Good luck all the best you still have two kids to focus on for the future.

What i cant understand is that a few King's Lynn fans have ridiculed some for voicing there opinion they insinuate they are moaning for the sake of it.Some of these are long serving supporters who only want what is best for King's Lynn speedway.Every supporter is important whether you have been going for 50 years or 5 years but if you think about it if clubs lose there diehard supporters the clubs will be knackered not anough of the new blood supporter is coming in to replace these Oldies.
-
I don't who you are i don't care either to be honest, but King's Lynn need to win support back from supporters who have been let down Haza is he that wrong in what he says.?
-
I feel the same way Haza ok winning is nice but would you rather win everyweek watching alot of dross or go there win or lose coming away thinking god that was a good night out. It does bemuse me that some people have to win at all costs for me enjoy the company of good friends and have a good night out that is what it is all about. At Swindon in Rossiter a passionate bloke who does not always like what he hears but he does LISTEN and i believe him along with Lee Kilby are two forward thinking people at Swindon.Could Mr Chapman of opologised about last year? i think so and a memory of mine last year was his interview at Swindon on BT it was a utter disgrace cringeworthy to be honest anyway i hope you enjoy your speedway in 2018 Haza.

How do you think the season will go JC ? does the promotion need to win back the respect of the supporters again i believe so.The dangerous thing for me is there are a few real die hard supporters on here who the club are not that far off losing forever a dangerous situation .I have to say i am not that convinced with the team assembled so far but fingers crossed they are competitive Kings Lynn are a great club and i hope they can mix it this year. For me the important thing is to get the racing back to a good standard god thirty years ago King's Lynn was certainly in the top five racetracks in the U.K now it seems a different track it seems like it is to quick there now but they can get the track back at its best it is a great racetrack.
-
I watch alot of the Polish racing and what a great product it is to. Outside of the top boys who are next in line to break through be interesting to get some predictions. Drabik - Smektala- Woryna- Kubera out of those four for me Drabik will definitely be a GP rider Smektala i really like has improved alot in my opinion Woryna to has real talent the strength in depth Poland have is frightening.
-
It was not the best of Finals i really wanted Lee or Autrey to win it but it was not to be also supported Jan Andersson but he struggled and only scored 3 points.Wembley as an occasion was something else the racing not the best but the Atmosphere was something else to be fair though Len Silver did produce a great track for the 81 final..
-
You are the only one on all threads who have actually said give Chris a chance to comeback in some capacity.Myself i would love it if the sport would get Chris get involved again i would encourage that tomorrow but it won't happen.
-
Would they allow training schools on a Saturday now BV, ? with health and safety and noise issues i doubt it that is one of the reasons young riders are not coming through now not anough track time. With the old second halves quite a few novices come through the system reached there level now most of the talent are Moto cross and grass riders be great to have tracks open to all classes bikes to rent and who knows who might come through a pipe dream i know.
-
I would say the Vue 72 side just had the edge on the Cradley 83 side both great sides. It just makes you wonder if the late great Dent Oliver had not have passed on how much more silverwear would the Vue have won.He produced a conveyor belt of talent for his club over a period.

Been told at home Steve endless times that i am a Dinosaur and that Barry Briggs and Stanley Matthews have both now retired.!!!!
-
I can remember Blackbird beating him Knudsen and Erik both had good head to head records against Hans also Doncaster, Nilsen ,S.Moran P.Thorp, beat him.But as you said for a couple of seasons in the league he hardly dropped a point unbelievable and in my view actually helped the ex robin Per Sorensen and Martin Dugard become better riders NEILSEN 1986 figure 11.57.??
-
Great post interesting reading, does Duggan often get forgotten norbold? going back to Ivan does that 11.74 average still stand ? i thought someone said it was changed in later years because of a tape exclusion. If so would HANS have the top figure.? Mauger again his 1973/77 spell at Exeter was terrific posting two averages. well over 11 and his lowest average was only 10.50!!!
-
1969 King's Lynn Red flag Simmons/Featherby got a 5/1 against Ivan and believe it not 1970 at Wimbledon Hedge/Tebby Moore/ Maidment got two consecutive 5.1 s against Ivan in heats 1 and 5.
-
God he was not always flavour of the month at Swindon Steve, one incident with Kilby comes to mind but all fans had to sit back and admire him.He was booed but fans stood up and realised just how good he was. I can always remember someone asking Mike Tyson was he hurt when he was booed badly at the Holyfield 1 fight he answered no i take it all as a compliment i believe Ivan felt the same he shrived on pressure.

Being out of season i have just finished filling out most of Belle Vue's 1972 fixtures. Ivan Mauger his stats are unreal the programmes i have ( maybe a few missing..?) In home and away and individual meeting's he posted 19 - full maximums and plus 4 - paid maximums. In that 23 he won the Northern riders Championship, The Derek Warbuton trophy scored a 15 max in the Australia v New Zealand. International and - A 15 max in a WC round. : N.Boocock 2). - E.Boocock 1) - Olsen2). - Persson 1) - Moore 1) - T. Johansson2) - Kilby 1) - Humphrey's 1) - B.Jansson 2) - Nordin 1 ) Thomas 1 ) they were the only riders to beat him on merit in amongst my programmes. Also he had 21 other rides scoring 45 points out of a possible 63 having lost 18 points through engine failures a brilliant season. What astounds me was i always thought 1968/71 was by far his real peak years but how wrong i was a total legend. The greatest.!!!

My take on Chris is that 99 per cent of us do not know what problems Chris has had to deal with over the last few years. For me he has been a great servant to speedway and this year hopefully people will wipe his slate clean and give him another chance. The talent the guy has is unreal and he now is back at his home Poole that he feels most comfortable at he is at the right place.I for one would love to see Chris bulldoze his way back to the top echoleon's of the sport he is capable can he do it ? we shall see.
-
Very impressed with his attitude seems very professional think Steady had a big input on him coming to the UK he will be a massive help for set/ups and general pep talks.I believe his home track will be a test for him but he will conquer that refreshing for him to believe that riding here will help his WC claims cant wait to see him ride.
-
How do you think Martin Vaculik will fare in the U.K personally i can't wait to see him ride he is a World class rider a top eight performer for me.Really interesting reading that Martin believes conquering the technical tracks in Britain will help his quest to try to be World Champion i think he will be a big hit over here.
-
I think Zach W will surprise Steve i think at home he will score really well hopefully the confidence will transfer to scoring more away points.

Sidney the robin replied to Gavan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think Thorssell with added responsibility could do a great job he improved greatly away from home last year .I think Thorssell, Fricke,Jack Holder will all do great jobs and improve Thorssell certainly has learned his trade the hard way when in front mighty fast and hard to peg back. -
Sad news Ron along with John Berry and the Louis family are all legends, Ipswich speedway running through there veins Ron was also a very good rider RIP.

He rode one meeting i believe Steve in 1973 before his scaphoid injury the next three years were the pinnacle of his career. He averaged over 10.5 twice and a 11.15 average 74,75,76, He had a bad injury with Martin Ashby at Sheffield in 77 but he came back and always averaged between 9 .5 and 10 points a meeting if only he had put his Streety conversion away for the World Final 75/76 he had every chance great rider though. -

Going back before that Salty Gordon Guasco,Geoff Curtis, both sadly killed were very good riders Les Sharpe, Dennis Gavros,Bob Jameson,Greg Kentwell ,Paul Oneill all very popular at Halifax.Favourites of mine later on were Ron Henderson, Rod Hunter,Stan Bear,Steve Baker,Rob Ashton the Aussies have really unearthed some real talent at all levels over the years who i have really enjoyed watching.
