King's Lynn Vs Wolverhampton 26/7/2017
DWP replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Buster just told me track before rain was perfect. But it's clay soaks up water. Walking on it is spungy and he was not prepared to get everyone there and then call it off last minute. The guys pulling his hair out but he can't control weather. At least you haven't paid £195 to fly in, then £300 to fly to Poland Friday for zero earnings. Bummmmmer ! -

Hunstsnton to Docking - then Hillington, Gayton, Blackborough End through to Setch. As you reach Setch turn south on A10. Take Next right is narrow road following river and takes you through to Saddlebow Road. I'd guess adding only max 10 miles to journey, but no queues -

If coming up A10 cut through Watlington and across the Fen. Brings you out at stadium avoiding Hardwick Rain forecast 11am to 2pm then clearing out north east. So as long as not torrential we should be Ok for tonight -
Re the track and Holder saga. I have heard, in directly I must admit, that track had had many tonnes of new shale put on it a few days before. The riders complain was they couldn't turn their bikes because the new shale was sliding over the old shale. Understand it felt as if track was moving under the bikes, rather than bikes sliding through the shale. It's a bit like the problem they had at Twinkenham/Cardiff in the 6 nations rugby, when scrummaging. In that case the pitch was sliding over its base surface. I haven't seen any comments from Holder as yet, perhaps when he does comment he may confirm this or not.

That's the reason not Nick back tonight. Thomas was signed 28 day injury for Nick. I believe if Nick comes back early then Club has to release Thomas. After 28 day injury Club can keep Thomas and Nick comes in to replace Lewis. Falls into place Wednesday but not today.

My best comment last year which I told Polish Club manager was " pay him and if you haven't got the money, sell your car or your wife " however seeing his car and his wife neither would raise enough. Ha ha !!!

Ha ha ! I have to be careful what I write here. Would love to give you a lot more information which I know about, but I just can't unless I am instructed to do so. I look after Nicklas, so me saying / writing things here could not overly help his career. I have in the past told the Poles for 2 teams Nick has ridden for, that they are *^#+*#*^+}<€^*%#++>} ....unts!! Funnily enough they don't like being told the truth

I'm not certain of team. But my guess - 1. Batch 2. Thomas 3. RR 4. Robert 5. Kai 6. Nick 7. Simon L I was a guest of Buster in Cardiff, but hardly saw or spoke to him as he went from one meeting to the next. So at moment don't know plans whether they plan to use RR for Holder or replace him. Nick and I are going to see him Wednesday morning. I will be telling him many of the comments you guys have made here. I agree the PR from the Club has been appalling and he needs to address it. However, I know from what I have heard from him it's not all as simple as one might think. But I will stress to him that fans don't like being treated as mushrooms. I will report back with what I can tell you, however something's he tells me are confidential. In my conversation with him this morning, he told me F1 Stocks ran in rain on Saturday and track is a real mess. He wants to get on to track to start prep for Wednesday, but with this mornings rain he is unable to. He hopes tomorrow's forecast of no rain that he can start track prep and that Wednesday evening rain doesn't arrive.

As many complain Club don't give you info, so I will. Nicklas back Wednesday at Lynn. He broke his foot in Sweden and Club signed Thomas on a 28 day injury contract. The 28 day injury cuts off Tuesday hence Nicklas not available for Leicester tonight. As I understand it, Nicklas will replace Lewis (collar bone) and will ride at no.6. Nicklas flys in from Poland tomorrow. If you have read, Nicklas 2nd bike with GM engine was stolen from here, just before he was injured. Though Police arrested suspects, to date they have not revealed whereabouts of the bike. Buster has sorted a 2nd bike for him until we can ship some bikes from Poland. I hope fans will support Nicklas and get behind him. I know some say he looks miserable in the pits, but he's not. It's just his way, he is so terribly shy until he gets to know people. I have spoken to him and said he has to try change this. So we will be making a big effort to come out of pits to meet and talk to fans before the meeting. Nicklas is a confidence rider, he likes to be loved and so you guys getting behind him makes a big difference. See you Wednesday

What ever he does - Buster is wrong. He called meeting off early as I assume he felt that due to the VERY heavy rain Tuesday night that he couldn't prepare an acceptable track. The Lynn track is clay based and clay absorbs a lot of water. People up in arms that it was called off. Next scenario- meeting was on. Riders walked track and say we don't want to race on this. Then same people up in arms saying why wasn't it cancelled early. 3rd scenario - after 5 heats riders complain about track. Meeting cancelled. Again same people moaning why did the meeting start. Poor guy can't win. I've heard it so many times - why a meeting is not called off early before riders and fans travel. Then when someone does make this decision - they are wrong ! No doubt there are conspiracy theories that it was a fix as Lynn didn't have a full team. I don't know and I don't care. I was going to go to the meeting to show support for Buster and King's Lynn speedway. But do you know what, I didn't cry and throw my toys out the pram. I just did something else that evening. It will be on another day and I can go then.

Well you may all get what you wish for in 2018
-
Can't change team (except injury) after 31st July. Holder is a Lynn rider until end of his 28 day ban - so until mid August. He may well be sacked by Lynn on that day to.
-
The way speedway is at the moment, do you think anyone really gives a damn who wins in 2018.
-
I don't know if this can happen, even if Poole fans wish it. If Holder has a 28 day ban. No team changes after 31st July. So Holders ban would be as a Lynn rider and the ban would take him into mid August. I may be wrong, probably am as speedway rules are all open to interpretation. The biggest loser of this debacle is speedway. Some Poole fans may be gloating. But you won't have a team also if there are eventually no clubs to race against you.

Just showed Nicklas your post here - very much appreciated. Yes he loves being at Lynn, made West Norfolk home and he wants the Stars to win trophies. Having practiced with the GTR felt confident to use last night at Rye Hous. Set up is different than the GM's but Buster had given him some tips, which proved right. Learnt a lot re sprocket size. Now need to practice and discover different ignition and jet sizes to use. At Rye House the GTR was too strong, but we managed to kill the engine and get power through tyre into a very slick track, with no grip at the starts. Looking forward to Wednesday and Belle Vue, hope Buster gives us plenty of grip.

Pleased the new race suits are growing on you. Nicklas and I designed them, taking into account a number of factors. Yes from the front possibly too black. However the original design did have more colour on front, but this got changed in the manufacturing due to how suits are stitched. In our original design the shoulders were meant to be yellow with the blue stars. Speaking to sponsors, we chose black for legs and chest as this is what sponsors like, it shows up sponsors logos far better when not lost in a colour. The riders like black legs as colours on inside of leg change due to oil, dirt and engine heat. Last years yellow legs went green due to this. However other than when rider is off the bike, what do you actually see when racing. The sides of the race suit, hence the yellow and blue down legs, under arm and reverse of arm. If you look at the photos from P&P of the team riding, then I think you will see what I mean. I appreciate some won't like design, I hear riders and management like them. But it's a race suit and if team is in this years finals I think the topic of conversation won't be about race suits. Lol - David

Been with Buster today. He has removed all the old shale down to the base and when he is not swearing about the weather, is replacing it with new shale. Needs to go down dry and stay dry to pack it. Track will be very good and all looking forward to the start of the season

Nicklas will be visiting two schools in early March - King Edward VII in Lynn and Downham High school. Taking a bike to show and talk to the kids about his life riding for Lynn and 3 teams in Europe. Aim is to get them to pester Dad and Mum to take them to the speedway and see him race. I guess in each school a number of foreigners, so he can at least converse with them in either English, Danish, Swedish, German, Polish or Russian. Not many Brits can do that. He knows as many of us do, we need new blood coming to the Arena and hopefully this will be a start.

Nicklas is local lad. Lives Nordelph, drinks and eats Stow Bardolph, shops King's Lynn, Downham and Stow Bridge. Just happens to have been born in Herning. Norfolk accent coming along to. Lol
