Assume you're probably spot on with that one, suspect Friday has always been the preferred option, but made no sense with the Bees using it. For what it's worth, I hope the only Friday night racing I watch this year will be the away visits to Coventry!

Does anyone mind discussing Speedway, not trolling?

Sainsburys at Fosse Park always has a few copies, get yourself in the queue there Gem!

Not for us if he's in Lions colours next year

Justin Sedgeman leading the Aussie Championships by 3 points after winning round 3. Rumoured to be heading to the Lions and sounds like he's in great form!

That's the bloke, thank you!

It's suggested in the Speedway Star and now in the Lions article that we're already talking to a number of riders. They won't be riders signed for another club that have intentions of racing in the same league next year. In positive news regarding this- Sedgeman is rumoured to be one of those, and he's finished second in the South Aussie championships and now second in the first round of the Australian championship- ahead of some very good riders. These are just my thoughts, based on my opinion/ insight (or lack there of), not fact: 1. Can't remember the fellas name, but I thought there was another copromoter, so I didn't think Dave Darcy was the only one. 2. I think David Hemsley has been aside for a while, was pushed that way. BUT, by saying he's stepping aside, it saves face. 3. I don't think Buster will want to do to much, as he'll be busy being chair of the BSPA and involvement at Kings Lynn. But by being in charge, he can get involved if he see's anything going by the wayside. and hopefully, he's the man, to sort the track out. 4. Leicester Speedway LTD (2017), has that not just been set up to take over ownership of the speedway business? 5. I'd imagine Buster Chapman would have ultimate control of the finances? 6. Hemsley's new management team was probably referring to Buster owning the company, Darcy being more involved with promotion (and whoever is alongside him) and it's been suggested there's a new team manager: Ollie Allen? 7. Can't see Buster getting involved without him knowing that he has more power over the Speedway than Dave Hemsley. Will however, be interesting to see if, as suggested, Hemsley now uses the area around the stadium to begin new ventures.

This is one of the funniest things I've read on here! Quality foreverblue

Please keep fishing for that bite lad. I'm just here wanting a good, competitive Lions team and everything that's in the best interest of the sport- such as top flight teams remaining in existence.

I'd just stop replying to mrcts, and therefore stop giving them the attention they so clearly want, with posts like that He's definitely not a representation of Leicester Speedway or its fans. The best meetings of the season for Leicester are the M69 derby (with the exception of the play offs, if we ever get there!!). I look forward to many more years of racing, and hopefully beating, the Coventry Bees

Provided Cov are still racing, don't think Friday would be in the best interest of the club, or the sport, as some fans like watching racing both at Beaumont park and Brandon. Fingers crossed that everything is resolved down that end of the M69 and we don't have friday made available to us for the wrong reasons... Tuesdays are a non-starter as no team will want to race us without their big names who will still be racing in the Swedish leagues The article in the speedway star suggested to me that a team had already been signed. Presumably, they'll work out the travel logistics and potential fixture clashes for the riders involved and decide whether Monday nights or Thursday nights are the most viable option (both of which have worked for other elite league clubs in recent years and therefore shouldn't be a problem for the Lions) But thankfully, we will have the Lions at the tapes in 2017. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!

Looks pretty good tbf, prefer Ludvig over Sedgeman as he was good for us last year. Wozniak not returning to Britain by the sounds of things, Buczkowski at 5 would be good, think he's available and was excellent when he last rode for the Lions
-
The most committed rider to Leicester I would have said was Josh Auty, so I wouldn't rule him out of our plans. There's still riders like Kylmakorpi and Nilsson who may be looking for a team place. A team like: 1. Kylmakorpi, 2. Summers, 3. Lawson, 4. Auty, 5. Buzckowski, 6. Luna, 7. Sissis. Leaves 0.17 and would be a very competitive septet in this league, IMO
-
Solid source or speculation? Very exciting if true, but thought all signs were pointing to Holder at Kings Lynn. Still think there are plenty of exciting riders available and we can still build a competitive team. Will be surprised if we dont have Lawson and Auty as our two brits, looking at those left available Wonder if any announcement this week will be more than 'Leicester are definitely running this year' or if they will give us details on choice of race night and personnel.. There was suggestion previously on this thread of Ollie Allen taking over as team manager. Fingers crossed we get the news as soon as sounds likely and there are no more set backs. Think we deserve a competitive team to cheer on next year! Up the Lions

and then I woke up!

King's Lynn Stars 2017
beckettlion replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It has been open for riders to practice should they want to in recent years though.. I know Wozniak took the opportunity to use the track to get more laps in, for example -
You can discount your second team, Paddy is at Somerset
-
Still plenty, that I could see riding for Leicester that in some combination could make a good septet: Kylmakorpi, Nilsonn, Summers, Lawson, Wozniak, Thomsen, Auty, Schlein, Ostergaard, Palm-toft, Ludvig Lindgren (and then plenty of 2/3 pointers should they be needed for team building). This avoiding riders that are more than likely going to ride for Belle Vue or Kings Lynn
-
I'm gutted not to see Paddy back in Lions Kevlars next season. You boys have got a quality rider their. He did a decent enough job as a number 1 all season long (against expectations) for the Lions in the stronger elite league last season and believe he'll do an excellent job as a heat leader for yourselves. Personally, don't think the team is as weak as everyone is making out, but I doubt you'll be challenging for silverware
-
Along with Paddy and Starke too by the looks of things? Be interesting to see who our number 1 is now, was expecting it to be Houggard again! Chris Holder anybody? I'd love that, but suspect he'll be at Kings Lynn
-
ahh Bondarenko, the only man to frequently be first out of the gate and last out of bend 2!
-
If we use him as our number 7, on a 4.00(ish) average he'll be competing with other number 7s and will almost feel like a homegrown rider to the Lions faithful. If our two brits are premiership quality riders, like Auty and Lawson who were heat leaders in last years premier league, i dont think Jan would be the worst (albeit, far from the best or most awe inspiring) signing

2016 Riders Still To Be Announced In 2017 Team
beckettlion replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Would be very surprised if any other Premiership team than Leicester were to take a punt on Jan. He was Mr Leicester Lions speedway until we stepped up to the elite league, still very popular amongst fans. Also, imagine he might not cost the earth (although thats just a prediction) -
Jan Graversen has put on facebook that he has a team place in the premiership next year and he's looking for a championship team. Can't see any premiership team apart from the Lions going in for Jan the man, first piece of our Lions jigsaw?
-
Matej Zagar who refused to race away meetings at Leicester for Belle Vue because of his distaste for the track? I somehow doubt that he'll be open to making it his home
