  1. Mike Hunter, who just about everyone in speedway knows, probably including you too, could have easily sorted things for you.I don't for one minute imagine that you don't already know this, but no, you had to come on and make a story out of nothing. I'll let the other readers of this thread decide who the real imbecile is here.
  2. Fact is though, as we are a pretty close knit community, us speedway lot, a simple request or email would easily have sorted this out. I agree with Blobby's post, Lunnasperm, you could easily have got your DVD sorted without coming on here for a dig.
  3. The Glasgow track is, imo, dangerously one line going into turns 3 and 4, which means nasty accidents such as this are always likely to happen if the slightest error is made.
  4. If the weather doesn't win, then I see Glasgow winning by at least 10.
  5. While Bewley may or may not be ready to take on the PL, I have no doubt that given some time and encouragement, he will improve. After quite a few years of never getting any better, I'm afraid the same can't be said of Mitchell Davey. I know who I'd rather have at number 7. A rider who potentially can improve. Not one who definitely can't.
  6. I decided not to travel through on Sunday but the result didn't surprise me. However, although it's perfectly obvious that the team is considerably weaker than last year, it's a bit early to press any panic buttons. Let's see how things are going by early May.
  7. You can say that, but in my opinion what the promotion did was bordering on illegal extortion of money from the public. To allow folk to travel, pay money for parking, programmes and food that they will never see again, all in the knowledge from the promotion that they'd likely see nothing at the end of the day, was nothing short of a national scandal.Thankfully I didn't go, but if I had, I would not have left that stadium without threatening to contact the Citizens Advice Bureau over this blatant and deliberate (and successful) attempt to extort money from thousands of innocent punters.
  8. There's no doubt that from tweets and stories going around, the Belle Vue promotion knew days ago this meeting was in doubt. With that knowledge, they are the ones to blame. No one else. They should have shown some mettle and maturity and cancelled the meeting ahead of today, to stop people travelling from all over the UK and waiting for hours on end to see nothing. The fact that they refused to do that shows they callously and cynically wanted all the money in, and didn't give a damn about the fans. The BSPA should give them the strongest reprimand possible and fine them very heavily. They should also insist that things are right from now on, or else their right to promote should be questioned and possibly removed from them. British Speedway has waited months for this miracle to come together. To try to put some good news and good feeling back into the sport in this country. Instead, it has been served up a National DISASTER. Belle Vue Promoters - HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME.
  9. Ah ha, perhaps we're getting to the crux of the matter now. Let's lay the blame on Edinburgh who are legitimately only trying to protect their race night business when in fact, you are now admitting it's the BSPA who should be on the end of all the Tiggers' bitterness.
  10. Tongue in cheek surely. If you've been a speedway fan as long as me, then you will know fine well that very few fans can afford to travel far these days for their weekly fix, beyond their home track. Finances dictate otherwise. Unlike you.
  11. Good for you. But how many working class speedway fans across the UK can?
  12. 1. What world do you live in, where folk from across the UK no longer appear to work on a Friday?? 2. Riders who race in Poland manage to catch flights after racing on a Saturday night in various leagues across Europe and still arrive in time Couldn't they do this if the meeting were scheduled for the Saturday night that week?? If anyone's being pathetic, it's YOU!
  13. The Mafioso brothers may well be wealthy and hard nosed, but they are small fry compared to the Edinburgh promotional team in terms of experience in this field. Their ridiculous letter to the fans at the end of last season may have been a good idea in their eyes, but as we are seeing now, I have a feeling it will all come back to bite them firmly on the bums.
  14. My wife has held a British passport for nearly 20 years despite being born and brought up in Swaziland. If she is asked her nationality she says British. Which is entirely correct - she's a British citizen, not a Swaziland citizen holding a British passport. I'm not happy that Edinburgh hope to sign Davey as I think he's mince. But if he gets his passport, he'll be quite entitled to call himself British.
  15. Massively disappointed to read in the Edinburgh Evening News that Monarchs are awaiting Mitchell Davey to obtain a UK passport as he's the preferred number 7. I mean, at least the young Brit lads have a chance of improving after a few months. Davey has been around for years, done zilch, and never improved. On top of that, he'd also be returning from a serious leg injury! Jeez.
  16. Pity you couldn't replicate it when it really mattered though George, eh 😂
  17. George, you are displaying a certain amount of arrogance my friend. It's not so long ago, indeed only a season and a bit ago, that a visit from Edinburgh meant your crowd more than doubled. Yes, all is perhaps rosy at this point in time in the Tiggers garden. But things will change, you will see. Then you'll be more than glad to see one man and his dog.
  18. One season of crowd increases is fantastic. But how long are they (the brothers Facenna) going to stick around once the going gets tough, as it surely will soon. Let's remember that Edinburgh's promotional team have been in place now for an almost unbelievable 30 years. Now that's a long term plan.
  19. It would appear, if the above is true, that the Tiggers' millionaires want to now try to put the boot in to the Monarchs by avoiding all but official matches. I have to say, this appears really pathetic strop-like behaviour by them. And it works both ways. I certainly have no intention of crossing their palms with my silver anymore.
  20. Nah. He's not an improver these days either.
  21. Mr Blobby, on 01 Jan 2016 - 2:43 PM, said: If you've got a rider in mind who would do the job better and not demand heat leader rates please let us know. Blobby, you'd score more than him 😀
  22. Davey wouldn't be a gamble on 3 points. He'd be a complete waste of 3 points.
  23. That's a flawed way of thinking Mr Blobby. Why? Because as the season goes on, the other number 7s will improve and therefore start beating Davey. He has never improved. That's my reason for rejecting him as a potential number 7.
  24. To have any chance of success you need riders who can increase their averages. There's no way Mitchell Davey fits that bill I'm afraid....
  25. Problem with Mitchel Davey is that he has had umpteen chances and never proved to be better than mince. Why would this time be any different, especially as he's returning from a long lay-off with a serious injury?
