  1. Buczkowski is a rider i like the look of a rider Poole certainly did not get the best of.in 2016.😀I know he is on a tricky average but Doyle,Buczkowski,Morris,Ellis,Bellego, would look good i know it would look a weak tail end though. This team building is so hard you are so limited riders i think Swindon could look at are Howarth,Auty,Wright,Kerr,Starke if they want to go the route of supporting a two pointer at reserve.
  2. Happy with the signing have watched his progress and he had a few meetings at the Abbey a few years ago did well. Now we need a rider at least on par with Ellis/Morris with a 2 pointer who can improve Hume Blackburn,Smith,as examples.
  3. Olsen only won it three times,he would be in front of Pedersen and Hancock for me he is never really mentioned but as you said would be in SOME peoples top ten not convinced everybody now would put him there i would though easily.
  4. Olsen for me is now well underated he would always be in my top 6 probably, Crump was superb followed him from 16 years of age when doing a top ten it is so hard .Craven forget about the GP he could of won a MINIMUM of another two one off world finals it is all hyphetical i suppose.
  5. You are weird give it a week or so then you might be ok then we could always have a chat about Peterborough.😀🤓
  6. No way Norbold 😀 unreal really, i bet you could make a case for another ten if you wanted to.!!! Bluey, Crump(since he was 16 was my favourite modern day rider) Gundo would be in the mix as well really hard.
  7. Starke for me is a rider who has stuck to his guns made progress his first progress was as you said at Berwick.Last year again he made progress often in the top five and if you look back had a brilliant British Final.A rider i would be happy to have in my team anyday of the week.
  8. Good post Sam valid points about Briggo and we all know how good Mirac was sometimes i often wonder did he realise how good he was. top 10 no order Mauger,Briggo,Fundin,Moore,Olsen,Rick,Nielsen,Duggan,Young, Craven, like you said we could change our mind daily.
  9. Eric Langton, and Eric Chitty were two riders i enjoyed looking back in time with when collecting my memorabilia.Arthur Forrest in the 50s was another one what was he aged 16/17 ? at the start he was one exciting rider a thrillster.
  10. Just watched the 1983 British Final which i had it was a decent meeting and a 2016 Scunny WC semi final again!!! That meeting is one of the best meetings i have seen in a long while the Scunny track is superb.
  11. For me "A ORLOV" his average is to high and no way would he cope in the top five. Also if we do have a promising two pointer at reserve we need someone stronger at reserve than Stefan to support him.
  12. I remember Boulger coming second at Belle Vue in the pairs with Phil Crump in 1974 in a very tough final. His individual record is very moderate he was alot better than that but it was a very tough era.Ray Wilson(who recommended JB to Long Eaton) was another rider who underachieved on the world stage along with Ashby,Betts,E.Boocock,P.Crump, as i said some great riders around then though.
  13. Watched that incident endless times did Briggo leave to much room? really wanted him to equal Fundin's five titles.Would he had won it Briggo i think so,but eh i am a little bias a title that slipped away from Barry.
  14. Farndon where would he rate very high up i presume, Jack Young also for me sometimes gets forgotten a class act Duggan did look silky smooth on a bike.
  15. I rated both of these riders very highly Boulger for me was very underated a tough fair rider Persson to had a great career. I was never bitter towards BP even though he might of cost Briggo the 72 WF, both riders it was a priviledge to see both ride at there peak.
  16. Knudsen was a class act and he was one of a few who beat Carter at the Shay on merit Crump also had a decent record against Carter.Knudsen was damn unlucky in 86 but saying that Hans deserved his bit of good fortune.Jonsson i see alot of during the 80s and after Jansson/Sjosten is my favourite ever Swede his style for me nearly as classy as Tommy J Per would of won more titles no doubt about that.
  17. Personally up until 1996 Hans obviously Ricko,Jonsson,Moran,Jan O were the riders i really rated all down to personal preference i suppose.
  18. I was the same out of all the Americans Hamill was never a favourite of mine but i admired what he achieved. The era from 82/88 was robbed in my view with Penhall,Lee,Sigalos,Sanders,Carter all going for whatever reason could it have been differerent? would Hans/Erik still won seven titles between them who knows!!!
  19. I think the opposite i think we need a decent top five and if we can get a 2 pointer improver all the better.I except Nielsen will get a place but i will be very worried if he is in a top 5 and even at reserve i would prefer someone else.Howarth, Wright,Auty,Kerr, would all get the nod over Nielsen for me the thing is we more or likely we wont have the points left to fit any of them in.
  20. Agree with all of that list would add Leigh Adams to it to he was capable of winning a one off final .Jansson well i believe he was a certain champion in the making had everything so pleased i had the pleasure of seeing him ride i see him ride 8 times.
  21. You only watch at the Showground is that right.😂
  22. Do you like a good old tart now and again😜i like a nice bit of Larde cake now and again do you like it.?
  23. A good top five in this league looks decent with Clegg who should hold his own at home and improve overall.
