  1. W Dishington will not be ref in either meeting. His is out of the country until Saturday and was at Armadale last Friday. Should not think J McGregor will be ref at Ashfield as he has been there in recent weeks. Believe that referees can only be at a track once every four weeks. So looks like he may be at Armadale
  2. Former Linlithgow Lightning rider Ian Milne can be seen in a BBC2 documentary next Friday, October 16 at 9pm. Ian, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a number of years ago, struggled with pain for eight years before being referred to Strathcarron Hospice for help to find an effective relief. He visits the hospice each friday before travelling on to Armadale. With all his personal problems it is alway a cheery Ian you see at the speedway, more than often with his former team mate Neil Hewitt.
  3. Masters won heat 13. The Presenter announced what he had thought he had seen, possibly as it was across the tapes, but with the finishing line being slightly further along the track the result was different. The Presenter should NOT be announcing results of races before the referee gives his decision. The regular announcer, Scott Wilson, has been fined for this in the past.
  4. No Glasgow just have to play fair. Rather than delaying until Edinburgh are without 3 riders. I'd like to hear the Glasgow Promotion deny that is their tactics. Will only be proven by early agreement of fixtures.
  5. Has the first blind referee been appointed? No red lights!
  6. Bit unfortunate you single out the Clerk of the Course thus implying that the rest of us are unhelpful/rude. As a member of staff I don't consider that I'm rude - well maybe Scott Wilson thinks so - maybe you think I'm useless at my job. I'm ok with that but rude and unhelpful I am not. Please read your posts before hitting the send button and consider what you are saying.
  7. Have read many times of people who could not enter the country even although they have wife and family here, so I would suspect it may not matter.
  8. Let us firstly consider who the BSPA are? They are a group of people who have interest in promoting speedway at stadia in Britain. When people on this forum refer to the BSPA what do the refer to. They refer to an executive appointed by a group of people, referred to above, who have appointed their peers to represent said group. The executive have to comply with the law of the land as decreed by government agencies based on bills passed by Parliament. We must await the approval proposed line ups. Do not blame the 'BSPA', blame those who put the executive into their posts, the real blame rests with ALL Promotions and their lack of attention to detail.
  9. The Somerset Team Manager phoned the Referee on a number of occasions during the meeting but did not when this incident occurred. In my view this was clear indication that he knew some wrong doing had taken place on track.
  10. Can be used next year according to T's & C's in rule book.
  11. You say there were two separate meetings. I assume that the fans left after the first and paid to enter the stadium for the second meeting .
  12. Would be interested to know when its been done before maybe you could tell us Cyclone. Clearly against the rules Taken from 14.9.1 "In the event a Referee abandons a Meeting, no further racing, practicing or use of the track is permitted."
  13. OK the referee did make a mistake but we are all human and I'll defend the referee in this one. Surely he should not have been put in this position. If Monarchs' team manager knew it was not within the rules he should not have tried it on. As for the other 'gaffe of the night' - there was no complaint from the Edinburgh team manager prior to it happening.
  14. Don't believe that no mention has been made of the burgers on the night! They were as bad as the track.
  15. No change to the rule in any Supplementary Regulations issued by the SCB.
  16. It is still there - but does Mr Harkess know his rulebook? Although it doesn't really matter as the R/R is for Christian Henry.
  17. Regulation 8.7 At least one Member of the Medical Team must have a mobile telephone in working order. .......
  18. As she is at present. That is one of the reasons post boxes in Scotland do not have EIIR on them.
  19. Edinburgh's team manager for home meetings is Alex Harkess and away from home it is Alex Harkess or John Campbell
  20. Edinburgh's 'off night' is Saturday for which they have planning permission. There is no planning permission for racing any other 'off night'. They have had a meeting on sky a few years back for which they had to get special permission. Having, in my opinion, gone against their planning permission a midweek meeting, against Ipswich, was held earlier this year. Edinburgh cannot continue to go against planning or they could be in serious trouble and endanger the future of speedway at Armadale. So as far as I can see the fixtures should either be Somerset 25th/Edinburgh 26th or Edinburgh 25th/Somerset 30th where one of the clubs use their approved 'off night'.
  21. Could have happened no matter who the electrician was. Problem is more than likely having to use old wiring from last time the starting gate was on west of stadium.
  22. Oldtimer may be enquiring as to what the technicallity is. 'Tis quite intriguing
  23. The opening was cancelled last Sunday due to heavy snow south of Edinburgh. Ian wasn't able to get from his house to the museum, but there are further openings this year on 21/4, 2/6, 18/6, 13/10 10 till 4. Also most Wednesdays 10-12 and 1-3. Call 01578 722439 or 0131 440 0864 and leave details if you want to check. Thanks to Al Stewart and the Monarchs Chatzone for the information
