  1. Away on holiday at the moment any chance of somebody putting a stream up much appreciated.
  2. See Kevin ride quite a few times for Exeter and Poole ( where he had started superbiy). Can remember the day being told like Gary Petersen and Tommy Jansson a real shock for a young un none of them will ever be forgotten RIP.
  3. That was a great policy that Dent Oliver made sure bared fruit in which it did for Belle Vue.I know those days are long gone but why cant teams pick a 1/7 and stick to it unless they're are injuries.I just hope young English lads in the future get a proper chance to develope and are not booted out after a sticky period.
  4. This is why team speedway is going down the swannie there are endless changes no continuity.Guests r/r riders getting booted out after a month a farce in my eyes everything is about winning now.It shouldnt be ENTERTAINMENT should be the no 1 goal and getting people to comeback and watch now all it is rules changes and promotions trying to get one over on each other.I was thinking Belle Vue 1972 is the best team i have seen would Ken Eyre have survived in that team in this day/age a big NO.He would of been replaced now by some foreigner who could score half a point more.Even though Eyre was popular with the fans and was at times a vital cog in that great team.
  5. Your theory on speedway usually is based on Figures and you would CHANGE at every opportunity. You even said Sedgman should of been replaced at Belle Vue and was shown up by someone regarding his point scoring this year.
  6. What about others? Davies is decent but not great in my opinion the guy at Swindon is just as good in my opinion.
  7. This sport amazes me surely they knew which fixtures Auty had you couldnt make it up.Gomolski never there Bjerre is ok a hot/cold character another foreigner nicking a place off an English rider. As i have said i understand why they have done it give this Leicester promotion the benefit of the doubt they come in quite late.Bates has made some strange decisions lately and needs to address what the supporters think at Sheffield a crap racetrack when we all know it is a top class one at his best.Bjerre is ok but you will see over a period he is no better than Auty plus is not always a trier like Auty.
  8. The bloke at Cradley was pretty good i think he is still around John Hipkiss.
  9. Yes i do remember that race funny to think that i first saw Hans ride in 77 he did start on a 2 valve ?.How his style changed a bit as times changed, and he ended up being a great.I can also remember his brother Henry riding for the budgies for a few matches he had ability but i dont think he was that serious about speedway.
  10. If the likes of those come into the Championship when they are ready and still have a full NL campaign that has to be good.It is looking better for the future i just hope clubs give these lads chances and time.
  11. Dont mention Ebdon✌️️my take on the incident was it was a 50/50 decision and to be fair Hans deserved the rub of the green sometime because he had been unlucky in other years.
  12. Knudsen what a class rider he was he had a good head to head record with Hans.Knudsen to even comeback to that level after those horrendous back injuries took alot in 1986 WF that one got away from Tommy he was very unlucky that night.
  13. Agree with everything you said in the Championship who is the best foreign newcomer Pickering maybe ? Unless they are of say Pickering ability or better no foreign rider should get a place over a englishman.
  14. Was never a fan of that meeting either Steve,a Reading early meeting start usually meant Smallmead being as slick as a board. One Oxford 3tt early meeting start that stuck out for me was a heat 1 Reading 5.1 Shirra/Holloway over Nielsen/Cox a real shock. Before going to Oxford regularly i was never a fan of Nielsen always wanted Erik/Knudsen to beat him but Hans won me over a period a pleasure to see him in action.Nielsen i can remember him flying around Hyde Rd ( not usually a favourite hunting ground) in the Ivan farewell meeting with six in a race a really exciting sight.
  15. Funny thing is Steve i was never a Oxford/Reading/ hater having those tracks were great certainly took up alot of my social time.My wife was never a big fan but she always came with me and i loved Smallmead and Cowley. The year i most enjoyed were Martin Dugards first year as a cheetah and Per Sorensen going there later i always liked Per.God wish we had those tracks now both easy to get to and a great night out.For two or three years i did Swindon,Reading,Oxford and another everyweek looking back i dont know how i could afford to keep going.
  16. Debating anything with you it is odvious i am always going to be the loser being right or wrong means nothing to me the banter is the most important thing. One thing we agree on is John Berry and what a telling contribution he made to speedway he is up there with the Varey,s ,Fearman, Dent Oliver, (ect).
  17. With all leagues now having young British riders in the side is that good longterm for England.? I think so Perks has started well in both leagues Hume/Mountain have shown they have longterm futures Phillips is steady and others have shown glimpses (ie) Shuttleworth/JPB.Smith struggling at Glasgow has surprised me but he will come good he has done well anough for Belle .Vue having more rides gaining exsprience will benefit these lads.Give it a few months the likes of Jenkins/Brennan could also get guest bookings and chances both have bright futures the future is looking brighter for England.
  18. A guy i know who i respect greatly, was great friends with Billy Sanders he told me he held Mr Berry in high esteem.Michael Lee/Sanders were both helped alot over the years by JB they both were close we know John had his flaws like all of us but his views i respected greatly.
  19. If Berry said something and you said something who would i listen to? i am afraid it wouldnt be you.Nothing personnel but say what you like about Berry he knew his speedway but the most important thing was he cared about the sport as well. Is every subject you discuss about BEING RIGHT/WRONG?
  20. Forget figures as a team they have gelled well, what more do you want ? all Aces fans will also have patience with Bewley/Smith also Sedgeman will improve.
  21. Of course and you are right "Keith but as a example he wont be beating Hume at Foxhall so everyone has a home track advantage,But this year he has improved the championship now is really tough and look how the likes of JPB and Smith are coping in the Championship Phillips is holding his own.
  22. WK go back to the likes of M.Parker( a real tough guy to deal with) and the likes of Fearman,Mawdesley!Silver,Crane/Littlechild, Boothroyd as examples real good speedway people.Even now there are great people still in the game who dont take much out but give alot.Berry for me was a modern man evolved and took no crap if he had been the supremo it would of been an interesting ride,
  23. I think HA you are way off the mark concerning Berry, him falling out with people showed he was not on the gravy train a yes man.He fell out with a few over the years but he held respect from most i cant think of anyone in my speedway lifetime who would of done a better job than him.
