  1. 1968 Swindon Great Britain v Sweden. Hunter ,Luckhurst. - Lars Jansson B. Larsson all at number 7/8 6 man teams in a 18 heat format..
  2. With who? the team in place will see us into the playoffs then all to play for the side essembled at the start of the season i thought top four so nothing's changed for me.
  3. Would that make that much of a difference ? we need our top five firing before anything else. Also if i remember rightly Smith beat Clegg 2.1 in there meetings a couple of months ago.
  4. Taking a gamble now would be madness the situation is entirely different to the Tomasz situation from last year stay loyal see how it pans out.
  5. I just dont see it myself ( ie) Rosco is loyal to his riders and that is a brilliant thing and he would not make that particular change anyway. And also are we going to win anymore AWAY matches with Krystian in the side NO because he has still to learn those away tracks yet also he is unproven around the Abbey.
  6. I read the Adver on Tuesday for the match report and i know the club needs this big storm to blow over but it said basically the Robins back on track. Not alot said about the state of the track look we all know it is a hard job to get the track in good shape and it is a thankless task for some. But the worst thing about it was it was on live TV and this should never of happened also having a 2 hour programme dominated by the tractor was just awful.Just hope Monday things are better look i am not putting the boot in to my club but if this at happened at Poole on Monday there would of been a public uproar .
  7. I think he was only axed because of money he is a very talented rider but i think he is quite expensive for a rider who has a 6.36 average.
  8. If we leave the Abbey i think that could be it for Swindon speedway i can't see us getting an alternative site and even if we do that will take time.I know it is long shot but if the worst scenario happens could Cowley Oxford be a option.?
  9. Last night was the dustiest meeting i have been to since the Wembley 1975 World Final ( Collins unlucky conditions changed).Last night it was so dusty people were laughing about it it was like being outside the Swindon Crematorium terrible.I notice now and even Doyley did it last week entering bend 1 people are shutting off the track is so unpredictable Morris has fell off twice in a week in the same place something is not right is it just the track or are bikes just to quick now I don't know the answer.
  10. Totally agree the sport has to act last night seriously made me think that speedway wont be at the Abbey in 2019 i pray that i am wrong.Even if it is there next year who will keep going to watch the dire entertainment dished up.
  11. Got home last night thinking god that was bad embarrassing but it looked ten times worse on the TV. My oldest son was p.....g himself laughing when he saw the smoke on the TV he said there was more chance of passing on the M4.It is the worst tv event i can remember since the EBDON farce at Ipswich in the England test match.
  12. Have i ever watched a worst meeting than that last night i can't remember one the track was an absolute disgrace. The racing over the past three years has been really dire and i don't know what others think but i have got to the stage of do i really want to go everyweek. The tractor was the star of the show and i ended up going home looking like Michael Jackson the dust was horrendous on bend two.The track now is unrecognisable to the one that hosted England v USA test matches a bad day for the sport last night and god knows what BT Sport think.
  13. It was very very poor blueboy but i would say it has to be one of the worst tracks i have ever seen bloody awful.
  14. Should be a home win tonight but we should not take anything for granted the top five will all have to be on there game. With Leicester i can see them sharing races but i dont see to many heat winners in amongst them just hope the racing is better than it has been recently.
  15. Can the public get into the pits tonight as usual or is that a No/No because of BT.?
  16. You are joking i would stick with R/R Danyon might be back in 4/5 weeks?????
  17. Ok we get it you dont like Auty but you cant deny he has upped his game this year the princible is still the same you look after all the Brits whoever it is.
  18. He is a example of why all Brits should be looked after first i cant ever see a local Pole being shafted for a mediocre foreigner can you.?saying that Poole are used to mediocrity in the last couple of seasons.
  19. He had a very good debut season here averaging nearly five points a meeting that was when the tracks in this Country were varied. He carried on riding in the States did well at dirt track but unfortunately was killed in 1975 at Ascot Park aged only 30. RIP
  20. Good old Steve who ent got a cliue what are you on about god you are clueless.
  21. Heard rumours on Thursday and it was not nice to hear, apparently people who bought houses by the pits were told the new stadium would happen they can object now legally.I thought the back straight at the Abbey would be narrowed and houses put upside i worry now bigtime think this might be our last season at the abbey pray i am wrong.!!
  22. A very important meeting this for both clubs Kings Lynn coming off that brilliant away win to win this i believe.Poole I think have to win this meeting to have any chance of getting a top four place. For the Stars Proctor at reserve is a bonus and i have noticed Jorgensen has hit a bit of form lately he is important Klindt for Poole is key as well if the track is grippy even if he gates he can be picked off.
  23. This post maybe shows me you COULD????? be a genuine guy.I have been a Swindon supporter since 1968 but from 1983 until 1989 went to Reading most weeks.Loved the Monday night out and when the track was good Smallmead was decent night out some real good racing.Reading in that time had a couple of years where they were really challenging for the title i remember one year they were there right there to the end in the title race with Belle Vue and Ipswich. To see Per Jonsson develope the way he did was terrific he was worth going to Reading everyweek to see him a real class act Per and Gustafson at Kings Lynn both were classy.
  24. I would say generally the last three years it has been poor and i have said endless times forget the teams forget the averages forget the rules. The sport needs to concentrate on making it a decent night out entertainment comes way before winning or losing at the moment that is not happening.
