  1. Well done to the Poole Pirates got the job done i just hope the promoters can now get together and try and take the sport forward fingers crossed.
  2. Nobody has mentioned him but i think Simon Lambert has really contributed to a great team effort punching well above his weight.
  3. What surprises me about the Anders situation is Rosco knows the history about the Swindon faithfull loving a young local english lad mixing it with the big boys. Are record in the past with Crash, Kilb,Dukey,Keener,Wellie,Alun, Martin Hewlett the Smart/ Chessell bros is excellent and last night i just felt gutted for Anders.
  4. A bit like a young Dugard or Woods then both went on and improved Dugard i rated highly. What surprised me again last night City was for a NL rider how much pace he had he kept the bike running no shutting off.
  5. A real shame that City also it hurts me to say it but the track has had its day now it needs to be changed.Maybe the straights are two long for the modern day bike? who knows.I know you watch alot of N.L speedway what do you think of young Brennan? he looks good noticed last night not shutting off really on the pace.
  6. A sad night for me last night another poor night's entertainment again a real borefest. The only pluses were Musielak and young Brennan who looks impressive.Speedway does not seem to grasp that fans want a swift and prompt meeting last night delays galore god knows what the ref was on forever holding the tapes. The crowd considering was pretty good even after Rossiter's silly comment beforehand that was not wise in my opinion. Also can Rosco explain two things ? why did he replace Brennan in heat 8 with the poor Sarjeant baffling i would of been certain Brennan would of seen off young Bickley again. Also why was Anders Rowe not in that meaningless meeting? he is our number 8 why was Sarjeant there. He was an ex rider an ex junior sprocket who was given chances along the way he should of understood .That was very disappointing for me youngsters should get chances i am just glad this crappy season is over.
  7. Carter for me was the best visiting rider i saw at Hyde Rd i only see him in BLRC but the place was made for him.I always thought if he had stayed alive he would of rode for the Aces at some stage in his career. If he had stayed FIT could he have won at Bradford 85?he would of had a real chance i believe.
  8. Be great if he is,main thing is for Tom to have no pressure and to enjoy himself.
  9. With the result meaning nothing and Belle Vue doing a great thing by giving young Bickley his debut surely young Rowe should get a go instead of Zach.He would be up against Smith and Bickley so it would be a great chance for our no 8 to gain long term experience.
  10. Spot on you had no knowledge of the riders riding in the late 60s,70s or 80s did you you never see them ride.Yet you make things up as you go along to suit your own argument pretty sad really but nothing changes.
  11. Thanks alot Barry great stuff will make it over next year hopefully will stay overnight.
  12. No i think Grachan answered your posts brilliantly and he does not care if he is right or wrong and neither do i. Also Grachan has seen those riders so his opinion!!!!!!! is more valid.Wont mention it again but will enjoy telling you again i do believe the top riders and the BL from 1969-1986 was of a very high standard and i will never waver from that averages or no averages.
  13. What do you recon 12/16 weeks if you are lucky ( light /weather issues) to do the work that is a big ask.
  14. I liked Smallmead i had some of my best Speedway night's there on a Monday night.
  15. How will the new track look? similar to Somerset maybe.
  16. Total rubbish from someone who probably did not see him ride and that comment is insulting to Ashby honestly to TRY to win a debate you don't half scrape the barrel.By the way another one for you to try to talk down Penhall,Gundersen, Grahame,Collins CRADLEY did those four have inflated averages ???? ( only 2 future champs in there) why don't you ask Peter Adams how good those four were.!!!!
  17. All i know is most teams in the BL had an in/out number 1 and usually two good heat leaders as well put averages to one side for a moment..Belle Vue ( 1972 )Mauger Collins Sjosten Pusey we saw them our own eye told us that they were good riders. Also go back to the British Finals with the Aussies/ New Zealander's in mega line ups your instinct told you they were good riders the level was high.Chunky is SPOT on though and he could well be right nobody can prove it my take on it is go on your own instinct and experience and decide that way.
  18. I would say though Witcher forget averages formats (ect) those riders rode in a era that was a far higher standard that Tai has ever rode in over here.As Ove pointed out Tai has never really been pushed in the Uk what i would say is Tai has rode in a mega tough Polish league for years My point is the old British league was of a high standard everyweek tough different tracks different challenges at one time it was the BEST.
  19. Think you are spot on OVE i bet you feel privalaged that you have seen so many great riders in your lifetime!!!!.Every rider can only beat what is put in front of him also now the bikes have changed one hell of alot.My few regrets that i have in speedway are that i never saw Craven/ Knutsson ride and that i never saw Fundin and Briggs at there peak.
  20. Just felt the pressure was different Bruno you have a poor Gp you know you can regroup and win the next two to make up.In the old format if you needed 8 to qualify and you had two efs you were in trouble.Hand on heart i believe Tai,Bartosz, Doyley, Magic are the only riders at the moment who can win over a longer format that could change. But as you pointed out generally in the 70s did you ever look farther than Mauger, Olsen, Michanek,Lee,Collins ?
