He's certainly upped his game since he left Workington and like I said some time ago perhaps he needed the change to refresh his career.

Have to agree with you and if certain people want the stadium closed , then there's nobody more qualified than Mick Horton to oversee a closure. I hope I am wrong as it would be a sad day to lose Coventry .

Peterborough Panthers 2017

Craig Saul wouldn't be on my wish list either , I get tired of the same old garbage he keeps spewing out, I suppose it could be worse if we had Peter York though. Team looks solid enough for home performances , away maybe different but I think they may surprise a few teams as well and i'm happy for them to be classed as underdogs. Not many people rated Somerset's chances last season but they proved the doubters wrong. -
Control the wage structure , you're having a laugh , there are so many ways this could be abused, signing on bonus , cash in hand payments , hire vans availability or free lodgings and workshops and whatever else promoters can think of without breaking the pay structure. All promoters would know the rule and would also know how to get round it and I suspect they all would do this to get what they wanted provided the resources where there without being detected

When you make statements like this you need to back it up or otherwise it looks like a malicious slur. Put up or shut up

Get a girlfriend now that sounds like a good idea , i'll have to see if the mrs approves first though. -
Then time the BSPA clarified just what the position is regarding Edinburgh and Davey , and not keep fans in the dark which is just making it more complicated than what it actually is. Should he be classed as English or Australian ,should he be classed as a 2 pointer or a 3 pointer or maybe his previous average from riding in the 2nd tier, this needs clearing up seems simple enough to sort out, this should then be the benchmark for all future signings. I've just got the feeling the BSPA just don't know which way to turn on this subject and seem to be dragging there heels. Maybe they have been so involved with trying to sort out the troubles with Belle Vue and Leicester and this has just got caught up .in the system.
-
Not sure how the BSPA will view this it doesn't cause problems for any club other than Edinburgh but they have to make the correct decision otherwise it could open a whole can of worms for future reference . To me it's not so much about the rider but the rules involved, but good luck to the lad anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if the last two are Stormy and Greaves.

Championship Teams Comparison Time
New era Panthers replied to balderdash&piffle's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agree with you about bottom3 teams I would expect Glasgow and Sheffield to be the stand out teams and qualify for play offs and Ipswich , Peterborough ,Redcar Edinburgh and Newcastle to fight for the other 2 places but there's a lot of water to go under the bridge yet . -
Not quite the same though is it ,as it only comes into effect when both teams are level on goals as a decider.
-
Maybe Edinburgh would be interested in another American in Long beach track specialist Sandvik
-
I think you're getting confused with a scroll saw
-
And it doesn't come cheap anymore.
-
Not worth fretting about mate, only Edinburgh left to sort out there jigsaw now.
-
I don't think you're crackers I have to agree with you and admire your stance , they should have left the joker with Eddie Waring on It's knock out Can you imagine this sort of thing happening in football or maybe a boxing match , it would look good with points leading boxer having to go a round with one arm tied behind his back.

Who was in saw one, Mortice and tenon ?

Berwick 2017 50th Year
New era Panthers replied to balderdash&piffle's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not much known talent about after every other team have had there pick, Chessell guested for Panthers in one match in 2016 and looked well off the pace so I wouldn't look to disappointed at him pulling out , maybe Berwick's best hope would be to do what Edinburgh did last season and leave it as late as you can by inviting riders for trials for the NO7 position, who knows you may discover another Dan Bewley. -
I know the feeling Panthers used to get a right old mauling from Boston when they were are force in the 70's home and away. I worked for a large engineering firm in Peterborough then and there were as many employed who supported Boston as there were from Peterborough , I used to hate going to work the next day after another drubbing.
-
But what about if the situation is reversed and you get a right good pumping from the west but before you jump down my throat for even suggesting this , remember that I am a neutral on this subject in fact I have relatives and connections in the Glasgow area.

Winning local derbies by a cricket score is good for bragging rites but poor for entertainment value IMO
