I think there was a picture of Gorse Hill taken the surface was black cinders.And ii believe you could turn left at the Arkells brewery Kingsdown and it was on the land where the Duke of Edinburgh pub is now in Gorse Hill.

I think Bewley,Jenkins,Hume,JPB,Smith could be the next group to make the Breakthrough i hope so.

I actually think if Klintd does not gate some of his less experienced rivals can beat him.Also tracks like Belle Vue where you can race riders like Bewley/Smith who are fearless have a chance.

Great point Steve for me having a few old hands like Armstrong, Atkin,Mason really helps to bring some of the young lads on.Don't know what you think from say 2003/4 the Conference/NL has improved alot.

Those days of building up your assets are long gone, the way things are going even Ford will feel the pinch soon.Ford is a great example of a winner but this sport needs to change teams need to encourage young new blood to support it replacing the older generation.

Why in these times would you build your assets up its a 6 month a year merry go round.

Some of the rules in speedway have always been crazy and looking back how Halifax got that facility for Boocock is very strange.Also Briggo after all he had done for speedway was stopped entering the WC bizarre really.So as much as some of the rules now are baffling it has always happened.

Totally right,i can always remember Halifax getting a facility after that injury for Eric to ride at reserve.And in 74 he come to the Abbey and scored 14 points from the reserve berth amazingly after a few years trying he won the British Title in 74.

Swindon was a Saturday night track, and i always got the Star the Wednesday before the Mail was on a Thursday.

If i remember rightly Eric Boocock badly broke his arm there Crump had the track weighed up though.

Bewley really is impressive who do you think will do well rider wise in the NL.?

I have only see a couple of the junior events but what i have seen young Brennan at Eastie looked the better rider also i believe Jenkins at Mildenhall is going places.For me now though you would say championship racing would be to much for Brennan/Jenkins.We have those mentioned the Thompson's Flint,Mcgurk,some young talent to look forward to the future looks brighter.

Is he going to be ready for regular championship racing then ? i hope so he seems to have the right backing and support. How would he rate with JPB,Smith,Bewley when they were at the same stage.?

Belle Vue are the value,Swindon look terrible value maybe they invisage a team change happening there.
