How Many Of Us Are Losing Interest.?
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A poor post and without some of us whingers and oldies the sport in this country would be knackered. Also the two posters you referred to have not lost total interest and still follow the sport and if i am correct would love the sport to prosper.Forget the GP circus that has no relevence to me when i am discussing the three leagues the sport is still brilliant and it can still be a fun night out but people are not coming as regular anymore. As a example the four meetings at the Abbey close together were really well attended and it was great to see that once great racetrack pretty packed again. But those meetings covered over the cracks the problems the sport has, one of the meetings was a 5 pound meeting and in all the four meetings how many people got in FREE to many i would suggest.Over the four meetings i spent between 160/200 pound on those meetings not cheap, ok i am lucky i could afford it but some cant so people have a right to moan.In England get the regular 1/7 teams back riders who they can relate to and sort the CRAZY rulebook out that would be a start this next year or so is a real big one for English speedway. -
He hurts me to say this but after first going to speedway in 1968 my interest in the sport is dwindling.I still go to the Abbey every home meeting but at times it is hard after getting home from work to get motiavated to go.I sometimes get there see a good race and the excitement comes back my interest in the sport also went from about 1990 to 96 but i stuck with it.But this winter is a very important one for me i am seriously thinking about picking my meeting's next year as i have other thing's to do now i hope i get the bug back when March comes around again. On Monday i taped the Wolves v Swindon match yet have not even got around to watching that yet that tells you everything does anyone else feel the same as me.?

Not a barney Iris, but the Red was taking the pee he did say Olsen could not not team ride if so when he watched he must of been Stevie Wonder in disguise.😂😜
-
Are you trying to be clever or not ?? you said OLSEN could not team ride ?"?.i tend to DIFFER ask Moleneux ,Shirra,Stancl, Busk, Miller, Nicholaijsen,Guglielmi if they agree with you did you go to Brandon with your eyes closed. ??😜😂

I still get them now and my wife and two lads crucify me for it really take the mickey only banter though. But i have a pretty decent collection and at Swindon it is still quite popular before the start of the meeting Anders Michanek was always a hard one to get and Charlie Monk.

Jason Doyle In This Weeks Speedway Star
Sidney the robin replied to diamond_ren's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I am a big Doyle fan but for me the BL league scene needs to balance the books and if the cream are removed then we can regroup and plan for the future. -
Swindon Vs Wolves 31/8/17
Sidney the robin replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You used to watch speedway in Wiltshire supposingly ?? you lived there as well what a prat you sound.Your name always pops up as a Poole spokesman for the Poole Pirates you speak for most of the fans total rubbish there are some real decent ones on this forum and you certainly dont relate to any of them. -
Swindon Vs Wolves 31/8/17
Sidney the robin replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This match is a very dangerous one for us and i think our weakness at reserve might cost us tonight. Before Zach got injured i was quite confident of the Budgies winning the league but now i am not.We look more vulnerable at home and even with BWD at reserve we dont look as balanced as a team as when Adam was there.Riss coould be very important tonight his first visit to the Abbey he could be the diffference also Greaves might chip in with a few important points. -

No one will do better than Middleditch at Poole , this year has been a hard year but they are still in the mix. They have a nucleus of a young team next year and i bet Middlo has the backing of 90 per cent of there fans i hope so anyway a decent chap for me and as a rider/manager his CV looks pretty good.😀 -

1947 Belle Vue Duggan V Parker Golden. Helmet.
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
Going through Jack Parker's golden helmet record he defended the title 22 times between 1931/51 ---- 21 times after the war the Helmet was known as Parker's Pension. -
With the season coming to the nitty gritty stages of the seaon who are your five improvers out of the three leagues this year here goes no order- HOWARTH, BOWTELL, THOMAS, WAJTKNECHT ,GREAVES. a mention to for Hume (unlucky) Phillips ( unlucky) both who had started brilliantly.

I think if you want to include Australian titles Auty did beat Ward from the back rememember 2010? so forget Kyles titles. You misunderstand me Howarth has had a great year fair play for me he was very lucky to even get a place at Wolves this year but he has repaid them. But still Howarth in my mind is no better than Auty he has never been a PL number 1 yet i think Auty had his best average year around 8.80 ???We shall see in the next few years but if you want to look back over the years Auty leads him head to head and the difference is Auty can drag a real great meeting out of the bag ie) like getting 17 last week Howarth quite does not do that be interesting how they get on in the next few seasons.

Could Levedev be a option again if his commitments allow? Lambert, Jorgensen,Auty, Huckenbeck,Rose, would be in my plans like Poole a youthful look about it.

Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
Thanks "iris" helped alot 😀 Duggan how can you rate him was so unlucky not his fault of course .I would say Farndon,Duggan still go down as speedway greats but did not get the chance to show it and later on Tommy Jansson joined them. -
Was going through some of my scrapbook's and in 1947 at Belle Vue Vic Duggan beat Jack Parker 4.0 in four straight runs. Were four races run before or after the main event ? why four races strange anybody know be great to hear some details.
