  1. MONARCHS V SOMERSET This Friday, 5th June 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to October 2014 for the 2014 Premier League Grand Final 2nd Leg. The 2014 Monarchs had performed superbly right through the season and were easily the leading side in the Premier League, but under the Playoff system of course it can all go wrong at the death. For the second year running we were pitched against Somerset in the Playoff Final, with both teams suffering injury absences. Rider replacement applied on both sides with Rebels using a guest for Ollie Allen. A tense wait for the referee's decision on heat 15 ensued.
  2. SOMERSET v MONARCHS, 2014 PL FINAL 1st Leg On Tuesday, 2nd June 2020, from 7:30pm the clock is turned back to October 2014 for the Premier League Final 1st Leg between Somerset and Monarchs - the 2nd leg will follow on Friday 5th. With thanks to Rereun Videos for their cooperation in bringing both legs together.
  3. Jack Young Trophy This Friday, 29th May 2020, from 7:30pm we turn back the clock to 1999 for the Scottish Open Championship.
  4. It would be good to hear what you do think is good about Edinburgh as all I ever seem to read from you is what you don't like!
  5. Join this Tuesday 26th May 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to 2005 for the Devils v Rye House Conference League clash
  6. MONARCHS V BIRMINGHAM Join us this Friday, 22nd May 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to July 2010 for the Monarchs v Birmingham Premier League clash.
  7. MONARCHS V NEWPORT Join us this Tuesday, 19th May 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to July 2004 for the Monarchs v Newport Premier League clash. We were defending our first ever league title win in 2004, and it proved to be a slightly disappointing season, more due to bad luck than poor performances. We still had the magnificent Schott-Carr-Schlein trio but had to release Magnus Karlsson after our title win. Magnus actually went on to win the Premier League title again, with Hull. Visitors on 16th July were Newport Wasps, with star man Craig Watson and recent signing Mads Korneliussen leading their challenge.
  8. MONARCHS V GLASGOW Join us this Friday, 15th May 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to April 2011 for the Monarchs v Glasgow Spring Trophy clash. Monarchs were defending League Champions as we entered the 2011 season, though it was to prove a season in which our rivals from the west enjoyed a great deal of success. Their team contained four former Monarchs plus the talented Nick Morris at reserve as they arrived for the first leg of the Spring Trophy. Ryan Fisher had moved on from Armadale after making a great contribution to three superb seasons, but we did have new signing Craig Cook in place, purchased from Workington. Would it prove to be a good investment?
  9. MONARCHS V KING'S LYNN Join us this Tuesday, 12th May 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to June 2007 for the Monarchs v King's Lynn Premier League clash. 2007 wasn’t one of our more successful seasons and we had a major team revamp in mid-season. Before that, we faced up to the most successful side of the time, King’s Lynn Stars, who were League and Knockout Cup winners in the previous season. They were still very much a team in contention the following season as they came to Armadale on 8th June led by star heat leaders Tomas Topinka and Daniel Nermark.
  10. So you've looked in on the Scottish television briefings as well as the English ones on BBC, and made your judgement based on them.
  11. Disagree with her politics BUT I know who I trust more. At least we've been treated like adults.
  12. Would you guys take your arguments over Poole elsewhere. I set this up for EMTV information to be posted.
  13. MONARCHS V NEWCASTLE Join us this Friday, 8th May 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to July 1999 for the Monarchs v Newastle Premier National Trophy Semi Final. Monarchs and Newcastle Diamonds have had many hotly-contested matches over the years, home and away, and 1999 was an especially intriguing year. Diamonds won home and away in the Premier National Trophy then Monarchs did likewise in the KO Cup, so when the teams met in the semi-final of the Premier National Trophy it was something of a decider. The first leg was at Armadale with Monarchs keen to build a big lead, and Les and Aidan Collins standing in as guests.
  14. MONARCHS V SHEFFIELD 13 years and one day ago we faced up to Sheffield in the Knockout Cup, having lost at Owlerton the previous night by 21 points. We were often well beaten on their big track, but equally the Yorkshire side were not always proficient at Armadale. However they did have the ferocious Andre Compton in their lineup. Our team in the early part of the season contained an American, a Dane, an Italian, an Aussie and three Scots and they gave their all on what proved to be a dramatic night.
  15. In recent years any match against Glasgow has been a tough one, so when we were drawn to face them in our first Knockout Cup tie of the 2018 season we probably did not feel we were favourites to progress. The Tigers had won by 7 points on their previous visit a few weeks earlier and had track specialist Richie Worrall and former GP winner Chris Harris spearheading our attack. We needed a big effort from all of our septet under the captaincy of Erik Riss to give us a chance.
  16. DOUBLE HEADER: This Tuesday evening fans can enjoy both the home and away legs of the 2013 Premier League Grand Final! What The Fork Monarchs reached out to Somerset Rebels, following their announcement of their intention to show the second leg for Rebels fans, to offer the chance for all fans to relive both legs of the final. You can catch the first leg here from 7:30pm, followed by the second leg at 8:15pm shown by Somerset. This sees a change to our scheduled EMTV:Rewind match, with the originally planned Monarchs v Sheffield match from 2007 now being rescheduled for next Tuesday 5th May.
  17. MONARCHS V GLASGOW Join us this Friday, 24th April 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to September 2017 for the Monarchs v Glasgow Championship match. Late in 2017 Edinburgh and Glasgow were both chasing Playoff places when Tigers came to Armadale on 15th September. Tigers had a strong team and for the early part of the season seemed set to sweep all before them, but all had not gone according to plan. However the visitors had Richie Worrall, Richard Lawson and Aaron Summers as a strong spearhead, while Sam Masters, Ricky Wells and Erik Riss were the home heat leaders. The two no. 6 riders Max Clegg and Glasgow guest James Sarjeant were to play a big part in the match. Watching on a mobile device and have an AppleTV, Chromecast or Samsung Smart TV? 19. MONARCHS V REDCAR Join us this Tuesday, 21st April 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to July 2008 for the Monarchs v Redcar Premier League match. Our 2008 side was one of our best ever, a team full of skill and youthful enthusiasm. However we knew that Redcar could always be relied on for strong opposition especially with track specialists Grieves and Havelock leading the way. On our side Carl Stonehewer was standing in for the injured William Lawson. We suffered a major setback in heat 1 but our team was made of strong stuff. 20. I'm sure this is being shown for the benefit of Geoff100 For our opening match of the 1999 season, the third at Armadale Stadium, we faced Workington who were returning to the sport. The Comets had Carl Stonehewer and Brent Werner in an entertaining lineup while Monarchs had James Grieves as part of a nearly all-Scottish lineup. The odd man out was Peter Carr! The match was full of exciting racing and also features an interesting interview with Comets promoter Ian Thomas. Runtime: 52:02
  21. Coming up tomorrow night, EMTV:Rewind presents a match from the previous incarnation of the Devils junior team: Dale Devils v Oxford from September 2004. Watch from 7:30pm! The Dale Devils always had a competitive team and were pretty strong at home, but when the Oxford Silver Machine Academy came visiting in September 2004 they brought top notch Conference riders such as Chris Schramm, Craig Branney and Jamie Courtney. Up against a home lineup of Wethers, Beaton, Campbell, Scott, Sneddon, Tully and Stoddart, we were ensured of some thrilling racing and a dramatic conclusion. Runtime: 27:36
  22. Armadale Stadium staged the first Scottish International for many years when it hosted the first of a three-match series against England Under-21. The Scots had a solid side spearheaded by James Grieves and Kenny McKinna while England boasted such exceptional talents as Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson. Runtime: 01:08:08
  23. Monarchs were defending League Champions in 2004 but started the season with a very tough Premier Trophy section which included an outstanding Hull team. We lost at Glasgow by 11 points then faced the Tigers in the return at Armadale, their team featuring Parker, Stancl and Grieves and we faced a big hurdle if we were to land the match points and the aggregate bonus. This meeting was sponsored by Liam Rudden! You can watch here on the Official Website or over on Facebook from 7:30pm. Those that have a Facebook account will be able to join in and chat in real time with other supporters enjoying the action. Plus, if you own an AppleTV, Chromecast or Samsung Smart TV, you can watch the action on the big screen. Just tap here and follow the instructions.
  24. When Berwick visited in Championship Shield action, they produced one of the best matches of the 2019 season. The Bandits were topping the Northern Section of the shield at the time. This show features several interviews and a dramatic conclusion! - Runtime: 41:30 Got a Facebook account? Watch there now to join the conversation with other supporters! 25. Tonight on EMTV-Rewind MONARCHS V SOMERSET, 2013 Join us this Tuesday, 31st March 2020, from 7:30pm as we turn back the clock to August 2013 for the Premier League match between Monarchs and Somerset! Got a Facebook account? Watch there now to join the conversation with other supporters! WATCH ON FACEBOOK Watching on a mobile device and have an AppleTV, Chromecast or Samsung Smart TV? You can watch the action on your television! Just tap here and follow the instructions. Somerset were our great rivals in the early part of the current decade and on 26th August 2013 they came to Armadale at the start of their northern tour looking for a victory. The result was an exciting match with our solid team (which had young Josh Bates guesting for Mitchell Davey) facing up to the twin threat of Jason Doyle and Nick Morris. There are two interviews in this presentation, one pre- and one post-match but the latter one is affected by a microphone problem. Set a reminder at https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/emtv-rewind
