn Parkinson,Hume , Bailey, Bewley are four that i have hopes for.
  17. I dont know what others think but i do think Newman,s EL figures are misleading i think he has improved as a rider certainly when i have seen him ride.S.Worrall,Garrity,Starke,Bates,Ellis,Clegg,Jacobs (terrific) are the improvers.Howarth has disappointed me to be honest and also i am surprised how high Auty's home average is with him being such a poor gater.
  18. The best racetrack i ever visited a superb track Hyde Rd i was lucky to have the Abbey as a home venue but Hyde Rd how great it must of been going there every week. Was filling some of my Vue programmes in in the Mauger era in about 20 league meetings Ivan so far has only lost two races against Bob Paulson and Briggo he was a real LEGEND the Benchmark for others to aim at.
  19. Monk and Michanek were two of the hardest riders to get Autographs from both of them i had to wait until after the meeting to get them.
  20. For me get Emil in the GP line up, it then would be the best line up it ever could be. Maybe there could be a case for Laguta at his very best.
  21. A great name of the past he will do well to emulate the original George a very good rider indeed tough as old boots.
  22. He needs to qualify as you have said he is not a certainty for a top eight place if he qualifies tonight he can then go out and try to enjoy the rest of the GPS.
  23. Was Ivor a dirty rider? or was that a myth.😆
