Bspa Chairman - Keith Chapman
DWP replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We have a number of ideas to attract new people to Lynn this season. One idea is to attract more kids, Nicklas and I are visiting Downham market high school in early March. Unfortunately King's Lynn Academy and Springwood high school Principles have not replied to our letter, with our offer to visit the schools to talk to the kids about speedway and the Kings Lynn Stars. -

Totally agree -
I'm not disagreeing with you. I look after a Danish rider who lives in UK. This coming season basics costs are 6 bikes, 6 engines, 3 vans to do UK, Poland and Sweden/Denmark. He is fortunate he has teams in all these countries, most riders are reliant on one or two UK leagues. Add in about 60 flights, hotels etc. Servicing of engines cost a fortune and is required after 25 races. Ignition goes on a bike that's another £600. I won't go into costs of a blown engine. Everything on a speedway bike costs a fortune, it's specialist equipment so manufacturing costs are high. Thankfully a bit of sponsorship helps. But at the end of day there is not much left personally for him. And that's if he gets paid by all his teams. I've jokingly told him financially you would be better off getting a real job but it's something he loves and racing is in his blood. So paying riders less is not the answer. They are not footballers running a round chasing a ball a couple times a week for obscene amounts of money. In the old days riders riders turned up with an old bike on the back of car. If today's riders did that, the promoter would soon ask where 2nd bike was and would probably sack him. So today each rider has to have 2 bikes and all the equipment which goes with it. In defence of promoters, they need £17/18 a person. I'm not going to tell you what my rider gets per point in each country. But as an example in the UK, take a guess of what the cost of 7 riders scoring 48 points in a meeting. Then take crowd size x by £17. After stadium costs, staff, electricity etc. Very little profit if any to the promoter. Costs to riders and to promoters are frighteningly high. Sadly it's something that won't change, it's the world we live in. We all know if your boiler breaks down, something goes wrong with your car and we all think or say when quoted "how much" !! Sad fact is speedway as had its head in the sand for too many years. Promoters have not marketed the sport. Look how down football was at time of Heysel, Bradford, Hillsborough. Marketing of the sport brought in sponsors, TV etc. This is what speedway needs to do. I do know Buster is dealing with this. But it doesn't get solved in 10 minutes. Fans need to keep supporting their teams, but fans need to help the sport to. Persuade friends to go with you. We need to start talking up the sport not keep knocking it down. This winter could have been disastrous, but Belle Vue, Coventry and Leicester are all running in 2017. Perhaps not in ideal situations, especially for you Coventry fans. I hope you are soon back at Brandon. But there are lot of people putting in many hours of work to solve these problems and take the sport forward. Speedway I think is at its lowest ebb, but talking to Buster personally, there are so many good and exciting things on the horizon. Speedway can only go up, you might not agree with me, but I assure with the work being done and if you the fans do your little bit to, we will all see the benefits. Wow this started as a quick comment and ends up as War and Peace lol

Some of you are unbelievable - Coventry problems are Coventry problems. Now people blaming Buster that it's his fault. If I was Buster I'd tell UK speedway to go F..K itself and go retire to a beach. Promoters over last 20 years have destroyed speedway in UK, now you have a man who has the abilityand the passion to try and sort the mess out and people kick him in the teeth. He can't do everything and he can't do it all in 10 mins. Give the man a f..King chance.

Good luck to Belle Vue - hope forth coming news is good. Myself and Nicklas Porsing looking forward to meetings in Manchester when Stars visit you. He hasn't ridden track yet, but it looks like some Polish tracks, big, wide and fast and will suit him.
-
From my knowledge, the track hasn't changed shape for many years now. Actually Lynn riders don't ask for it to be slick, they ask for grip. Generally the starts are very grippy, due to the clay. You can see that when Buster breaks it up before adding fresh shale just before start of the meeting. I don't know why, but the track does seem to go slick after only a few races. The dirt gets pushed out and coming into bend 1 and 3 the track is soon back to a rock hard base shale and very slick. The one thing I and others noticed walking the track before the last meeting 2016, was the amount of gravel in the shale. Something I hadn't seen before especially to this extent. Whether it's a new source of shale I'm not certain. Nick tells me, the stones at Lynn destroy bikes ( wheels and helmets etc) and are bloody painful if you get sprayed by it. He wears a cricket thigh pad to help this, only track he ever wears it. Possibly today's bikes and engines have made Lynn, more gate and go. But I've still seen plenty of overtaking, when the dirt line builds and is not too wet. It could be this new Gerhard engine might help, time will tell.

If Peterborough are still a Sunday track, think you'll find Bomber signed a month ago for Stal Rzeszow in Poland

If the news that Buster will get Leicester racing in 2017. Why are some bitching about it. Coventry in the sh it, Belle Vue bankrupt, Leicester god knows full situation. Haven't heard of any other business men, Olicarchs or Arabs banging on the door of speedway to get involved. Buster is so passionate about speedway, he wants to keep all Clubs running. He's passed the reins of Kings Lynn to Rob Lyon. He can concentrate on being BSPA Chairman and trying to safe guard those Clubs who are in sh it at the moment. I for one want to see speedway come out of the doldrums. I do have some inside knowledge of some of Busters plans re speedway as a whole. He will reveal these when he's good and ready. Perhaps he's passing no info, because at present nothing has been set in stone. Whilst negotiations are going on you don't reveal your hand. This is his first real year as Chairman, last year they made rules before voting him in. So he had his hands tied behind his back during 2016. Now he can do what he has been wanting to do for ages. So those so call fans who are bitching about him, as it stands at present he is the one, with many others helping him, who will turn British speedway round. If you know a better way or person to do it, then tell him or volunteer to help him. Or go and get a £20 million sponsor for British speedway. I'm told British companies are queuing up to invest lol Now off my soap box

Who is Nikolas Porsing it is "Nicklas" -
Skidder1 thank you for your post. apology accepted. I'm very protective of my boy especially when he's done nothing wrong. He has been very down about this, not easy in a foreign country when people make allegations like that. Back home here Thursday - start getting ready for 2017 at Lynn.
-
I said it was all over so why keep raising subject
-
Who is this Skidder1 - I now see you are asking questions re Nicklas on Polish forum. Are you just a rubbish stirrer. I wrote read my statement. So you know, the Police have informed his Club they are not interested in this false story. They haven't spoken to Nicklas and on Tuesday they will be making a statement to say - a drunk girl made a false statement in an attempt to blackmail Nicklas for money. So stop rubbish stirring, this is a young mans life and allegations like this are very damaging. If you knew Nicklas you would know he would never do what he was accused of. We are considering legal actions, I assume you don't wish to be included in this.

No - read my previous posting here No - read my previous posting here

He's really happy and excited to be back at Lynn. He loves living in West Norfolk, he calls this home now rather than Denmark. Get the fans behind Hollywood this season and he will score lots of points. More of him leaving NKI and AJ at the gate as in his first return race last year and passing Danny King to 5-1 with Niels before brick him. So no more bricks in track please, that bloody hurt him being hit by it at near on 100mph. Can't wait for March to come round.

Porsing doesn't have PL average using EL average x 1.4 6.99 -
I have heard from Nicklas, an altercation happened Saturday night whilst he was out with his girlfriend. He has not been arrested, as reported by the Polish press. He has not even been spoken to by the Police. Someone is making an accusation and demanding money. He and his girlfriend are well known in Rzeszow and this is not first time some people, who are very envious have had a go at them both. The Polish Press have made a mountain out of a mole hill and the club Stal Rzeszow are fully aware of the situation and will assist him should anything more come of it. Great comment

Dawid Lampart (Swindon asset) wants a UK team. 6.4 average he can easily put 2 points on that average. Would beat Bellago hands down plus gives Rosco another point to play with.

You're an impatient lot of buggers I know no more than you do. Alright I do know, the management are putting together a team of 7 riders. I also know there is a lot more to be announced than just the team. Be patient all will be revealed, when they have put it all together. Unlike other teams Lynn like to give you ALL the info in one hit rather than than drip feeding info. As a Lynn fan also, I also would love to know the team, but I don't know it. I know Nicklas is doing Rospiggarna, Rzeszow and his Danish team will be announced tomorrow. As with regards to Lynn I cannot say, Buster, Rob and Dale will announce team to you all once they have worked out all the permutations of 7 riders fitting into the 50 point limit. I hope this helps those who like me are itching to know the team. My wife keeps telling me you're on holiday can't you leave bloody speedway alone for a couple a weeks. Then Hollywood facetimes me asking what colour he should dye his hair and that goes out the window. Keep speculating It's fun. We can then see how accurate we all were to the team we hoped for, prayed for. Regards From Costa Rica - David
