  1. None of us know the full facts of the Belle Vue situation but all i know is that Chris would of certainly been involved in speedway still in some capacity. i just hope that door is not totally closed and he will be back involved in the sport that he loves in the future.
  2. As WK said on another thread nothing ever changes with you sniping away as usual why don't you stay on the other threads. As for Dave Morton he did average 10.18 for Hackney in 1976 so he was far from being an also ran as you suggest you probably can't remember him to be honest.!!!!
  3. Phil Crump was the main Aussie for me i was lucky anough to watch him regularly and the guy was so consistent.I first see him ride for King's Lynn i never did see him ride for Crewe and then after that he would always pile up huge points for Newport and like at Mildura nearly unbeatable at Somerton Park.Billy Sanders also i was a huge fan of very classy and before his devastating death had really pushed on in career he was at that point certainly in the top eight riders in the world. A big regret was only seeing Jim Airey ride once another class act, Leigh Adams what a classy rider to have the pleasure of seeing him and for a short time the amazing Darcy Ward at the Abbey was a huge treat.Swindon have been lucky to have had some great riders ride for them over the years right up until last season with the present World Champ Doyley.
  4. A really spectacular racer who would not of been far off off the level around the unique Hyde Rd as PC his pass of Carter in the 1983 Northern Riders championship was sublime. And that was the Carter who i think was the best visiting rider to grace the Hyde Rd track Morton often gets forgotten but for his longevity and consistency a legend and also a terrific person to.
  5. Are you for REAL is it harder really? he will achieve 3 plus easily god what planet are you on Poole don't need to worry about Shanes other riders need to step up to the plate.
  6. I just wondered how Chris Morton was getting along such a shame he is not involved in speedway i just hope speedway does not forget him.I certainly won't a great man and rider and it bugs me that he is not involved in the sport he loves i wish Chris all the luck in the future and would love him to be able to go back to the new Belle Vue regularly.
  7. I really think Zach/James can kick on this year before Zach's injury he was going great guns it got to the stage where i expected him to score five/sixes at home every week a tidy little rider.Entertainment wise Shanes is terrific value also he has real talent a big year for the lad hope he does well hope you and the family are well Shocker see you for a pint in March.!!!!
  8. I see James at the Abbey at the back end of last season and after a slow start he really was on the pace by the end of the meeting. At home he averaged five so i believe he can better that away will be tough but his final average was about 2.90 ish??? I think he can get that average up to 4.70 In this team he should not have to much pressure unlike say a Zak W at Swindon who will have to score like a senior reserve.
  9. Sorry salty i owe you half a shandy gutted sorry .!,
  10. He could put a point or two on his average i hope so a nice bloke very exciting to watch he has impressed me.
  11. Yes i thought that as my club i believe would of struggled to be able to afford Doyle a real shame but Speedway clubs need to be able to balance the books.Saying that this year could be good one clubs look closer together in ability which should produce close encounters.
  12. That is what is crazy with this one 8 point man only, the opportunity was there to entice more stars back clubs only doing it if they could afford it.I actually think Poole,Belle Vue,Leicester especially have essembled exciting teams this year they are the teams i am most looking forward to s seeing.Maybe Pawlicki, Tai, Zagar (etc might be enticed back to the UK in the future i hope you feeling better and you could be well anough for the start of the season.
  13. The Poole track though Steve could be a big concern it has been poor for along time now i really liked Woryna when he rode for Coventry and now he is different gravy.I can see him averaging over 7, M.S in the top five i am not totally convinced with he will do well to average anywhere near 6.7 in my view at reserve he will be fine.
  14. All those Poole riders have question marks over them for me i just think i would trust those Belle Vue riders more certainly at home. Also Belle Vue by the end of the season have the best reserve in the league and i actually think Bewley could later on stay in the top five all season. If Woryna averages well over seven which i believe he will then that will push Poole on easily into the top four but Sundstrom i am not convinced with he is certainly no better than Andersen but Poole really have an exciting team but something in the back of my mind niggles away at me i am not totally convinced like some.
  15. I think Drozdz is worth a punt what i have seen of him he looks like he could be very useful away will be a learning curve for him but he will be fine at home.A really strong top four with a young talent at reserve also Etheridge can contribute.I just think this side has a better balance to it than say with Smith at reserve and a lasse Bjerre or Hougaard in i am not a fan of either of those two.
  16. I like the look of this team Fricke and Cook can improve Bewley is an imerging talent and Worrall can add a bit more consistency. Also even though Etheridge did not score many on his visit to the Abbey he has something and will do ok at home.I did think Belle Vue might of gone for Pickering instead but Etheridge will do ok fingers crossed that Fricke kicks on this year Belle Vue need him to this side with the new pole will be exciting to watch.
  17. I first took my youngest son back in the PL days and Iversen was on the scene with Newport at that time we all thought Gjedde was the business.I don't think any of us thought that PUK would go on to have the career he has had great value can't wait to see him ride again can he get back in the series? i hope so.
  18. To be honest i think the UK needs to plan ahead without the GP stars the money is not there anymore. This year the teams apart from King's Lynn/Rye House look pretty evenly matched hopefully the season is a good one.
  19. Lindgren has reinvented himself for me a top eight rider in the world. In England apart from maybe one year Freddie has been terrific given great service a great team man and in this moment in time a level ahead of Niels.Even when Niels was in his Pom in the EL he was never that impressive at the Abbey this year is a massive year for Iversen is he regressing ?i hope not .Will the likes of Kurtz,Morris young number ones get the better of him it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
  20. I can't agree with that Lindgren has showed tremendous character to regroup and get his career back on track after a poor year.He is definitely a top eight rider now in the world and that has really surprised me Iversen is the same position that Lindgren was in needs he to prove he is still a force at top level I hope he does it.
  21. Three meeting's a modest 1.5 average he started his proper education at the Newport Wasps alongside Watson/Smart .Anyway hope he does well but i think Kings Lynn will be bottom of the league.
  22. Great to see Puk back i am a big fan of his, i remember him starting out at Newport i can remember a few battles with Gjedde at Swindon.I hope he has a great season proves a point and gets back into the GP,circus it will be hard but he has a chance.
  23. I bet WK can't wait to cheer Ludde on again it has been a fair while!!!!
  24. Swindon, Poole,Belle Vue,Wolves would be my picks for the play/offs. Zach W to surprise and more than be a match at home against most reserves he will kick on Ellis is the key he can progress again Swindon will be hard to beat at home.Poole look exciting a few question marks to answer but Woryna to average over 7 i believe can Holder get back.? Belle Vue are my favourites Fricke and Bewley have huge potential Cook a great team man and Tungate to improve.Wolves as always will be good at home and as usual you will have to respect them Thorssell to hold his own as number 1.
  25. If the Polish ruling is not relaxed could that mean Klindt and another maybe a Toft or Auty type? meaning no place for James.
