Think Starke will be at Somerset, as much as I'd love him back at Leicester. Would be great to have Josh back, wouldn't be surprised if Richard Lawson was involved or a 2 point British rider. Would be surprised if we saw Ben Hopwood though, Parkinson-Blackburn, Hume and Bacon would be better 2 pt rider options IMO
-
and tell him to start working on his engines, we want Buster riding at number 1!
-
Sounds very positive. Hope the part about Ollie Allen is true! Think a lot of riders would be excited at the prospect of riding under his management. Would be great for the sport too to have another young, British manager and I'm sure him and Simon Stead would be in contact helping each other develop and progress in their roles

Thanks for the information Flagrag, don't suppose you know if/when this information will be brought to us by the club itself?
-
We'll have none of them. We'll enjoy our visits to Brandon and hopefully get some away points there in 2017!
-
I can see this benefiting both clubs, if we've not found a promoter and the bleak state of affairs at Coventry does lead to the closure of Brandon (fingers crossed it doesn't come to this). If the clubs did amalgamate, I wouldn't expect to see the announced Coventry septet being the team though, as I think Leicester targets and possible riders will be involved.
-
Alright then mate... Anyway, back to Coventry... Fingers crossed everything does work out for the Bees. Always enjoy my trips down the M69 to Brandon, hoping for the Leicester v Coventry derby for many years to come!
-
I have literally zero idea what you're going on about..
-
Excuse me? Merely sharing what I've read on social media
-
Got a friend that works in the local media. He says Coventry confirmed that they have a lease to race speedway at Brandon next year and won't be releasing a further statement as they'd already announced this
-
Would love to see Buzz back in Lions colours but I'd be surprised. Don't think we'll see Lambert here, couldn't get to grips with our track. Doesn't sound like Wozniak will be back at Leicester next year. Would be surprised if Auty isn't in the septet
-
Masters would be awesome, but depends on the payments from new owners, as he didn't race for us last year as we were rumoured to have offered him far too little in terms of wages. Houggard doesn't seem to be in the Aces teams discussed on their thread, as I thought he would have been there, so hopefully back at Leicester. Lawson would be excellent (and be one of the two required Brits) should he be announced as a Lion. A lot of this depends on who Norrie hasn't upset, and that only leaves a handful of riders!
-
Not sure I'd be aiming for either Nilson or Kylmakorpi... People suggesting Masters may not be at Wolves on some of the other threads, I'd absolutely love to have Sam back and I know he was hoping to get a Lions contract the past season. Adding Sam to Houggard would give us a very solid top 2. Summers was very good for us last season, Lawson looks like he'll be available and has always been a popular guest for Leicester and to have Klindt back as skipper would be brilliant on his average! Auty is another one I'd love to see involved, always gives his all and seems to genuinely want to ride for Leicester. Not sure how many points that would leave for the final rider, as people are saying Wozniak will not be racing in England this year, which is a shame
-
I think Steve may have been joking, not sure he's actually volunteering his services as Lions number one... The fella just rides his bike for entertainment, give him a break
-
Sounds good to me mate, see you in the final!
-
Klindt had a poll on his twitter a while ago saying 'where will I ride in the uk in 2017?:' His options (In order) were Swindon Robins, Leicester Lions, Wolverhampton Wolves and Other... That was suggestive to me that he thought they were his three most likely destinations for next season.
-
'Lions announce their first signing: Stevebrum has his own bike. We appreciate this level of preparation might make him overqualified for the club, but he seems happy to step down to our shambolic standards and help us out!' I could see the press release now... if they ever actually shared information with the fans, that is!
-
I'll dig my mountain bike out for the same reason, I'll still be quicker than Bjarne was!
-
If we've changed the race night, I'll be the other person there!
-
I'll probably forget Nick Morris too as he's just signed for Swindon.. Kylmakorpi for Morris, Auty for Woniak, 3.00 pointer instead of 2.00 pointer, still a relatively strong side given this league. The key for me is holding on to Klindt. He'll be in high demand because of his average but did say he wanted to return to Leicester next year
-
Could (but won't) line up like: Nick Morris 8.97 Patrick Houggard 8.71 Szymon Wozniak 8.27 Richard Lawson 8.17 Aaron Summers 8.13 Nickolai Klindt 5.42 (2 pt rider) Wajcknecht? 2.00 Team = 49.67 Think a team similar to this would be very competitive. Would however expect to see Auty in the 7 and would require us racing midweek if Glasgow are moving to Saturday nights as previously suggested
-
Auty has remained fairly loyal to Leicester and been one of the best FTR riders of the past few years. He gives his all every meeting and is one of the favourites amongst fans because of it. When you need two British riders in the septet too, I think Josh will be one of the first targets for the Lions
-
IF (another big if) we keep a similar team to last year, I don't think we'll be far off the mark due to the watered down nature of the league... Would personally be trying for Richard Lawson and Josh Auty as the two Brits (as I think Starke will be at Somerset). Would like to see Klindt, Summers and Wozniak back. I'd guess Houggard will be at Belle Vue next year, otherwise he'd also be on the wishlist. There's still plenty of good riders available, but we need promotion in place to be able to discuss contracts. I'd personally wonder if a new team manager might make the club more appealing, as Norrie appears to have ostracised the club from a selection of riders.

Youngsters Ready For Premiership?
beckettlion replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was personally impressed with Tom Bacon at last years ELRC, wasn't too far off the pace of Elite League Heat Leaders (albeit, a slightly weakened field). Not seen enough of him elsewhere to comment on whether or not he is capable of holding his own in next years premier -
Best Teams You Can Build Under 50pt Limit
beckettlion replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Feel you can probably get better than Nicholls for 9.22. Also, Klindt will be on a 5.42, so use the extra 3.5 from that to improve on Ashley Morris as well... Don't think we'll be seeing Max Clegg queuing up to sign to ride for Norrie Allen...
