Fours Festival Weekend
New era Panthers replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In the intended new formula there is not much choice for a venue suitable for a 2 day event with overnight camping and live music. As far as seeding to the final lets not do it at all , 12 teams drawn out of hat and bad luck if your team doesn't get drawn 3 winners of semi's and best 2nd place to final Brough park , fox hole and the Dump definitely not suitable and not sure you could handle all the flack that we have to put with from all the moaners and s/ stirrers such as yourselves A And I don't believe Fairies and Dragons but they now exist in Somerset i'm told HA HA -

The showground is not in the same position as you're Brough park is we have to rely on dates given to us by the showgound people, Panthers have no say in it anyway as it is a B.S.P.A. controlled event Peterborough are just the hosts -
Well my mother-in-law wasn't Welsh.

WTF are you talking about, are you aware of just how many Panthers riders you've been glad to take on loan in the last few years . L Bjerre, K Bjerre, Nils Christian Iversen for a start and you come up with such a stupid comment , your unreal the only way I could describe you is as a total SPACE CADET -

Lets try to get both of them on board would be a better idea , with the right guidance and hospitality and maximum publicity would be brilliant -

Did I say I did ? but what I did say is (I have faith in Ged Rathbone ) I am confident and happy to leave it in his capable hands which doesn't mean I know anything about Panthers finance's. I hope that's clear enough for you. -

Just wait and see you might be in for a shock on both fronts. We have faith in Ged Rathbone . Anyway what would you know about Panthers finance's to suggest we cannot afford K. Bjerre. -

Only about a week or so and we'll all know the answer, but I think Bjerre is still favourite -
Yes he's still favourite to land the NO1 spot. Not everybody's ideal choice but he's the best out there that may be available. We know what he's capable of and he should be a top NO1 in the PL, but?
-
I very much doubt Peterborough would be interested in Andre Compton , after his woeful performance in the playoffs , unknown 7 pointer from abroad would be a much better choice

Another alternative would be to approach Rick Frost with a view to him demanding a transfer fee for Lasse Bjerre or a swap deal for M.Kus and see how Brian Havelock likes it when the tables are turned on him Good point -

Porsing is not the answer and I don't like the thought of losing one of the six signed to make way for him. If he is the best option I would rather keep the six already signed with him even if we are well under the limit. Shameful to let any of the already signed riders go when they have already signed a contract. -

Thanks for your explanation , yes it does appear that i'm blaming the Polish federation for this without knowing the full facts . If it takes these measures to find out the reality then I am quite prepared to do so with no offence to anyone it may concern , at least we have a answer thank you -

Good question, you maybe correct, is there anybody out there who can explain this. It doesn't seem to be fair that the Polish speedway authorities are able to get away with this. It needs someone at the top of the British speedway scene to come up with a answer, as us laymen cannot understand it, why we are letting the Polish authorities dictate to us what we can or cannot do, yet the rest of the world are happy enough to comply letting there riders ride in the polish leagues with no restrictions placed on them. Again is there anybody out there who can throw any light on this matter. -
In 1971 yes they had rider averages but they were not used for team building purposes like they are present day, I believe if a team was deemed too strong because of there previous years success then they were told to unload maybe one or two top end riders to go to a team that had struggled the previous season, this did not effect all clubs just one or two at the top and one or two at the bottom . I believe it only effected British league division 1 as division 2 was still in its infancy and wasn't needed, I think they were called the rider control committee which was based on influencial promoters who were doing what was considered the right thing for the good of the sports future .

He rode Peterborough quite well in 2015 , I can't see he'll have much problem getting dialled in -
Would you like to be more specific on this sour grapes quote. I presume you are relating to the 2015 playoffs which we beat you fair and square in both legs despite all the hostilities Panthers riders, mechanics, officials, and supporters received from your promoter who thought he could pull a fast one and catch us out, didn't work though did it and you got exactly what you deserved, that was justice serviced on you

GOOD POINT not forgot the way he messed Panthers about last season and here we are putting ourselves in the same position knowingly this time. It's hard to see where we are going to find a NO1 anywhere that will not be missing any matches even with careful arrangement of fixtures which we know can go ** up weather wise anyway If he turns up with the right attitude he could take your comets apart, make them look like stars in the distance but will he turn up ?. It could be a big year for the lad with a change of attitude properly managed with no interference from his parents. The lad has the talent it would be a shame to waste it , all he needs is proper management
