Only 3 Places Left To Fill..who & Where?
edmon replied to Steve Hewitt's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Luluthetiger said on the Edinburgh Monarchs thread that Albin is actually Spanish - well that is what his passport apparently says. -
There must also be a question over Albin. He is not the current Argentinian National Champion.
-
Not according to the BSPA GBE published rules. Hope there is a fallback position if needed. Sheffield (2), Scunthorpe & Glasgow may need one as well.
-
Where does this come from? The GBE states on the BSPA site "Any Speedway promotion wishing to employ an individual rider to participate in their team will be required to guarantee that, for the previous season, the rider for whom the application is made has fulfilled one of the following criteria. a) Australia/ New Zealand/ U.S.A. Finished in the first four in the state Championships" No other criteria there! Maybe someone from the BSPA would like to clarify situation - suspect the answer will be no they would not.
-
Neither have attained a top four place in either of this year's State Championships so going by the most up to date GOVERNING BODY ENDORSEMENT (GBE) on the BSPA Website they are not eligible. I am of course assuming the information in the GBE agreed in 2009 is still relevant.
-
Think you'll be disappointed most probably on both counts. Max Fricke only came 5th in the State Championship and is therefore not eligible for a Premier League place Heard a whisper that Helfer is being seriously considered as the other reserve.

I would not agree with this as I think I remember going back a number of years, when I was involved in 'promoting', that riders had to be AVAILABLE at relatively short notice, as written into their contract. If this is, and I suspect it still is, part of the contract then the riders MUST adhere to the contract they sign. You as a person involved promoting at Newcastle should know these rules well, but, I would suspect ignored this on most occasions when a rider was signed, especially if they came from overseas. It is time to get tough or speedway will die in my lifetime. I would rather it continue until after I expire allowing me to follow the only sport I have any real interest in.

If you look at past fixture lists, compiled by John Campbell, over a fair number of years you will see that there have been dates allowed for rain offs. Problem as I see it is that when the list is compiled it is immediately changed by Promoters due to riders non availability. To my mind when the fixture list is published dates should be set in stone with no changes due to the unavailability of riders. After all the dog should be wagging the tail and not vice versa. Riders sign a contract at the beginning of the year for a club and they should honour that contract. If they cannot they should not sign up or face sanctions for breaking the contract.

The VSRA was "Formed in 1957 by the late Peter Arnold" as inscribed in the membership book which is issued to members.

He may well do but what is a museum - a collection of items, more than likely, in a building where objects of historical interest are exhibited and preserved. Why not get your passport out speedyguy and cross the border and see what is on offer!!

Yes. Wroclaw off the destination list as of end of March. Gdansk, return Tuesday flight brought forward to Monday night - suppose that does save on a night's accommodation.

Michal Makovsky Testimonial
edmon replied to Bandits4eva's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
A bit previous as he has not yet been declared for Bandits in 2010. -
Telford's comeback looks questionable with King's Lynn intimating, '...in February we will be hosting an individual meeting...', in their programme on Wednesday night.

British U15 Championship 2009
edmon replied to PhilK's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Probably as the Northside organisers seem to like to keep things to themselves. Have you seen any practices on Scunny Stags list recently? -
Swc Race-off
edmon replied to Danish Webmaster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't think they are announced until after the practice tomorrow, but could be wrong. -
Believe 13 September is a play-off (quarter final) Sunday in Poland can anyone confirm please.

Nicholls V Sayfutdinov
edmon replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Cornishman's facts were correct. While the first punch was from Sayfutdinov, Nicholls was first to raise his hands by pushing him making him the instigator of the handbags action. -
Can I hijack this thread please. A number of us are planning to fly out of Edinburgh, into Wroclaw, on a Sunday morning to take in Polish League meetings this year. We will be flying back via Poznan on the Monday afternoon. Think the only tracks we could realistically take in are all on the Wroclaw-Poznan railway line - Wroclaw, Rawicz, Leszno and Poznan. If anybody out there who could confirm this or give other suggestions would be grateful.
