  1. The one legged Dave Detemple was a name that was often bandied about.Mike Bast i really wished he could of joined Wimbledon we could of then seen his true ability
  2. A very average meeting a couple of decent scraps Bjerre v Doyley but still a great crowd though for a lovely evening.Belle Vue really have a very good side a better balanced side without Zagar and also have two promising young Brits at reserve who will only get better as the season progresses.Swindon this side worries me no chance of a top four Nick/Bellego and Zac encouraging signs there but it could be a tough season ahead on and off the track.
  3. I thought that, but often Autrey is the one who gets mentioned as the one who got the ball rolling.
  4. We're Dewayne Keeter, Scott Autrey,Sumner Mcknight,Rick Woods the real pioneers who put the USA on the map in the 70s/80s.Or were the likes of J.Milne,C.Milne,Lamoreaux,Elder,Roccio the ones years before that set the ball rolling be interested to hear peoples thoughts. My two favourite American riders were Elder,(never see😆)and Autrey.
  5. Funny you mention Kurtz and his riding style but that is what drew me to following Fricke's career. His riding style is superb (Like Adams) and his progress in Poland has been very good last year Masters caught up with Kurtz/Fricke.Now both of them need to kick on Lambert is by far our greatest hope for the future and Steve Worrall could be a contender again for the WTC squad.
  6. It does say we can stay where we are until the new build is up do you believe it "A ORLOV"??
  7. Refreshing and there are many like you Ray, Poole fans that can be real and brutally honest. I do hope your track can be transformed to a decent level because over the years i have seen some great racing there. Also i think like myself your main priority is to enjoy your nights entertainment the result comes secondary.
  8. If this side releases Thorssell good luck for the season. For the life of me why is he getting singled out he stays in on home form alone. There are three riders there who could be replaced but for me if Thorssell was released you would then be vulnerable at home.
  9. I am really looking forward to tomorrow it should be good Belle Vue have some laps tonight so it should be a close match.Really looking forward to see how Bewley/Smith go my hunch is a close away win.I think this Swindon side may struggle this year i hope i am wrong though but as long as there are few decent races i am more than happy.
  10. Over the years i have enjoyed watching the Aussies so much i could not imagine watching speedway without them.Poole over the years have benefitted so much from having them Crump,Adams,Boyce,Holder,Ward,Guasco Sullivan as examples.
  11. This Leicester side really has some scope to improve, should win alot of there home matches. And i imagine with Auty/Bates swapping at reserve all season they should always have a decent tailend.
  12. Totally agree in time Bailey will come good, other teams are the same have young talented English lads at reserve patience is needed.Newcastle what a great example have supported Phillips to the hilt and good on em for that.If the likes of Smith,Bailey,Hume,Mountain,Bacon are given time they will be good PL riders in time this league now is very tough.
  13. Tom Perry longterm is not one of the better reserves alot of teams are looking to the future.
  14. A great read as usual and to be honest even if it was at 3.50/ 4.00 pound it would still be great value.
  15. You are so right and Richie Worrall is the same been skanked twice now by the rules and this has hindered him too.
  16. Glasgow seem to have great owners who listen so things will improve i am sure. Like i said i have heard great things about Glasgow.
  17. Going by the updates last night the meeting was a borefest i have heard great things about Glasgow and i will try to visit later in the season. But riders like Auty who can't gate need a track to be able to race and pass on last night it seemed every race was follow the leader.Today at Scunny it won't be like that Douglas,Auty,Fritz,Wilko (ect) Hansen,Holder,Ulrich all racers have a track to race on ENTERTAINMENT is as important as the result in my book.
  18. 46-44 King-14 Sarjeant-4 Covatti-9 Heeps-4 Schlein-8 Hume-4 Mountain-1. I think it will be close and Vissing and King will take some beating Carr/Hall/Blackburn for Berwick and Heeps/Hume/Mountain there clashes will decide the match.
  19. For me if Ipswich can hang in there until Newman returns i recon they have every chance in this league. If Newman can get back for the home Glasgow fixture ( a big match) he would of missed 9 meeting's hopefully Sarjeant can chip in until Newman returns.
  20. Well done to Kings Lynn, and another example of why Holder should not of been released even Ford makes mistakes.
  21. Did you not feel guilty WK!!and shed a few tears for your beloved Sunderland.😅
  22. Bewley is an exceptional prospect, but i would not expect to much to soon.He has to gain alot of experience first, and also with him riding three league's is a big ask phsically and Financially.
  23. On the grass Shanes takes alot of beating i hope he has a great season for Poole. In Bewley,Smith,JPB ,Hume, Jenkins,Shanes we have some real hope now for the future of GB.
  24. For me at Scunthorpe racing later on at night helps that track more favourable than mid afternoon starts.Belle Vue, Scunthorpe,Somerset, and when prepared right Sheffield are in the top six tracks in the country.
  25. He is what he is a very good gater but when it gets tough is he one for the fight??
