Which is precisely what happens in Poland before every match. Riders from each team are nominated to test the track, feed back to the rest, and this happens in the 30 mins prior to the meeting starting. If that had happened last night it would quickly have been obvious whether the track could be raced on or not.

But how many locals do Glasgow track? The fact is that that by returning from retirement after 8 or 9 years, Willie Lawson instantly assumes the mantle of Scotland's number 1 rider. That's sad. Until both Glasgow and Edinburgh think seriously about how to develop the next generation of riders, the situation will only worsen further, and hasten the UK's demise as a speedway nation altogether. That's the real problem, not the fact that Edinburgh are prepared to fly in foreigners.

Had Edinburgh added a couple of sentences to their press release, explaining the fact that the move was forced on them by Clegg being determined to race in Belgium on a day he should be turning out for the Monarchs, then none of this nonsense from either set of fans would have been necessary.

The thunderstorm and rain started about 2 minutes after I arrived in the stadium at 6.45pm last night. I should have videod how they fixed that and made it into a great racing surface. Every single trackman in the UK could learn a lot from it. Also I believe the different type of shale and the lack of clay makes it far easier to produce a top rated surface after rain like that.

No excuse not to be bearing in mind he was still firing out tweets after 3am! -
Of course not. But these are the ridiculous rules that speedway runs to.

Buying tickets from Zielona Góra website
stewmac replied to stewmac's topic in International World of Speedway
All sorted for me. Within 15 mins of emailing the club the other night at 9.45pm, along with a photo of the three seats I was trying to reserve, I had an email back confirming they had reserved these seats for me and I simply have to turn up and pay for them on the day. Can you possibly imagine that level of service if the roles were reversed and a Pole was emailing a UK club? -
No doubt he's still a squad member but I doubt they will call on him again.

The yellow and green ones are his Rawicz ones.

I would imagine that move spells the end of his Polish career.

Buying tickets from Zielona Góra website
stewmac replied to stewmac's topic in International World of Speedway
While other tracks in Poland have accepted my own name and details for each of the three tickets I'm buying, the ZG website seems not to accept these details, demanding individual names and passport numbers, but the problem is the others aren't registered. I may have to email the club directly. Thanks for your reply though! -
Buying tickets from Zielona Góra website

Thanks, will do. -
I'm off to Polska in a couple of weeks for my annual weekend and 3 matches - Gorzów v Leszno, Rawicz v Rzeszów and finally Zielona Góra v Leszno. I already have tickets bought and printed from the Gorzow website, but I wonder if anyone has experience of using the Zielona Góra website? Despite the prices having been announced and the option to buy tickets being available, whenever I click on the red button to buy, the website simply sticks. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Interesting to hear from a home fan that time taken to run meetings is an annoyance. When I mentioned this as a reason not to go a couple of years back I was roundly criticised by Tiggers fans.
