I think you are so wrong about this winning thing,of course it helps but a few people i know who did use to go regular dont go everyweek now because of the entertainment aspect. You dont mind putting a with a poor nights entertainment as long as your team wins that is strange to me WIN everyweek but watch crap racing does that makes sense.?
-
You were the one moaning and groaning about Grondal right? and that was the right move.My take is how can riders perform when they know there could be willy nilly changes every five minutes. If he makes a change Rosco why say something before the fifteen v Rye House and NO you are WRONG not everything is about winning. My first priority would be to get the racing better at the Abbey and to produce more entertainment for the crowd which lets be honest apart from a handfull of races this season has been average at best. Also Orion would you rather have a team that we can identify with or a team who make regular changes.? Does the averages come out on the fifteen v Rye House? surely within reason he would of identified his targets already.

What a joke this sport is change after change to win at all costs, and the funniest thing is how Rosco doesn't know what the averages are why.?

Ashby when he came second to Ole in the BLRC (Briggo helped him) really upped his game he had some really good years 1971/ 77.To watch him everyweek was a privilage he had brilliant trackcraft and he would be up there for me as one of the better passers of his generation.Briggs, Broady, Ashby,Kilby,Autrey,(only a year) Crump, Adams, and now Doyley all of us as Budgie fans have been very lucky to have seen all of these legends riding for us.
-
Mauger(not often) Olsen, Wilson, Middleton, ,E.Boocock (he took the Silver Sash from Briggo once) very few beat Briggo.Middleton what a talent he was he had a reputation but he was well liked a bit like Jack Millen.A real hard man reputation but was great with the young riders and would help anyone.

Great WK that you still think fondly about Vic, because down south we certainly do..I always remember the riders who had there time cruelly taken away all for doing what they loved doing and doing there best to entertain us. -
Does that show. how crazy ????? CRAP the rules and regulations are.?☹️️?

Weird really you say that, i dont think the two leagues will ever happen not yet anyway but you are right something needs to change.Swindon i believe can get a crowd that is sustainable i think with Poole do ok.Swindon is so annoying i have mates who keep in contact know what is going on but never go they say 17 quid is to much. Both my sons i took as young uns they still like the sport know how the sport is going GPS (ect) but still say it is a expensive night out i dont agree maybe it is compared to other night outs.????
-
Starman you are like me if there was two matches a week you would be there,if the two leagues joined up there would be more fixtures and against unfamilar teams could that be BETTER or not.???
-
Beefy you are so right now in this modern age if people get used to not doing something it is hard to keep these people on side.As Orlov said maybe put a Sprockets meeting's in there tomo is a massive day for Swindon Speedway i really hope there is a great crowd tomorrow afternoon fingers crossed for the weather.
-
A real tough meeting for the Budgies,i think Somerset have a big advantage at reserve and that should keep it close. For me Lawson and Hougaard are the key,Lawson has been in great form but he has never really impressed me at the Abbey but he can gate for fun and be very quick in front.Hougaard i can remember him scoring points for fun at reserve once i think he scored 16? so he is well capable of riding well i recon a home win by about 8 points.

I remember Reading doing great food in the Geoff Curtis bar, ---- and Oxford when they had a lovely new restaurant that was a different way of viewing speedway a great night out. -
Tiger do you think in the 70s/80s most Northern clubs were rewowned as being poor travellers when on there Southern visits.I often felt that Southern clubs on there Northern jaunts were the Northern teams usually were formidable on there own track and had a big home advantage.I loved all my visits up North great days Owlerton,The Shay,Hyde Rd was a real old treat a great day out it usually P..... down when i went to Hyde Rd.

Heat 2 with Wallinger and Woodhull was a decent race it just shows you that this level can serve up decent racing.I hope Swindon might get to ride Eastbourne or /Mildenhall ie) could get to see Brennan,Jenkins,Wood,(ect). -

Woodhull was very impressive Wilson getting injured spoiled the match a little but there was some decent racing.Zach was very quick Wallinger Wooley chipped in well and for the IOW Cockle was great value. Greaves well he has improved one hell of alot, Cockle and Greaves gated Zach in heat 15 and by then Greaves had long gone.I really hope these matches are here to stay i recon maybe?4/ 500 was there hard to judge though. -

Wolves V Poole 29/5/17 6 Pm
Sidney the robin replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
All in all Poole's record with young English riders is not great, if Shanes goes for me that would be a travesty. He has more than done his job and he will improve longterm and other riders there at the moment who have been underperforming have not been given the boot.Newman it is great as a Brit that Poole support him but surely Zengi for KK ( one change) is anough for a month then reavuluate after.
