  1. Went only once last year to Scunny v Somerset and that was the best nights racing i saw all year.
  2. Certainly born in 1934 now a grand old age of 83,Stan was a real favourite a great value for money rider.
  3. Just wondered how far Tony Briggs could of gone in speedway if it was not for his serious neck injuries.I remember seeing him first at Reading in the Sarjeants tools two legged affair with Swindon he looked a prospect a real tough act to follow in Briggo seniors footsteps. One thing i do remember was he was a very poor gater and often had to scrap for points from the back.I remember one race in particular a second half race at the Abbey with Holloway,Robert Craven,Tony in it Holloway won it Tony came back into the pits and got one hell of a roasting from his dad.I wondered what other forum members opinion was of Tony a hard one really but i have a hunch he would of turned out as a very good rider.
  4. Just wondered will Jack ever return to speedway? a talented lad be great if he came back.
  5. Lofqvist i think then went and signed for Hackney i was a real fan of Christer a really exciting rider class.Bast in 77 came over for White City and i remember him moaning that he did not get the practice laps that he required to be competetive at White City. Who would of predicted in 77 that Penhall would end up being a double WC in the future.!!???
  6. Strange comment Kurtz really did well in his first couple of PL seasons alot better than Jack. With Holder i suppose the problems Plymouth had were endless so maybe that had something to do with his average as i expected alot better.Holder i think is a real rider will tear it up at Peterborough and do well in his maiden senior campaign Kurtz also will do well a talented lad.
  7. Wimbledon did have some bad luck were they not suppose to of signed Christer Lofqvist once ? and later missed out on Bast i actually think Bast might of done a few laps at Plough Lane.??
  8. Was Mike Bast generally poor on the big tracks? he was awesome around Costa Mesa (ect).I always felt Wimbledon would of been ideal for him gain confidence then learn on the bigger British tracks.Mauger/Briggs both said he would of cracked it over here both rated him highly a shame we did not get the chance to see him try.
  9. I like Bellego alot an exciting rider and i hope he is a sucess. But Sedgeman has real ability and if someone can unlock all of that he could comeback and bite us on the bum.
  10. Did Toni kasper get a paid maximum on his first appearance at the Abbey.???
  11. Unreal to be honest Crazy, places for Pickering(decent though) Davey in the PL yet nothing for Nielsen so unfair and something should be done about it.
  12. I thought he was Crazy but was let down badly.
  13. What do you do not alot ? you are a Pr.. of the highest nature.!!!😜✌️️
  14. Sid James i prefered him in straight roles my favourite film was hell drivers hated him in Carry on films loved his notorious laugh😆
  15. A good post and spot on with everything, Gavan gets stick on the Poole threads mostly very unfairly in my view.Gavan like myself likes alot of the Poole riders (ie) Newman,Kurtz, both Holder's and if he is wrong over the year he is big enough to admit so.Poole have mostly great supporters but me personally i don't recognise them in the same light as the Belle Vue aces or the Wimbledon Dons for example.I can remember when Poole had poor teams finishing bottom so it has not always been successful for the club.Back to Kurtz and Jack both talented lads and they both have bright futures.
  16. Great stuff 😜seriously though i hope things turn out ok as i am pretty worried now.😢.
  17. Was placed twice 1969/70 in the British junior championship and was a British Finalist in 73 so he was not overshadowed.😆
  18. Other unsung heroes Jim Tebby, Norman Storer, Malc,Brown, Clive Hitch,Wilko, Ken Eyre,Ian Turner (and one of my favourites ever)Barry Thomas.
  19. For me Sheffield have put a really nice side together a nice balance.Really good reserves a good no 1 who will replace Steady Bjerre/Bates who can really improve. Also Howarth is also very capable Sheffield, Ipswich are the two teams i like the look of.
  20. A poor post and just shows you for what you are ✌️️surely me Steve R and gustix are not all at fault????? .A shame really i have enjoyed alot of your posts over the years some real good stuff in there some of it anyway. Now lets get to the nitty gritty you to be honest are a complete tool of the highest order i wouldnt piss on you even if you were on fire.😜
  21. Frank Varey/Dent Oliver both legends in my book.
  22. Did hear Sedgy was promised a team spot and was let down badly don't know if there is any truth in that.?I hope he does well for Leicester a nice guy and there is a very good rider in there big year for him.
  23. Gustix i wished Iris a happy new year and had moved on but was then shafted about discussing a subject with Steve R.How dare we!!!!😅so sad it is unbelievable.
