Hope not
-
As has been pointed out, there's still plenty of points to play with. Klindt averaged upwards of 8.5 at home for us in 2013. Plenty of people slating the team before it's been completed. And a premier league team!? There's exaggerating and then there's just being facetious. Find a premier league team with auty and starke at reserve, with walasek not at number 1 and I won't point out the utter nonsense people spout on here.
-
Relatively happy with Klindt but do hope he's the lesser of the two second strings. We could still form a fairly competitive team, largely thanks to the strength st reserve
-
Anyone heard anything interesting or close to completion? Lots of rumours, lots of names banded about but nothing seems to be happening
-
It's still a minority. I assure you most of us don't hold the same desire to see the end of Coventry. Don't tar us all with the same brush, I've been threatened by a Coventry fan at a meeting (for cheering a Leicester rider passing), I don't hold it against all Coventry fans
-
Apologies on behalf of that one idiot in particular. I'm sure there's a few more out their too but such is life. I wasn't around when blackbird road was shut down, but I don't wish the same fate for any club. Will be a shame to see the back of Brandon, but fingers crossed you can upgrade to a more modern facility and maintain the name of the Coventry bees in the elite league for years to come. Happy new year everybody

Why would we have Compton? Steads a much better rider and available. If we don't have stead, hopefully have someone better, or similar on a lower average. I wouldn't be surprised to see a particularly weak team, but I don't think walasek will be at 1
-
If he tried going to sainsburys on another day (changed the race night), he'd have found some riders down the heat leader aisle!
-
Gunna or gonna, meaning going to
-
If they were gunna announce stead they would have done by now. He's not gunna hesitate to put pen to paper if offered. Norrie doesn't want double up riders. Stead will unfortunately be a last resort. I'd rather have him race his arse off for the club but miss a few meetings, than some unknown quantity with questionable reliability and unproven in the league
-
Gollob might go well, he's the sorta rider that knows how to pressure others into mistakes...
-
I'd DM them on Twitter, but wouldn't expect them to know how to use it!
-
We should be so lucky! About time they got someone on the social media side of things. I'd happily do it, I'm always on Twitter and Facebook. I'd do it for free and a better job than whoever currently is running it!
-
Wasn't sure of his nationality.. The reserve list been published yet? Wonder if barker might be available for you?
-
lambert wouldn't be a good option. You'd be better off bringing Ashley Morris back. Although I think roynon would be your best bet, if he stays injury free he's a very good rider. Wonder if you might be able to go slightly more 'out there' (like lakeside with mear- don't think many saw that coming.) possibly gjedde?
-
Stead would be great and hasn't hidden the fact he'd like to race for us again. Think most fans would have Simon back in a heartbeat, but the management didn't contact him last season (following a good 2014 with the lions). Would be a great fit for the lions- norrie always wants reliability, stead is one of the most thorough professionals in the sport!
-
I want steady back. A committed rider, great with the fans and actually wants to represent Leicester speedway! The sayfutdinov comment would be dream world, but Protasciewicz and Thj (along with stead) would complete a fair looking top 5 imo
-
Thomas h jonasson, rune holt, Piotr protasciewicz
-
There was an ever so slight sarcasm/insincerity to my post!
-
Made up rumours are more than what we're hearing from the club. The social media side of the lions is very amateurish in keeping the fans informed of anything (unless they're asking us for something... Or complaining about something). Would be nice to hear something, even if it's just 'we might not meet the suggested Christmas deadline but we've got our fingers in some pies and hope to have some news shortly'.
-
Finnish media? Reporting on a Russian rider? In an English team? I mean, I'd love it, but I'd be extremely surprised...
-
Haha it was a tongue in cheek comment! Easy to be smug in terms of football in Leicester atm, not so much the speedway
-
Either a triple announcement is imminent (tbd, we've had no notice for any of the announcements) or they're not meeting their christmas deadline. some hope for next year (with three decent signings) would be a good christmas present. If they're gunna be riders announced that confirm our wooden spoon position, id almost rather they didn't announce it before christmas!
-
I wouldn't want to be reminded i was a Norwich fan either!

This is all a bit petty, I dont know about you lot but I like using this forum to discuss speedway... Sometimes there might be a conflict of opinion. But all of this (now three open threads with relevance to the word 'retard') isn't exactly speedway relevant and in all truth, just a bit petulant
