Putting my SKY Sports transfer rumour hat on, who will be this mystery rider who is above Hans in average but below Chris. KK= Poole asset on 11 would be solid and is amazing at home AJ= Poole wanted to sign him last year, but is rumoured to not want to race this year in the UK and Coventry will have a say. Hampel= Would be great signing, is definitely a top 8 rider in the world if not for injuries. Will need more racing now no GP's . Any other ideas, or is this just talk. I imagine Kyle and Brady come in as well so they take, 13.86 points between them. Is Matt planning a young 4 point rider from the continent.
-
So, I just thought I will have a go at predicting the next 5 signings. SWINDON 1. Jason Doyle. 13.41 2. Woryna= 6.51 3.Adam Ellis* 7.84 4.Joe Jacobs= 5.36 5.Sedgmen=7.6 6.Ayers=3.70 7.Nielsen= 5.53 Very young team. But Doyle, Ellis, Sedgmen will get you 30 points a meeting easy. Just need the others to improve.
-
Agreed and with Belle Vue situation Matt can probs pay them in Fish from Poole Harbour.
-
Would be a decent team. Would rather have Cyfer than T.Kurtz. I agree Pirates of Poole is our main man for information. Would who this mystery rider is?? Is Matt simply holding the news of Brady, Hans and Kyle or I wonder if maybe Brady might not be in. I guess he wants to space it out so that we get news spread out a bit more. I'm amazed no one else has announced any riders yet apart from us and Swindon.
-
Any rumours coming in who we could possibly sign. Hans has signed we all know and Kyle and Brady must be round the corner. The other three could be interesting. I would like Starke back and then invest in another big heat leader to twin with Hans. Starke would also give us another small track expert.
-
Great signing and with Rosco as boss this should help him on international scene. Apart from Lambert UK's best shot at GP rider. I imagine Morris will come in. I think Rosco has got some European riders on the way. With some low scores. You might do a Poole get Dudek on a 4. Hahhahah. But great respect to Swindon. We let Ellis down
-
True. I imagine Brady and Kyle just round the corner. Then the other three are up for grabs. I think Perks but not sure.
-
Lucky he went through bad batch otherwise his average would have been like Chris. We would have won title last year if he was not injured.
-
Let's see who wins the league. I have ultimate respect for Swindon, but on this occasion wrong decision. I wanted Chris so bad, but it just means a weak 6,7 in your team. Newman has beaten Woffy, sure he can take Doyle on. Hhahahah.
-
Hans has just signed. Well that is a good signing. 10.01 average. I love Chris and really want him in Pirate colours but Hans for first half season was our best rider and was getting 12 points a meeting. In this league would expect 10 points a meeting. Doyle will beat him though. So far 1. Hans=10.01 2.J.Holder=7.16 Not bad.... 32.83 for 5 riders= 6.6 per a rider. Imagine Matt signs Perks on a 3 due to way he wrote in Echo with no Chris. So that would be 7.5 average per rider if we have Perks.
-
I respect this view. He is blue and blue through. I imagine he won't go Belle Vue lives in ringwood for a reason. Yes in 2013 we had perhaps the greatest rider in Elite League History ride for us. 3rd richest club simply.

User Actions Following Chris Holder@Chris_Holder23 It sucks they can jus change your average like that and put you out of a job that easily cheers @SpeedwayGB . This post just shows Holder wants to ride for Poole and his disappointment. Anyone else feel this AGM is like appointing Trump. NO consideration for Poole, Wolves and Swindon.
-
One thing I don't understand in speedway is why people get so fussed about manger's decisions. In any other professional sport stars are let go or not played. Examples, Mephis Depay= 25 million does not play for Man U Yasiel Puig= One of the best players in baseball in 2014 was dropped to lower league. I have faith in Matt and i am sure he has a plan which he wants to stick to and with it a successful team. And to do with the sponsorship. I suspect Matt has had offers, but he is trying to get a 6 figure deal which he might not have been offered. If he gets a large brand to sponsor the team even with new rules could change everything.

With the official averages here is my new team. With Ellis also not riding. 1. KK=11 2.K.Newman=6.31 3.B.Kurtz= 7.65 4.J.Holder=7.16 5.Hans=10.01 6 Someone from Europe on 4.00 average 7.Ellis Perks=3.00 Would rather have 6 strong and 1 weak and with Middlo help can improve a lot 49.12 0.88 left over to add onto one of reserves for potential better rider Or 1. Kennett= 9.27 2.J.Holder=7.16 3.Kurtz= 7.65 4.Batch=7.36 5.Harris=9.21 6.Newman=6.31 7.Ellis Perks=3.00 49.96. Depends really between two teams.
-
Ellis Perks might have struggled in recent years. However, i feel he might become a Paul Starke type of rider and improve over the season and be ready for the playoffs. We all know are big assets which will be hard to use due to point limit. I imagine they will return in future years. This is British speedway after all. BUT WHAT LOWER LEAGUE riders do we have apart from Perks.
-
Cheers, not a bad team. Would have done well in the EL last couple of years I think. If batch had not been injured.
-
I would go with a very similar team to INCOGNITO. 1. Hans= 10.01 2. Kyle= 6.31 3. Troy Batchelor=7.36 4. J.Holder= 7.16 5. C.Harris= 9.27 6.Paul Starke=6.62 7.Ellis Perks=3.00 49.73 With three former GP riders. Not the worst team ever. Would beat all round Wimbourne road and some much better small track riders which we normally lack.
-
Having watched the meetings last year, Bjarne is just slow. I would rather have Mark Cavendish. Gater1, I think Jack will ride so when we change the rules again in two years because this is British speedway Chris will ride for us again.
-
Brady will come in on 7.35 so we could use the other 1.5 on someone else other than Dan Bewley.
-
Where are these final averages? I can't see them on the website.
-
Well, after reading Matt's comments in the echo he does not seem that happy really does he. But anyway here is a guess at what I think would be a good team. Would love Chris, just on that average. 1.C.Holder=12.35 2.Jack Holder 7.16 3. Kyle Newman 6.31 4.Batchelor= 6.9 5.B.Kurtz= 7.65 6.Ellis Perks=3,00 7.Paul Starke=6.62 49.99. Would be a crazy team. Has some good Poole riders and Starke, J. Holder, Newman all give 150% every race. 7.66
-
I'm not being rude to other teams. But Matt has made us to big for this league, we should just race in Sweden. I'm sure it would be successful when Grin is riding over here. Just an idea, NFL has plans for expansion franchise why can't we. I will say however, this next season is going to be rubbish due to points limit. In 2018 we actually have a real league. THIS IS THE YEAR WHERE MATT'S TEAM BUILDING SKILLS NEED TO DELIVER A EXCITING TEAM.
-
I was in my lecture at uni as this news broke. And well at first I thought well this is good and I have thought 24 hours later that this is just crap. I mean we have just have screwed this up especially this season. The 2018 season when people have real averages will be good but this year is going to be so bad. Doyle might be only GP rider. Only way we get Chris is if we someone get some young polish riders of very low averages around the 5.5 mark. paweł przedpełski????? Does he want to ride in the UK.I mean we all know Poole have links with, Plymouth, Somerset and Isle of W. But we have links with Torun as well. We feed them riders after we have made them good. Fair enough. So maybe Torun can gives us some of there young talent.
-
Awesome list. There needs to be some limit, because otherwise there is going to be huge changes because Doyle and Holder are not going to score 13 points a meeting. They could lose about 3 points off there averages which means we could see huge transfers through the season.
-
I can now see Kurtz and Holder being back. The problem with these averages is that there all going to drop. So for this first year there will be very few GP riders and then later on in season when Holder and Doyle who will probably ride there averages go from 12+ to about 9 ish all. I just think the averages have not been thought about. So we could see teams in March which in June are completely different. Does not make much sense. Should have got a better idea for averages.
