  1. In my lifetime the best racing i have seen have been at Hyde Rd,A peak Abbey stadium,Halifax,Sheffield,Exeter and modern day Scunny for me is the best.
  2. Was there Wilson beating Crash in a run off Wilson qualifying even after a fall in his first ride. What a line up that British Final was in 1975.
  3. One week Custom i did six meetings in the week Reading,Leicester,Poole,Sheffield,Oxford,Swindon great days.
  4. Hackney and Wimbledon were my favourite tracks in London and Wembley what an occasion that was something special. As good as Cardiff is for me it does not come near to Wembley going to Wembley when speedway was at his peak was something special great memories.
  5. I would not be surprised mate if the Abbey is demolished in September if so who is accountable?.By the way mate are you going to the Darcy meeting on the 24th.?
  6. I hope you are right i predict we will be at the Abbey this year and in 2018 and myself i am happy with that.
  7. Just shows WK how Adams has lasted the test of time. A terrific team manager and speedway person and he made a great signing in Ravn.
  8. In my lifetime the Belle Vue 1972 team and the Cradley Heath 1983 team were the best i ever saw who was the best so tough to choose. Belle Vue 1972 awesome Mauger,Sjosten,Collins,Pusey,Wilkinson, Broadbelt, Eyre. Cradley Heath 1983 Gundersen,King,Collins,Grahame,Wigg,Pedersen, (A masterstroke Adams change Ravn. So tough Belle Vue for me though just.😅
  9. Briggo beating Mauger really put him in the driving seat i am convinced he would of won it 14 points i recon even though Ole was flying that night.I would of give anything for Barry to have equalled the GREAT Fundin's record the one that got away eh.!!
  10. David Tyler/ Miles Evans of Long Eaton were very influential in there successful season with Long Eaton i saw that team once at Stoke.
  11. I wondered what other forum members had as there three best/worst memories in speedway.?.WORST-1. Briggs not winning the 1972 World Final. 2.Tommy Jansson being killed in 1976.3.Malcolm Holloway being eliminated in the 1982 British Final .BEST. 1..Malcolm Holloway qualifying through the 1982 Birmingham semi final qualifying round. 2.Michael Lee defeating Kenny Carter in the Golden helmet at the shay 2.0 in 1983 ( he won 4.0 on aggregate) 3.Tomasz Gollob beating Jimmy Nilsen in that epic GP race pure class.
  12. He impressed me Gordon a real nice tidy style in a way reminds me of a young Mark Loram (some rider he was).I think young Josh can go along way in the sport.
  13. Wallner looked a real entertainer when i see him Wilko is a whole hearted racer also Bailey his weakness is his gating. Whenever i have seen him he had to earn his points from the back.
  14. Did Kelvin have alot of duels with Robert Barth on the Longtrack.?
  15. Sprouts Alder he surely was a entertainer😅 i wonder if Sprout liked sprouts i can't stand em.
  16. When you read posts like this for the life of me i don't know why Phil Rising bothers with this forum. Some of the crap he takes is unreal, none of us really know the real goings on in this case.Mr Rising for me has been great over the years on this forum helped lots of people i don't know why he bothers to be honest.
  17. Well i hope the other one is up and running by then because if not bye bye Swindon speedway.😢
  18. Rules TWK out 😆!! only joking WK,have articles about the track and i believe it was a Cinders surface and race meetings were sometimes on a Sunday.Apparently this caused alot of resentment from the locals and the regular Bible Bashers.
  19. Swindon opened in 1949 before that racing in Swindon was operating in Gorse Hill has anyone on the forum ever been.? or heard from someone who has attended racing there.
  20. Over a period i meant? What are you talking about.??? let's put it another way would you rather them break there budget and risk not having any speedway in the future.?There team this year Auty,Douglas,Kerr,Toft,Wallner,Wilko, and young Bailey are all racers not a gating tart between them.I am sure the Scunny fans will back me up on that.
  21. Scunthorpe track a team they can afford you need to get REAL!!! for me this team will do ok certainly entertain. To be honest since 2011 and winning in 2012 the club put on a great show and in reality have OVERACHIEVED.
  22. You won't see any better racing anywhere though Scunny/Belle Vue are miles ahead in that department.
  23. Peter York in the Nielsen heyday was terribly annoying at Oxford shouting on the Mic.I went nearly everyweek in 84,85,86,he spoilt what was usually a great night out the new stand was superb then.
