  1. we're an awful elite league team, but we arent a premier league team. theres still a gulf between the leagues. we beat a sheffield side (one of the better pl teams) who were bolstered by a gp rider as we were diminished with a local rider at owlerton. Josh Auty is a pl number 1 yet a reserve (albeit not for long) for the lions.
  2. I'd take that, at least Woryna looks like he tries
  3. Thoroughly embarrassed at home. Sounds like the older poles don't fancy racing for the lions. I know there's not many options, but I'd rather have people actually trying to pick up points. Very frustrating. Simon stead anyone? Would miss a few meetings, but it'd be better than the current shambles
  4. I think the finances help a lot of clubs! A bit of coverage for potential new fans can never harm too!
  5. For anyone with snapchat the Lions have just got it.. you can add 'leicslions' to see whats going on behind the scenes/ in the pits. Doubt they'll show any racing as I imagine it classes as streaming
  6. Lions SHOULD win, whether or not they do will depend on Walasek and Wozniak. Gregorgz hasn't totalled anywhere near to some of the form he showed for us last year, he needs a good meeting. Wozniak wasn't great at home v Sheffield, he needs to at least be picking up good scores at home (as he does struggle away)
  7. I wouldn't take too much from results against either Belle Vue or Poole this season. Think everyone else is relatively similar. Expecting the aces and pirates to be a top two with 5 other teams at least having decent meetings between themselves. The Lions to be propping everyone else up above them is a concern.
  8. Most concerning is Walasek and Wozniak for me. Walasek only completed 1 lap all night! Wozniak really needed to kick on for us this year but doesn't seem the same enthusiastic rider he was last season so far. Impressed with Paddy, still think he's out of his depth at number 1, but 9 points away from home, especially at a tricky track like Lakeside is an impressive haul
  9. King flew a week ago v the lions, was very impressive. Woryna looked a very useful rider too. Gotta expect more from Garrity, no reason that can't start tonight. Can see this being a close one. Looking forward to seeing the progress of Max Clegg this year. He found it difficult but definitely progressed when he was a lions ftr a couple of seasons ago.
  10. Sarjeant withdrawing through illness and getting replaced by Danny Ayres, makes it even more one sided than it was before!
  11. Okay, well I apologise for any offence caused. I just come here to talk with other people that also enjoy speedway, but I'm starting to get a bit disillusioned with the idea as I just come in for unnecessary stick from yourself. I don't post anything here to upset anyone, so if it continues to irk you that I feel I have the right to an opinion then I can only apologise.
  12. Since Leicester reopened as I wasn't around for the blackbird road era, why?
  13. Don't think there's that much difference in the teams... But at lakeside you have a huge home advantage, especially with several track specialists. Expect Swiderski to complete the ultimate kick in the teeth and score a paid maximum (after riding worse than post digested dog food in lions kevlars last season). Can't see anything but an embarrassingly big home win
  14. Really not sure why people are judging Newman for riding at reserve? Whilst he's still deemed eligible (which this must be his last season), he's helping his team being stronger and guaranteeing his place in the septet.
  15. Just watched it, think you've got your description absolutely spot on. Absolute tool that lad
  16. Didnt see the video, assume this is sarcastic.. Whats he done/said now?
  17. Always a massive crowd for cov v Leicester though. Factor in the good Friday date to that too. Doubt there'll be a crowd as big there again all season unless you make the play offs. Doubt we'll get one that big all season (unless lots turn out tonight)
  18. Going by last night, it won't be long til autys a heat leader. Starke has to stay at reserve all year, but he'll be a real feather in the cap there
  19. Wouldn't say it'll be an easy home win, but think the lions should get over the line. Expect more from Wozniak and houggard round our own place and should hopefully make up the difference. 47-43 would be my guess.
  20. I'll accept it then- just seemed slightly overkill. Lad looks impressive on one wheel though, I'll give him that
  21. Auty and starke were great tonight, gunna need carrying by those two this year I fear. Hope they stay fit! Ulamek kevlars not the same as the other 6. Reading between the lines, but could mean he's just on a short contract? At least he seems to be trying, feared a repeat of pedersen/Ljung
  22. Cov top 3 excellent all night. All paid max from programmed rides. Dk only dropped the 1 point to a lion in heat 15. Kk rode very hard (but fair) to boss his position on track. Harris is a class above. Best top 2 in the league? Garrity disappointing. Woryna looked good, plenty of potential. Wasn't massively impressed with two laps of wheelies to celebrate a third place? Hate to see what happens if he wins a heat! Paddy looked reasonable but not in the same league. Klindt hit and miss, could have been better. Walasek bit disappointing as usual goes well there- pulled up a few times- hope it's bike trouble and not defeatist attitude. Wozniak disappointing- still a lot to learn, expect more from him tomorrow. Impressed with ulamek, deserved more from his rides. Auty and starke absolutely sublime, long may that continue. Lions the closest to an away point from all meetings today. Good to see all riders stay safe.
  23. Paddy looked brilliant in the challenge. Seb and Greg looked a little off the pace, hopefully just blowing some cobwebs off. Still think we're the weakest team in the league, but enough about us to Spring a surprise or two
  24. Stingy? Is that a pun? Sorry! Bees to win 50-40... Hopefully walasek finds a bit more speed at owlerton tonight. If he's on the pace, we can make it competitive
  25. Lions have a new Twitter feed (nothing to do with me, despite my posts). Looks like they're trying to be more active. Good on them! Follow them @speedwaylions
