Peterborough Panthers 2018
New era Panthers replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Come on Panthers get a deal set up, he' d be fantastic capture. -
I don't care where he's from or who he supports , he has no right to make those kind of statements unless he can provide financial statistics to back up what he is saying, harsh was a polite way of telling him he should back off.
-
That's harsh coming from a Poole fan that are based light years away from Workington.

Sounds like nothing more than a rap on the knuckles, yes I am surprised , I would have expected him to be replaced as deputy chairman. -

Hopefully some news on this will be forthcoming shortly as there is some team planning to do , or should we expect some more mushroom effect from the BSPA and no doubt Ged is under an enforced code of silence. -
If they took a vote on it , then I could see only one team that would not be happy with it unless they are also proposing to move there raceday , if not is it a good idea both teams racing at home on the same night taking into account the short distance between the two venue's attendance wise.

Any dreams of going into the premier league in the future would require someone who has money to bankroll it and as things stand at the moment , I cant see it happening anytime soon. -

I think you may get a surprise. Personally I can't see the race day changing but I suppose anything is possible . -

I thought you would have grasped the fact by now Shanes spends a lot of his Sunday's on grasstrack. -

Good luck to Bomber where ever he chooses to go in 2018 , a great ambassador for British speedway and will be missed at Peterborough. Would have been my choice to lead the team at NO 1. -

Fans are more likely to remember him for the performances he didn't put in. How about like Harris he's going to go to Glasgow whatever league Ipswich are in as the money on offer is better north of the border. -

Bomber has reportedly done a deal to ride for Glasgow next year although nothing concrete from rider or clubs involved so it could be just wishful thinking from our Caledonian friends as Bomber put in a couple of very good displays in the league and cup semi final at Ashfield. -

There must be a few but i'm glad to say that i'm not one of them . I still think he should be on a 3 month ban from the start of 2018 season. -

Would the above local derbies be enough to compensate for higher wage bill and would the likes of Swindon , Poole , Somerset and Belle Vue for example on a Monday or Thursday evening bring with them enough fans to make it viable . I would love to see Panthers back in the top division of British speedway, but being realistic my feelings are it's far too much of a gamble unless someone out there is prepared to back them with big money and be prepared to maybe suffer heavy losses. -

Are you rich enough to gamble your money away, or do you know anybody that is. Jenga is right as things are at the moment it would be financial suicide and as there is no elite league we would have no opposition , we would certainly be in a league of our own . -

Wouldn't want Kennett too hit and miss IMO, Shanes is a Sunday grasstracker so we can forget about him. -
In one sense no he didn't as he was given permission by Jed Rathbone to miss meetings to ride in Poland , but on the other hand he signed a contract to say he would ride for Panthers and Poole and as I don't believe he signed an agreement that waves that contract , then you have to assume he has broken the rules . He knew it was wrong and should be punished for it , give him a 3 months ban commencing at the start of the 2018 season regardless of what Peterborough or Poole think about it and let the Poles worry of how they will get around his visa problem . It will also send a message out to other riders to let them know British speedway won't tolerate those that think they can come to the U/K and just use us as a stepping stone over to Poland.
