  1. He was decent and when he came back from injury sam" a mega bad injury he reinvented himself fair play to him for that. But he would be nowhere near a Aussie best of alltime top 10 nowhere near Todd was decent but exciting not for me.
  2. Your post i can certainly agree with WK !!! 😜 and identify with Lee if we are all honest he was a nightmare a great rider though and my overall feeling of Lee was he really buggered up his career.Great rider though and 83 and other years Lee beat Nielsen/Erik quite often and had a great head/head record and he defeated Carter who was mega talented at that time quite regularly.🤓
  3. WK Lee how dare you 🤓Kennett was one i was not a lover of good rider and really he would of been great at the Abbey he had a great record there.Olsen was one of my heroes and is certainly one of the best riders i have ever seen but it is your opinion WK and i respect that and that is what the forum is about.😜
  4. Was thinking about some of the riders over the years who never really did anything for me personally but still achieved great things.Riders who come to mind for me personally were Rickardsson, Hamill,Jessup,N.Pedersen, Bo.Petersen,Bastable,Hancock,Niemi,Ulamek,Wiltshire, again i will stress most of those mentioned achieved great things.
  5. Great point for the Robins really pleased with that Bjerre is going great guns at the moment fair play to him for sticking at it over the years.Bjerre in a way is like Doyley both have had horrendous injuries over the years but both must be mentally tough to have overcome them.Bjerre also has always had great kit so this superb Belle Vue track really suits him i believe he has a chance of getting back in the GP series again this year.
  6. Doyle really looked quick last night and in one race he even looked to take it easy and young Lambert made in roads on him.For Doyle he looks like he has a real crack at being WC this year i really hope so great to see him ride most weeks. For Lynn Rose has really kicked on come on alot looks comfortable in the top 5 i really hope he enjoys his British Final debut and gets in the mix young Bailey who have time for you had to feel for him.
  7. It just shows you how hard the championship is and now the two leagues are closer together than they have ever been.
  8. A frustrating night really, riders tried really hard to race but there seemed nothing in that surface no drive at all.BWD in one race rode his b... off tried everything to pass but there was no grip at all.Saying that the track looked quite smooth, Kings Lynn did a great job and if Holder can raise his game look a dangerous team.Swindon there has to be changes and it wont be easy to be able to improve the team that much. Was talking to a mate last night and we were saying what if Belle Vue rested Jack Smith and brought in Tungate on a low average they would then be very formidable.
  9. Bellego i can remember him having a reasonable year at Sheffied and people were commenting then how good he could be.Last year he had a good year so it is not that much of a surprise but he has looked mighty quick but most of us agree he has overachieved so far this year.
  10. A really nice morning here, hopefully the weather will hold up we had alot of rain yesterday where i am about 3 miles from the track.Kings Lynn could be very dangerous tonight, Huckenbeck for me is the key along with the talented Lambert.Lambert has not always gone great at the Abbey so he needs to be on it and Batchelor who knows what version turns up tonight i think a Budgies win by about 8.
  11. Autrey certainly had his best year BL wise in 79 and apart from say four riders was miles ahead of the rest .Also Autrey before he came over in 73 he had quite a good record on some of the big tracks where's some Americans had not so i would have to disagree that he was only good on the narrower tracks.
  12. It is a shame speedi that people bother you that much!!!! you dont need to block anybody just dont read there posts end of.
  13. Orion is one of the people on here that i actually have no idea what he likes or dislikes. He generally wants confrontation and is never positive on any issue a crying shame really.
  14. Any of Wally Lloyd coming up..?
  15. Young Anders Rowe scored 4 points in the Mildenhall v Kent fixture i think it was his NL debut ?.Good luck to the young un in his speedway career i hope he is a future Budgie.😀
  16. I dont know if he was born with that spelling Knutson but Knutsson is the spelling i have in every programme magazine and most importantly on the WC roll of honour.😀😄
  17. Thanks for that i think one of the match races was in the Southampton V Swindon fixture i will have a look thanks again.
  18. I wondered if someone can help me with the race times of the British Match race title races between Ove Fundin and Bjorn Knutsson at Southampton and Norwich in 1961.I have the programmes just need the times, Knutsson did the impossible by beating Fundin in two 2.0 runs at Southampton and Norwich.
  19. Nick keeping his confidence high scoring a brilliant 16 points at Workington beating Cook once on merit.Dany scored 3 points with a fall in amongst that look forward to seeing him ride on Thursday.
  20. I can remember Mauger/Olsen,Michanek all getting boos but mostly that was because of the respect they had as great riders.Woffinden is no different no more unpopular than Lee Carter he has real support just a few on here who moan most of us see the bigger picture.!!!!
  21. As much as i loved Mike Lee i still think he was a better rider than PC but he did not prove it saying that both were great British riders to be proud of.🤓on the riding side anyway.☹️️ 79 Sam Ivan was very lucky Scott never opposed him,i think 72/79 were two titles Mauger was lucky to have won saying that 73 he was very unlucky. In 1980 i never felt PC would ever win it was Penhall/Jessup favourites? i can remember Lee getting up the inside and beating PC for second in a race when DJ had gone Collins after 77 was never for me going to win another WC.
  22. Collins after he got injured at Belle Vue and bravely failed to retain his title in 77 for me he was never as good again.A surprising stat is he was only British Champion once that really shows you how tough our league was in those days.I was never a PC fan but he was a great rider and i would say he is the best rider i have ever seen that could come from the back.
  23. Lee,Collins,Loram Havelock Price, have only won a title each only Freddie W who was welsh but british won two titles and the late great Peter Craven.
  24. Malc Holloway,Pete Glanz,Dave.Roberts,BrianButterfield,Terry Broadbank, Steve Goodwin all great lads downn to earth.
