  1. why do i need to ring him i thought his door was always open!,.of course im not a trackman, as of course neither are you, riders arent "trackmen" but they also have a view on track conditions.Glad that you ask if i could do better it means that you do at least accept that "better"is reqd(.ps i do know the sound business logic in not spending any money at present but thats not for the magazine seller to know)
  2. try and understand it was not a mid morning meeting, not thats it anything to do with you but why after a previous days heavy rain would it have been so dusty and why so many holes?
  3. speedway never as good daytime, not a rider but think track was pretty dire, doyle hit the hole on the first bend when going to win ht 15 by half the track took an almighty whack as the bike lifted, harris hit a big hole between 3 \4 when on a poole 5-1,worral said couldnt ride the track, notice after racing they were shoveling grit into the hole doyle hit and trying to pack it in.have to say gary may (who every wk for 10 yrs or more stood with his wife who is brilliant with poole sponsers just in front of us)is constantly working the changes and i would put him the best team manager in the prem league, big fan of adams at wolves but hes lost that cutting edge
  4. "super aces" could possibly have been a clue to which team he supports, just needs a "oops sorry my mistake"from you.i made a silly mistake yesterday lisa corrected me, quick apology and all sorted
  5. hes reserve so no ts or ht15 reqd, could be 6 second places 4 of them with a bonus,
  6. neil (trackman) on hols for this meeting and monday ,gerald from lakeside overseeing trackprep
  7. just been told scott nicholls not the culprit seems we need to look closer to home, thanks lads!!
  8. all very interesting but you are not seriously suggesting that was the reason the meeting was abandoned last night( high tide),bit like last wk saying originally that the oil was a leak from tractor engine, how stupid do they think everybody is ??
  9. if scott nicholls was the main instigator as is being suggested (i have no idea if this is true) for having the meeting abandoned,he could have reasoned that the way he was riding last night he wasnt going to lose much if any points money from the rest of the meeting!! alternatively he could have had an early appointment today with his tailor re a suitable shirt for sats gp lol
  10. would also add that our little group have all decided to watch on bt nxt wk, figuring that was the easiest way to make a protest ,might calm down in day or two, perhaps,i will go or not with the majority.agree with other poster nigel the announcer who tonight just couldnt stop jibbering on about something(coach to swindon 7 times) was nowhere to be seen when explanations were reqd, interview team managers, referee, captains and other riders, promoters, had to do something not hide away, shocking pr
  11. a few around us thought after the grading had finished a rider from each team could have done a couple of laps to test the track, but low and behold it was abandoned after the tractor had only done 2 laps, tho the track was already looking perfect!! there were people round us booing who i never would have expected to,such was the strong feeling, you cant keep taking the pixx out of people and expect them to pay decent money for the privilege
  12. leicester at swindon on wed and this is a rearranged fixture i suppose
  13. to strengthen the current leicester team enough to make it a competitive match they would need to bring in woofie and zmarzlik lol,the lions could be pretty demoralized after mon and wed matches
  14. surely theres a reasonable argument for having a collection for a young british rider, riding for poole at poole when breaking his leg and as others have said resulting in a financially disastrous season for him, whats the harm in giving it a go, measured against the possible gains jmo
  15. i love the 20-20 on sky,and comes over even on telly as great family nite out,i also was thinking what speedway could take from it,a grand if you catch a ball at the oval, free holiday given at trent bridge, kiss cam all brilliant but wouldnt transfer to speedway, one simple and cheap thing that would is the music, they play great music at the t20,at poole its invariably rubbish(at least matt stopped the silly marching band stuff, starry was the only one in the stadium who liked it!)suggest they watch a 20-20 note the tunes and play the same tracks as riders approach tapes and after the race
  16. sounds a good idea scorp would like to think it could be arranged, perhaps the club could bring him down for a day or two and him to be there on a wed.the week before he broke his leg i was with meeting sponsors on centre green and gave stefan rider of the night, super chap so pleased with his award and to be at poole and had hoped to stay for rest of season.but as i say hope something can be organised
  17. correct ray packed out the last 2 meetings, really poor poor crowds up to then and of course we are in an area which is one of the main holiday destinations in uk
  18. robert lambert was walking across the centre green to the showers and crossed the track minutes after the oil had been put down,i watched him stop and take photo, which of course hes perfectly entitled to do, didnt see any mechanics around, why would a mechanic be in that part of the stadium after the meeting plenty work to do loading up to go
  19. the guy walked out from the tractor area where the public arent allowed carrying a plastic drum with the top cut off and poured it in 4 different places other track staff were with him.do you think a fan has gone through the turnstile carrying an open drum of oil,i always take drinks, sandwiches and chocolate but have to admit never a drum of oil lol
  20. dont know anything about the legal ramifications but it does appear that most if not all tracks have in the past or still are doing similar see bob cs post,i thought his mention of mixing the oil into the water bowser was a more discreet and efficient way of spreading the oil.One thing though is that no track is doing it to gain an advantage but to create a better surface for both sets of riders and a better meeting for the paying customer
  21. great meeting, crowd, racing, and result.stayed a while after the meeting chatting and waiting for traffic to clear, seen the oil put down from a container,on entrance to first bend and into the bend, lambert photo it on his way to shower, must help track prep, remember riders always said tracks were good in 50s and60s because of the oil that leaked from the engines
  22. if robert(probably for the first time this season)has 5 days with no bookings i think hes probably entitled to go away and have a break
  23. i believe the stadium itself is safe, but there will be partial development on the site, the freeholder and the leaseholder each need the others support to achieve this but as both pbc and stadia uk would like some development (for completely different reasons) it will happen. However i believe at present they will sit on things at swindon and poole(they both make money) until the greyhound media rights battle is decided, two companies battling to be the only provider, put simply its ladbrookes group verses arc group,co has put swindon and poole in the arc group, time will tell, think theyre also following developments at oxford council re their stadium.maybe they might concentrate on torquay project, who knows?
