Edinburgh used to have a 'De'il tak the hindmost' competition with five riders on a one lapper with the last over the line eliminated until one rider left. This happened until officialdom decided the could not run it as there were five riders starting from the gate and only four were allowed.
Not trying to do any maths, Edinburgh lost the semi at Armadale with a poor performance. It would affect the points scored by those in the race where he scored 2 which could arguably be used for payment to these riders
I would agree that this should have been spotted before the start of the meeting.
As far as I understand things Mr Vatcher pointed out the illegal guest, during the meeting, and the home manager replaced him, in his 4th ride, with a reserve. The Team Manager can do this at anytime for a 4th ride under normal circumstances.
You can maybe explain how the NDL is wagging the Championship dog. The Monarchs Academy have only had two meetings at home with the others shunted to the end of season (after the Championship cut off).
This has come about by dictate from Rob Godfrey. Glasgow now at Armadale on the 6th as part of the dictate. You are correct that three teams are due in action at Armadale on the 13th but suspect the BSPL chairman could not be bothered about the NDL matches being mucked about again if 13th is set as 2nd leg.
You must remember that Edinburgh are running in two leagues. At present they have moved NDL meetings for CL, and I'm sure it will happen again.
I don't think Glasgow folks would appreciate Edinburgh trying to give younger riders opportunities.
Maybe not! But they should have had meetings at home rather than away at Glasgow, Redcar and Scunthorpe. Seniority should have meant that these meetings were held on their alternative days. That may have then allowed the NDL lads to get their meetings in.
