You are one that always comes in and says a change is needed, Sedgeman is doing fine and the two named are not better end of. -
Sport is brutal pick your team at the start of the season and go with it no changes unless there are long/term injuries. This year as a example Poole will not win the league with the side they have but we all know they will make changes not good have faith in your original 1-7. Berry Steve i think had the balls to make hard choices/changes for the better of the sport as a whole, but as you said he was knocking his head against a brick wall.A real shame that was a missed chance the Mauger quote is so right named him at 2 a real shrewd act at the time .My point is i did see brutal sport speedway a 50-28 drubbing thats life but some were really entertaining.

John Berry was a man i admired greatly a real speedway man he for me should of been the supremo of British speedway it never happened british speedway would of prospered. The old tac rule never really bothered me as a young un it was a chance to see the opposing no 1 ride usually the heat 8- the 2/7/2/7 race.Speedway for me is an entertaiment good racing a must but these rules and averages trying to even teams up does not work not for me anyway.

What about Patrick Hansen as a short term replacement has alot of potential.
-
Ipswich should not panic and the two reserves should stay for the long haul in my opinion as they are both long term prospects. For me they have missed Newman badly and King!Schlein,Covatti have all been disappointing at times so the blame lies elsewhere.I just hope they dont drop one of the reserves for the sake of a few extra points as i believe the heat leaders need to be whacking in higher scores certainly away from home.

Yes of course "Norbold" didnt mention him because he was a great of the 50/60s better than the two mentioned.Well you are about "Norbold" what is your valued opinion about Ron Mountford,Eric Boothroyd,George White.?
-
Mike Broadbank/Ken Mckinlay who for me were two great stalwarts for Great Britain Broady in my eyes was a legend for the Robins. Both similar i suppose in prophile,14 world finals between them five for Broady 9 for Ken a close call but Ken just edges it as the better rider.

Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
He certainly did,i thought in 75/76 77 Simmo along with Ivan/Ole/ PC,Jansson,Lee,Michanek,Crump were in the group of top riders in the world and to be mentioned in that company shows just how good he was only Three world finals criminal really. -
Drew up a record of 12 of the best British riders that i saw ride. There British Final and World Final records very interesting for me.No order BF record in ( brackets).Nigel-Boocock.(13)/8 Eric-Boocock. (8)/3. Terry- Betts (8)/1 Malcolm Simmons (10)/3 Martin Ashby (10)/1 Ray Wilson (10)/4 Dave Jessup (13)/6 Michael Lee (7)/6 Kenny Carter (5)/3 Peter Collins (12)/8 John Louis (12)/4 Chris Morton (14)/7. Jessup and Morton had outstanding records with Ashby,E..Boocock,T.Betts well underachieving.

Holmqvist to me was like Jan Simensen with a bit of luck could of done alot more.

-
In a really good era 1969/73 how could you split these riders impossible Betts,Jessup,N.Boocock,E.Boocock,Harrefeldt Nordin,Airey,Sjosten,Hedge,Mcmillan,Eide, Lofqvist,B.Jansson,Middleton,,Persson,Wilson,Boulger,Louis,Monk,Ashby,Kilby,Simmons, and others)Then add the Five LEGENDS as well- Briggs,Mauger,Olsen,Moore,Michanek what a superb standard of rider we were blessed with then.

This is the best chance Swindon have had of beating Poole at home for a long-time .All Poole riders have question marks against them apart from Shanes who has over achieved so far.KK,Hans who turns up? Holder,Kurtz,Klintd can you trust them i am really hopeful of a home win. -
Swindon Vs Rye House
Sidney the robin replied to phillipsr's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Heat seven was a great race mainly because Grondal gated and Morris tried to team ride then Harris put a spanner in the works and put Nick in trouble. The race between Nicholls and Morris was sublime, Nicholls looked short of pace but he used all his nowhow and track craft to hold off Morris who was all over him like a rash. -
Swindon Vs Rye House
Sidney the robin replied to phillipsr's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not a bad meeting at all,and there was a great race between Nick and the evergreen Nicholls .The result was a tad flattering as Rye put up a decent fight BWD was excellent but Morris was outstanding has he turned the corner i hope so the talent was always there can he push on we will see. -
Beefy got him to sign an old speedway post in which he was on the front cover in Ackney colours which he happily obliged.
-
"steve" are you as enthusiastic about the Witcher side as he is ?. As a Swindon fan i would love Wolves to change to that line up.
-
Good old Salty thought he was right😆he must be just like me sometimes we forget what day of the week it is.😆
-
Is Kerr or Shanes missing at Swindon on Sunday.?
-
Probably right Kev it makes sense to be honest, but can you believe that when Colin got himself fit that he has never had a few laps ? speedway was in his blood and still is.
-
Good job or the play/offs might be a pipedream😆your team has a bit of time a good change could really push you on.
