  1. I think your memory mate is pretty spot on "Paulco " to be honest sometimes i forget what day of the week it is.😀Jimmy Mac what a legend a terrific rider and he stands out for me along with Charlie Monk and Steve Lawson as my heroes of Scottish racing.
  2. A great signing when he was at Swindon you could see the talent was there machinery at times looked suspect but Leicester have signed a good rider. The three riders signed the team is shaping up nicely hopefully a side can be assembled that the loyal lions fans can be proud of.
  3. In 73 Gifford rode i think 22 meetings for Coatbridge Muller had the two poor meetings and none of us would envisage that he would be WC in 1983.!!!
  4. Because he is a decent rider and i commit and say he will improve this year also the fans who pay his wages are happy with him.Is that to hard to digest ? i remember you last year slagging him off yet he went to Poole beat Newman and Pedersen (who he could beat easily on good race tracks Scunny? all day long as a example.Get a grip forget the averages and the fans matter, you have basically said teams home favourites does not mean a jot forget averages speedway is a entertainment Auty whatever you say about him is a racer ask the Scunny fans.
  5. One of those i think was at the Abbey i have the programme he scored 0.Jimmy Mac/Beaton were the hitters for Coatbridge Gifford rode as well i think.
  6. I can remember Dag in those leathers and he wore a little red hat like Scottish colours that always make i chuckle😆
  7. A national league favourite of mine a real racer was John Jackson also Derek Harrison at Milton Keynes was very exciting to watch.
  8. Milik last year was very impressive a great signing if Poole get him certain favourites for the title.
  9. Only four home fixtures from April 6th until June 1st will have to travel to a few other tracks.
  10. I think you will find he is very popular with the fans and for me that is what speedway is all about. It is not all about averages you said Auty last year was the worst rider to ride at Poole all year have a look at how many he scored there at the end of the year.
  11. Steve Gresham was a frustrating rider for me a real tough man and rider. He showed in the England v Usa tests he could compete against the best but he never pushed on.In 81 the Holloway/Gresham partnership was one of the best we have ever had even got 5/1s against the Collins/Grahame partnership which took some doing.Gresh had a reputation but everyone i have spoke to said he was a really nice bloke i only met him once and i can second that.
  12. Two of those blokes Mad Jack and Childs were enterainers and tough but were great team men to.😀
  13. Veijo Tuorniemi the Finn at Swindon who was recommended by Bob Radford who was a great judge really struggled at Swindon.
  14. Point taken sorry "iris, what was your opinion of the german's Hack,Wassermann, Riss (snr who i rated highly ) .I ask you because they were not world beaters but very talented and you know the Germany history / Future scene very well.
  15. He was not unknown but he failed in Britain 😜god "iris just have a chat debate like everybody else is it that hard.?✌️️
  16. Thanks Dave as usual you come up with the stats i havent quite got Dementia yet ( a wicked illness😡) Andy Campbell eh!!.was the other Exeter rider in heat 8.
  17. Saying that Poole also looks like a worn down 1950s stadia as well, and the track last year was generally garbage ask CH.😜Without the area and Poole is a lovely place to go ,Wimbourne Rd is hardly the ritz is it.🤓
  18. Who over the years were the riders who really entertained you and stick out in your mind.A tough choice but here are my 10 choices no order.Briggs. Crump(senior). B.Thomas. C.Morton. PC. A.Smith. S.Mcconnell. N.Boocock. C.Lofqvist. Hitch.
  19. I totally agree "Red Flag" Danielsson was a very promising rider indeed not all the riders listed were poor not at all.
  20. Henrik Glucklich,Kjelle Gimre, Hassie Dannielsson, Knud Ellegaard, Leif Berlin,Larry Kosta,Kurt Hansen, Stanislav Urban,Joseph Angermuller,Les Liesk,Adi Funk,a few that bring back memories.😅
