Peterborough Panthers 2017
New era Panthers replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not worried about being 0.6 under 40.00 . It's more about who can we get the best out of at the end of the day . I would be happy with either Starke or Allen but think the most improvement and average increase is most likely to come from Allen. Rafa the peoples champion , a really smashing chap tried to be very sociable with supporters 100% trier I have the greatest respect for him Shame he didn't make the grade but if we ever wanted someone with his average I wouldn't mind giving him another chance because you know he will put the effort in . -
Plrc / Clrc Or Whatever

Take your point it is about time it is more central for the teams that participate , I wouldn't mind if the fours meeting was moved away from the showground altogether and given to say Workington or Berwick or maybe Newcastle, it doesn't make sense holding it in the south when most teams are northern based. To be quite honest I'm not a great lover of the competition and much prefer team racing . I would rather be compensated with the occasional international match featuring England v Danes, Swedes, or aussies. -

And most of it spot on with no radical wild fantasy guesses, so you'll just have to wait and see. -
Your entitled to your opinion as it counts for nothing and I know who I'd prefer but you've overlooked one thing if Lambert has a dip in form and goes down to reserve then we have a reserve to go into the top5 with a 5 point average to replace him which is something Workington havn't got.

Your yolking of course -
They both rode for Peterborough Thundercats and Simon Stead made his debut for them at Ipswich away to the Anglian Angels which was combined Ipswich/Kings Lynn team. They went on to win the conference league ,David Howe was the NO1 in a team that also included Scott Brady

NO he's just being his normal self. Bit of a laugh telling people not to bad mouth riders before you can get the chance first. -

I hope you can cope with it. Bradley Wilson Dean must be a cert for NO6 and last place for either Paul Starke / Charles Wright or Jake Allen anyone of those 3 I would be happy with . Possibly Allen would be the best to improve on his average though. -

I would certainly expect him to pay Rick Frost or others like Peter Oakes are in a different situation and maybe they would get free entry but Mick Horton getting in free after what he achieved at the showground and backing out of a 2 year agreement thus putting the club in serious jeopardy of closing down would be like giving him a thank you for his previous services -

As long as he stay's in the stands and pays entrance fee i'm quite happy to ignore him . -
Mick Horton's CV suggests he should never be allowed to promote speedway ever again just take a look he oversaw the closure of OXFORD. Done the same with MILDENHALL. Almost did it at PETERBOROUGH him once and also his brother Colin once and now it seems it's COVENTRY'S turn . Best thing he ever done was getting out of Peterborough but feel sorry for all Bees fans knew it would happen somewhere along the line just a matter of when.

Forget this promotion business , it means absolutely nothing, regardless where Panthers finish in the league . If Panthers want to join the premier league in 2018 I would imagine they would be welcomed with open arms same applies to all teams though I wouldn't imagine apart from Ipswich there would be any other takers as travel costs and increase in riders salaries would swallow up all the extra sky deal payments -

Certainly got more plugs than Tony Blackburn and Noel Edmonds amongst other infamous names. I remember having my first portable transistor radio and smuggling in to my bedroom and listening to 208 under the covers and waking up the following morning to another flat battery I also remember 208 was I believe the only radio station that gave out speedway results nightly, although I must admit I didn't know much about it other than it was a kind of motor cycle meeting
