How did Hume go Fromafar? just hope Ippo stick with him and Mountain both have something Hume is raw but coming back from a serious injury was always going to be hard.Just think Hume has a real bright future great win for Berwick nice to see the Swede do well as he is better rider than some of his scores suggest.

Why would Rossiter go there??? at Swindon he has a job there as long as he want's it and he has full authority on the everyear line up.At Poole Ford has two much input and for me Middlo takes the rap often because of the mistakes Ford has made.

I have followed the youth scene for a while and thing's are looking pretty good for the future and for me Neil Vatcher is a unsung hero he has really pushed us on as a nation. He does a great job his enthusiasm is infectious and it would be great if a few Brits can crack it and actually go on and have good speedway career's.Lambert leading the way Bewley improving by the minute and the likes of Saunders,Kemp,Flint,Rowe,Atkins, (etc) doing great the future looks exciting just thought Neil deserves lots of credit.

Honestly this post is way off the mark both the Poles have been disappointing Woryna who i rate i believed he would average over 7 but has had a slow start. He will come good patience is needed MS i have always believed was overated god he is not even cutting the mustard at reserve and i would imagine he does not come cheap. He is a typical rider who gets a spot yet Brits like R.Worrall,Auty,Garrity miss out it is not right in my opinion.Nielsen is a strange change i have seen him at Swindon and i was never a fan and i don't see him as a improvement on Shanes. But Ford panicking already is not a good sign and in the last three years his panic signings have consisted of Kennett,Lahti,Zengota,Kerr,Starke (etc) and none of them were the answer. Also his decisions on Howarth,Ellis were poor and the Robins now have a great rider for the future worrying times ahead for the Pirates.I still believe they will make the play/offs and would never right them off but they must pray that Chris comes back and shows his 9 plus average form

The British Final this year must be one of the most open finals in years it should be a cracker.Looking at the World team cup squad i would pick Tai, Lambert,Cook,Ellis,Bewley and looking at it we have a very promising set of riders to back Tai up.I have seen quite a bit of Ellis over the last few years and what huge strides he has made what a mega mistake Poole made in letting him go they stuck with Newman yet let Ellis and Howarth go staggering really.Ellis last week at the Abbey fell twice when in commanding position's he was super quick and i predict he can be a solid 2nd heat leader within 3 years. Also with Adam as well he takes no prisoners tough as they come mixing it in the first bend great news for Swindon for the future we could base the side around Nick /Adam for years to come.

I take my hat off to you you have showed terrific character and you obviously are mentally strong and i wish you well in your recovery.Looking in from the outside are you in front of schedule of getting back to nearly full health? for me for you to get to see the Pirates as soon as you have is a miracle.Again good luck for the future and it has certainly made me think again when moaning at home about trivial things that in reality are not important.

Will young Anders Rowe fill in for the meantime? does the replacement have to be a 2 pointer.?
-
Steve Gresham met once and was a nice bloke____ Crump(snr) Bobby Ott, Preben Eriksen were all tough riders but Tim Hunt takes the accolade of being the dirtiest rider i ever saw.

We cant ever forget Wilkie can we!!! and mad wellie Malc Holloway (sadly missed) never forget him demolishing the Abbey's flowerbeds.

Dave Gifford , Ross Gilbertson,Graeme Smith,Barney Kennett,Kelvin Mullarkey all great servants to speedway and were all real characters.

Chris Pusey, Alan Cowland, Les Red Ott , and Tony Clarke would be a few to mention.

I for one will never write your team off great support from your supporters last night. And last night it was worth the entrance money alone just to see young Kurtz ride a classy rider improving fast Middlo i have alot of time for and i am sure the tide will turn soon for the Pirates.

Only guessing not sure!!! good rider and a mega association with Newcastle which is still going strong they had some great sides Joe/Tom Rod Hunter,Ron Henderson, Blackadder, and later Carter they were a real force in a very good NL.As for Dave only see ride twice for Halifax and once for Cradley my uncle who first took me said he was good he kept harping on about Forrest, Booey ,,Younghusband and he was a fan of Les Sharpe who he felt was very inconsistent. -

Great post thanks a lot. what was your favourite track ? the Shay you and Booey were pretty hard to beat 67/71 only see you ride twice but my uncle told me you were pretty good what can you remember of the Owlerton championship round ??? when you were not happy.!! -
We don't know the full facts the whole true story so i will not comment but for me PC was a great rider was proud to ride for Belle Vue and England and was a decent chap to a proper racer a great ambassador for our sport. It did make me think after Ivan's passing that PC/Ole/Michanek/Lee were only the few with maybe T.Jansson, Crump who were really capable of beating Ivan regularly after 1973 when he was in his his peak years a real compliment that to Ivan.It just shows just how good he was because all those riders named were class.

How long did it take Ivan to master the Brough track ? and how much different was it compared to today's track i have only been to Brough twice once in 1978 and once in 1984 after there venture into the BL.I enjoyed both visits Malcolm Holloway once told me he found Brough one of the hardest tracks to ride and i can remember him being very disappointed with his performance in one of the WC qualifying rounds there in either 1984 or 85.? -

Thanks ORLOV god those owners don't half screw the promotion annoying really because the club we all love has done a hell of a job surviving every year since 1949.
