Sidney the robin replied to WestGorton1884's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The club has always been run well and often the club being loyal fitted in with there budget. For me i prefer continuity i hate loads of changes every year in the teams. -
So where did it all go wrong?

In those days WK it was all about being entertained you are right now it bloody annoys me when people say you have to have riders who can only improve what about riders who give there all and entertain.Winning is not everything try to win but not at any cost winning is not everything there can only be one winner. What would you rather WK ? be entertained have a good night out with friends and win nothing or watch a team that wins every week but the entertainment value is non existent. -
All i can say is all you King's Lynn fans deserve better does Chapman ever listen surely he knew this year he had to win SOME people's trust back again.Puk it will be great if he is back i am a big fan but is he the force of old i am not so sure.Proctor just don't get it why would you take him on that average what about Wozniak maybe? a real tough season ahead i just hope your crowds hold up.

Good post and it is not about being right or wrong Morris,Kurtz,Fricke,J.Holder are all riders i would pay 18 pounds to see ride. I have enjoyed watching Nick progress and Rosco should take alot of credit for that.
-
The Kurtz v Morris debate is very interesting just looked up some stats Morris rode with the World Champion 39 times in the season Doyle won 22/17 just shows you Morris had the tougher campaign both are very talented along with Fricke and J.Holder.
-
With Doyle out of the way i expect Morris to kick on again he is more consistent than Kurtz and the league is weaker this year.At home i expect Morris to really excell double figures plus every week that is how good he is at the Abbey.
-
I believe he has really progressed nicely a steady burner like Thorssell at Wolves what people forget about Nick is how good he is from the back.He is very tenacious a real racer and i look forward to him progressing further this year.
-
Doyle was not that dominant at Premiership level, Morris never looked out of place riding with him and I believe he can kick on and Morris will be tough to beat at the Abbey.
-
Easier rides how many times did he ride with Doyle ?? and he never ever looked for his partner Morris now can move on and be a proper no 1 Kurtz i rate highly but Morris and Fricke are better riders at this moment.

Belle Vue 2018

Pickering would be a great choice his career is on the up and I would love Fricke to push on and be a number 1 he has the ability just needs the consistency.Belle Vue,Leicester,Swindon,Poole all look to have decent sides i don't care who wins just hope we see some decent racing along the way. -
Sundstrom was very good at his home track Peterborough to get the figure he did so he will still do well to average eight. He is talented though but Hans for me is a great team man and Poole will miss that.
-
Would not mind a little wager Robin that the Robins are unbeaten at home they look mighty strong there and if Davey can chip in with 2 happy days Ellis is the key for me a big year for him.
-
Bewley,Shanes and Zach W all to make strides this year i believe Shanes could average 4.80 to 5 this year how he is not in the Poole team already is beyond me also is Sundstrom any better than Hans NO he is not.
-
Totally agree Shocker what is three pound today a pint of beer ? also compare that to a 2.80 racing post and the garbage 1 pound Sunday paper rags. Most of the news printed in the speedway star we already know anyway as for this weeks speedway star it was worth the three pound just for the Exeter feature that is superb.
-
I think we have forgotten just how good a motorcyclist Zdenek was he reached the 1979 World Final and was third twice in World ice championship's.
-
You are so cock sure of yourself after last year you would of thought you would of taken a low profile. All the other Poole fans Ray C, Foreverblue (ect) are all pretty grounded people they are hopeful of course but they know it will be tough nothing in speedway is a gimme. As for your take on the Robins total rubbish the top four dont need to improve and Adam and Zach will put a point ( minimum) on there averages i predict Zach will be very solid at home before his spleen injury he was very impressive a rider who has a big future Ellis is the key he could put 1.5 on his average.
-
The speedway star in my opinion is excellent value look at the prices of other sporting magazines or papers the Racing post as a example for me it should be more than 3 pound. Also the 2018 teams line up edition is a terrific read great value that certainly should be a higher price.
-
Zdenek did they used to call him Kermit? he was one exciting rider i can remember on a cold i think it was a November? night at the Abbey 1979 the track was dodgy but he gave it everything he was great value.
-
Oxford and Reading i did those regularly for three or four years followed Malc Holloway so got to see PerJonsson alot and well Nielsen ( was not a fan but got to greatly admire him a real class act.Going back to yourself maybe i am wrong Nick Morris photo with your young lad??? maybe that will ring a bell as i said i could be wrong.
-
I think i know you but i wont say owt as that is not right but i remember you went to alot of meetings.I was there for that Halifax match when Crumpie was awesome also remember. winning 40 38 at Reading 1980 Briggs jnr rode and there was a massive spat between Briggo snr and Steve Gresham.
-
I must of been on the same coaches as you as myself,Hagonshocker, did alot of meetings i think i went to Belle Vue a few times for rain offs which was gutting at the time.Trevor Claridge was on those coaches along with Ade Fisher and they were great days loved Hyde Rd and the Shay especially today is not quite the same but when you see a great race you still get a buzz..
-
I think Hans deserved the rub of the green in that incident as he had been very unlucky before. That incident as in the Penhall/Carter clash for me the rule is wrong no one could be sure in either case so all four should of been back in.Knudsen was a very good rider at his best very fast as you said at Cowley i saw alot of tough encounters between the two and the top three Danes at there best were formidable.
-
Very interesting Steve, was Hans lucky in 86?

SGB Premiership Confirmed signings 2018.
Sidney the robin replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Woryna who i rate comes in on a joke average yet Jacobs who could of been given a reduction is left high and dry and him being British makes it even worse.
