  1. The Southbrook has a very good reputation for food and it has been very good when i have been there just hope Rosco can do a nice burger and Chips.😀
  2. Will Alfie Bowtell get a place at Lakeside or Newcastle (Danny Phillips back) ? he could be one to consider a real favourite.
  3. My take on it is that it is not out of his system,he should do it he loves racing and there is plenty of time to be retired.I really admire Lewis for getting back he odviously really wanted it and he made it happen so good luck to the guy.His family are odviously behind him and you dont want to be getting to 40 and having regrets saying that your comments are probably the right thing to do.
  4. I felt the crowds held up ok generally, i know there was alot of 10 pound meeting's to get people in but the main problem was the lack of meeting's.People get used to not going when there are three/four week gaps between meeting's that has to be addressed in 2018.
  5. A very good side i think Heeps for me is the key at times last year he really impressed me just needs that bit more consistency. Both the reserves are promising,Hume really has ability and is decent at home Mountain improved as the season went along and the German also has a good reputation this side will be mighty hard to beat at home i recon.
  6. I would pick Zach all day long over Nielsen we need a pretty decent reserve alongside Zach i think.
  7. Is it true that Rosco did not even go to Tenerife?
  8. My point is why would Poole pay for Wright? they dont use him ok i suppose they might get a yearly loan fee for him forget longterm build a team as and when everyyear. This year Rosco more and likely had in his mind had set on Doyle/Morris who wouldn't then up pops the 8 pointer rule everything blown out the water.
  9. Why would you buy riders now it is madness, this shows this league now has no real intention of enticing the stars back anytime soon. For me personally i dont mind the next few years is going to be a tough for most clubs why spend money out that you cannot afford.
  10. Nothing to do with Morris and by the way he ent a bad rider, Doyle now deservedly would be on great money can Swindon really afford it i think not.
  11. Not a surprise to be honest such a shame really but we will still build a decent side just hope we dont loan him out to another British club.
  12. 'arnieg" that PLRC meeting at Belle Vue was some meeting different lines produced as the meeting went along the track is a credit to the sport in this country.Someone also said they thought the Peter Craven meeting there was a even better meeting the standard is high then what a treat it must be for all those Aces fans to view there everyweek.
  13. I was never really a fan of individual racing i did go to alot of meeting's over the years especially the WC.rounds.But when the meeting's were taken away you certainly missed them our prestige meeting was the Silver Plume and later on the Evening Advertiser trophy meeting they usually produced decent line ups.The Manpower meeting and the Superama were two meeting's i took in a few times could there be a place for those meeting's now i am not so sure.Saying that i have just bought the 2017 Prem league riders championship at Belle Vue what a really enjoyable nights racing that was a must Christmas present for any speedway fan.
  14. You dont half talk some crap😜 ent got a clue comes to mind.
  15. Moore i only see at the tail end of his career but he was a class act and a gentleman to his track craft was second to none.My impression was Ronnie rode more for enjoyment and if he won he won if he lost he lost didnt matter either way.On the superb Wimbledon dvd the race where Ronnie beats Ivan it looks like Ronnie had eyes in the back of his head he seemed to know every move Ivan was going to make.Me being a Briggo fan it pains me to say maybe Ronnie would rank ahead of Barry Moore was some rider.
  16. Could Romano Hummel be a rider somebody could look at along with Lyager could be a decent signing.
  17. You have to say Iris he was still top of the pile though when he left and at that stage had the measure of both the Danes. But your point is a good one , desire and dedication is the most important thing in any tough sport.I could never of imagined Bruce riding and dropping down the levels though he was to good to do that.Looking back Penhall must have regrets he had this crazy dream about acting it has not worked out for him and speedway lost out in the long run.
  18. Gavan what Poole side would you of tried to assemble this year? i am really surprised there team is not based on the Holder brother's , Kurtz, Shanes,Woryna a youthful and fresh look about it.
  19. In a way Bjorn was similar to Penhall both retired far to early and yes Bjorn would of been a massive threat to Ivan in the late 60s.Penhall was the same i am convinced Nielsen/ Gundersen would not of won seven titles between them if Penhall had not retired.
  20. A very good signing for the Lions he was very impressive in the U21 meeting at King's Lynn very quick a very good gater .After Drabik he is in a group of real talent coming through in Poland Smektala,Kubera (ect) a great signing for our league.
  21. Great rider i wish him the best for the long road ahead i hope maybe he can stay involved in speedway in some capacity.
  22. I dont think those sides are great they could put together better sides than that.
  23. I have often thought would history of been so much different if Peter Craven had not been killed. He was only 29 he would of been a contender i would imagine up until 68/70? how would he compare to Fundin, Knutsson, Briggs,Moore.?
  24. Graham Guthrie superb at Swindon, John Sutton also very good.
  25. If you go on to you tube and watch the Briggo golden greats 89 at Landshut Bjorn rode in that. After a ride he really got going can remember Bettsy looking brilliant and Briggo was also superb riding the fence.
