The difficult thing is Endeavour is your make up of a terrific top three plus a very progressive Thomson it does make you vulnerable down the bottom end even at home.Lawson and Greaves both are not in/out top 5 riders and they won’t be regularly banging in big scores at reserve either .Last night Poole scored 14 pts from Cook, Hume, Bickley Edinburgh scored 5 pts from Lawson, Greaves, Crang. -

What about Kinsley or Jenkins ? that would even be a big ask for them. But after a layoff expecting Mark to be the answer was asking alot the Championship is very tough in the reserve berths. -
Not really Barry gated and if he had made a mistake Ivan would of been through.

How the Briggs v Mauger clash was never shown on ITV is baffling i have only seen it on a Polish edition video in which Bob Radford lent me.

Poole vs Edinburgh 4/8/21

It should be a good meeting tonight, Edinburgh never to be underestimated a home win for me though.Looking through the two sides the reserves could make the difference for Poole , one of them might also might have one of Bickley’s rides ? which could be crucial.Bickley/ Lawson could be important tonight there points along with Hume/ Greaves could decide it. -
Barry should of won it on 14 though Steve !!! but Bernie the bolt ( RIP i held no grudges against him) had different ideas.
-
Norbold do you think that Biggs bottled it ( nerves got to him) in his last ride or you just think it was meant to be.? Young then became the first 2nd division rider to win a title and what a rider Jack was often think Aub Lawson gets forgotten though.Another year that i had forgotten about that was strange was in 1993 when SAM won it .He won his first four starts and then ran a last Hans Nielsen and Chris Louis ending up behind second and third on 11 points each.
-
Don’t quote me on this Steve ( if I am wrong BL65/ Norbold, will put me right !!!). But in my reckoning Jack Young, 1951. ______ Tony Rickardsson.1994. all won the title on twelve points with only two wins each.YOUNG was behind Waterman ( 3 wins) BIGGS ( 4 wins) in his title win Biggs ran a last in his last outing. Tony Rickardsson 1994 ————. had two wins and beat Nielsen / Boyce in a runoff Hans was very unlucky had four wins and a exclusion in his 12 point total.

Yes Mark was very consistent and rode to the rules that were in place at the time he deserved his win.A crazy rule though if you look back though , BUT realistically was a rider ever likely to win a World Title on 10 points without winning a race.?

The three you named Charlie ; touch wood all of them will all go on and progress in there career.I like all three of those lads.Brennan and Rowe i have followed ever since there mini track appearances at Swindon . Brennan was impressive in a few appearances for the Robins a couple of seasons ago Rowe has also made huge strides in a short amount of time.

Was he unlucky in one race Charlie? where Adam fell which cost Danyon points…? I think with the tracks that are in the prem he would be a better option than James, and i liked James even though his spell at Swindon didn’t work out.Maybe it is much to soon for Hume but one thing is he is is a racer and he can pop out the gate in races when you expect him to get nothing.

Maybe that explains it , but god this sport is obsessed with endless rules wouldn’t it better to try to keep it basic and encourage continuity. -

Totally right Ryan and as with Danyon Hume he certainly deserves a prolonged run in a Championship team.If he sticks at it and he keeps up his impressive NL form he will get there. -

I hope your are right Ryan as i like Kinsley as a rider, but if you look at the reserves in the Championship it is really tough.Could not see him scoring many points exspecially away at number 6 -

Birmingham Brummies 2020

Mike some great points there myself personally i am sick to death of the sport’s pathetic rules nothing ever changes. The Championship as a product looks half decent but the Premiership well i have no interest in whatsoever to be frank it is poor value it is a league in name only. -

Totally right it helps to have a winning team of course, but my take is the number one priority is for the fans to have a great night out and to be entertained.Birmingham being a massive catchment area with many more things to do , maybe some people may not have missed speedway as much as they thought they would.I am in that category with no speedway at Swindon it was my life for years but the real truth is i haven’t missed it as much as i thought i would.I still love the sport and when it is good it is good but generally speaking is it value for money ? it is not a cheap night out now for a family.I will take in a few meeting at Poole this year and maybe Plymouth but if Swindon does not return ( very unlikely) i cannot see myself being a week in week out supporter again.Fingers crossed for the Brummies great supporters great club just hope they can survive this crisis. -

I would be surprised Lisa , if Danny King didn’t have a huge input on getting Danyon this chance.Danny has helped him develop as a rider over the last few years great to see some young Brit’s coming through. -

Great post, when mentioning Danyon and the supporters who supported him i missed out Sings 4 speedway ( sorry) .He has seen alot more of Danyon than me and he always gave him a good shout.Danyon's main asset for me is his personality a dream rider to have as a teammate old school in that respect. My only worry is not to expect to much everyweek and for him to override by over trying chuffed another Brit is climbing the ladder i really like Danyon, Thompson x2, Flint, Palin, all riders who have a future. -

Bob myself and a few Leicester/ Birmingham fans on the forum were saying this over two years ago just how unlucky Danyon had been. His career started brilliantly at Ipswich and he ended up with quite a high average which often hampered his chances of getting a spot in the Championship. He had a great year at Birmingham interrupted by injury ironically at Poole but had a good year average wise. After not getting a spot at Championship level he had a great spearhead year with Ellis Perks at Leicester and was superb all year but limited rides came to him at Championship level. It was so frustrating when the likes of Bickley/ Smith ( ect) were getting prolonged runs in championship sides and the likes of Castagna at Birmingham were taking up spots yet Danyon was being frozen out.Now i believe he is at the right club and with Middlo helping him along he should keep improving i imagine the home crowd love watching him ride as he adds excitement.Hope he stays injury free and carries on how he is doing if the Pirates can get Cook back they will be in the mix for sure this year.
