Is Robert like Lee in some respect did Lynn lose a few supporters when he left? Bettsy who had a huge following was nearing the end so that time was a strange period for the club.

NO i personally dont think Woffinden at his best would beat Lee /Collins. Craven i did not see ride but his record speaks for itself. Also in yesteryear when Briggo/Mauger (ect) rode in British Final's it was mighty tough to qualify for a WF now i think Grand Prix results are percentage results.

Carter, Morton,simmons,louis,wilson What Order.?
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
No he is number five quite easily for me and his CV is not as good as Simmo and did he score a maximum in a peak WTC year like Wilson ? No also was he placed in a WF like Louis NO. Yes can see your point of view WK and at club level Carter was quite a selfish rider for usually a weak Halifax team riding for England he was different. -

He was good around Hyde Rd but the Northern Riders/ and the 83 BLRC he was not at his best also i felt the Shay was his home was not not that convinced with him at Odsal. -

Frigbo , Eace's are both blokes who have there own opinion which surprised me Carter i did not think would be top of those five but for me he was a bit ahead. -

Louis beat Crash from the back Wilson after a first ride fall that really cost Ashby it did hurt at the time but i was a big Bostik Willy fan anyway so it did not matter. You have a guess you tell me.??? 😀😜 -

WK you are a man i Respect !!! Carter at 5 really.😜🤓 -
Have been doing my ratings on the British riders over the years and these five riders i had pretty close together i wondered what your opinions were. my order. 1./ Carter. 2./ Simmons 3./ Wilson, 4./Louis 5./ Morton.

A different era and you need a different quality to win a one off world final harder in my opinion than to win the series .Havelock i was never a fan of i preferred Loram,Louis, .Dugard,Screen but he did reach the pinnacle which is a hell of a achievement as it stands at the moment i would still rate Craven,Lee,Collins higher than Woffinden but that could change in the future.

How Many Of Us Have Not Lost Interest?
Sidney the robin replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There are still alot of positives about the sport at its best it is as good as anything speedway is also about meeting up with a couple of friends chewing the fat about the sport and having have a pint or two.Can the sport recover in this country i think so with the right vision a tough job but the potential of this sport is huge. For me seeing younger riders come through is what i enjoy the most hopefully English but i dont mind what nationality.Last week for example young Alfie Bowtell rode for the Budgies in reality with his limited experience he should of been out of his depth but he acquitted himself very well good on a bike and under pressure got a great point to beat Greaves. That point really got some of the crowd going a young English lad riding his balls off he is someone the fans can relate to and i hope he pushes on in his career and fair play to Newcastle for showing real faith in him.So yes it is still a great sport and there is still alot to like about it fingers crossed British speedway can improve all three leagues working closely TOGETHER ( Pigs might fly .😜) -
I would be very confident if Zach was in the side we have really missed him and certainly with a fit Brad as well so i would favour Swindon only just.I would be quite happy with a narrow away defeat then beat them on agg at the Shabby whatever happens as Steve says it is not life/death and if Poole do it good luck to them in the final.

How Many Of Us Are Losing Interest.?
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You make out people are moaning for the sake of it they are not, most are just FRUSTRATED they know how good the sport is the potential to be better is huge. You are someone i respect and yes lets be positive you always are to your credit but some of the problems there are odvious solutions yet nothing is happening. Also do the fans really get listened to they should do because i dont see a pretty end to our sport in this country unless common sense changes are made. -

I think you are wrong those crowds over those four meetings are false and also if you love speedway should it matter if you are first or bottom.? are we all that fickle.? The new stadium for me is pie in the sky cant see it happening rather it stayed at the shabby anyway hope i am wrong and the new stadium happens but we shall see. -

I think our team in general holds its crowd very well and Rosco and Lee Kilby have done great work that often is not mentioned. But i dont know what you think "beefy we have lost quite a few regular supporters we always used to get 1600 plus do we on a consistent basis now.?As i said our club is doing alot to try to get the new supporter in Rossiter/Kilby know that and both do as much as they can press wise on that side both are superb. -

Great that the likes of you are still enjoying your speedway and after Hyde Rd who would think another track could rival it a track and stadium to be proud of. -

A poor post and without some of us whingers and oldies the sport in this country would be knackered. Also the two posters you referred to have not lost total interest and still follow the sport and if i am correct would love the sport to prosper.Forget the GP circus that has no relevence to me when i am discussing the three leagues the sport is still brilliant and it can still be a fun night out but people are not coming as regular anymore. As a example the four meetings at the Abbey close together were really well attended and it was great to see that once great racetrack pretty packed again. But those meetings covered over the cracks the problems the sport has, one of the meetings was a 5 pound meeting and in all the four meetings how many people got in FREE to many i would suggest.Over the four meetings i spent between 160/200 pound on those meetings not cheap, ok i am lucky i could afford it but some cant so people have a right to moan.In England get the regular 1/7 teams back riders who they can relate to and sort the CRAZY rulebook out that would be a start this next year or so is a real big one for English speedway. -
He hurts me to say this but after first going to speedway in 1968 my interest in the sport is dwindling.I still go to the Abbey every home meeting but at times it is hard after getting home from work to get motiavated to go.I sometimes get there see a good race and the excitement comes back my interest in the sport also went from about 1990 to 96 but i stuck with it.But this winter is a very important one for me i am seriously thinking about picking my meeting's next year as i have other thing's to do now i hope i get the bug back when March comes around again. On Monday i taped the Wolves v Swindon match yet have not even got around to watching that yet that tells you everything does anyone else feel the same as me.?
