  1. Glad to see Zagar get up from what could have been a serious injury. That bike's for the bin though!
  2. Absolutely fantastic scrap between Zmarzlik and Zagar in heat 4! Didn't think Zagar could possibly get back, but wow!
  3. Great how it looks like they held the meeting up until the cameras were back on. Much appreciated!
  4. Are you for real? Any rider taking your approach would never even bother turning up to race any meeting anywhere, as they'd have talked themselves out of it before they started.
  5. Like Ghost rider said originally, any rider worth their salt with half a brain would be able to work that lot out after a heat on the track. It IS their job, after all... Just ask the two debutants from Sheffield who rode it a couple of weeks back - they seemed to manage just fine.
  6. What a lot of nonsense. It would take any rider a few weeks to get back up to speed after missing half a season, yet Willie has been out for 8 years - so what on earth do you expect? He's improving heat by heat, week by week at the moment and last night the main issue for him was just being a tad slow to get to the 1st bend. He came from the back to pass Bach in heat 2 and also heat 14, though Rene repassed him later in the heat, and he also took Campton from the back after a couple of laps in heat 7, though again he was caught on the run in to the line. If he keeps improving at the rate he is doing so, (bearing in mind he was well off the pace when he rode his first match back) he'll be what he stated he hoped he might be on the mic last week - able to bang in 4 or 5 each week at home by playoff time and add a couple away. He could well yet turn out to be the secret weapon, not the Achilles heel...
  7. To be fair to the guy, he is nearly 44 years old! I was at Zielona Góra three weeks ago and while he didn't score many he was never off the pace, just was a fraction slow to the first bend, which is what I've seen repeatedly from him this season.
  8. Which is precisely what happens in Poland before every match. Riders from each team are nominated to test the track, feed back to the rest, and this happens in the 30 mins prior to the meeting starting. If that had happened last night it would quickly have been obvious whether the track could be raced on or not.
  9. But how many locals do Glasgow track? The fact is that that by returning from retirement after 8 or 9 years, Willie Lawson instantly assumes the mantle of Scotland's number 1 rider. That's sad. Until both Glasgow and Edinburgh think seriously about how to develop the next generation of riders, the situation will only worsen further, and hasten the UK's demise as a speedway nation altogether. That's the real problem, not the fact that Edinburgh are prepared to fly in foreigners.
  10. Had Edinburgh added a couple of sentences to their press release, explaining the fact that the move was forced on them by Clegg being determined to race in Belgium on a day he should be turning out for the Monarchs, then none of this nonsense from either set of fans would have been necessary.
  11. What's going on at Rzeszów, with Hancock missing for the 2nd week running? Last week I was at Rawicz, and was disappointed to see him missing, and they announced it was due to "heat exhaustion" . Haha. Is it down to money??
  12. Was it you who was just behind me in Gorzow then? Amazing that they got that meeting on and the track as good as they got it to be.
  13. The thunderstorm and rain started about 2 minutes after I arrived in the stadium at 6.45pm last night. I should have videod how they fixed that and made it into a great racing surface. Every single trackman in the UK could learn a lot from it. Also I believe the different type of shale and the lack of clay makes it far easier to produce a top rated surface after rain like that.
  14. Looking forward to this weekend very much as I'm flying out on Friday morning and basing myself in Zielona Góra for the weekend. I'll be at the Gorzow v Leszno match Friday night, at Rawicz v Rzeszów on Saturday, and Zielona Góra v Leszno on Sunday evening. Can't wait!
  15. No excuse not to be bearing in mind he was still firing out tweets after 3am!
  16. Of course not. But these are the ridiculous rules that speedway runs to.
  17. All sorted for me. Within 15 mins of emailing the club the other night at 9.45pm, along with a photo of the three seats I was trying to reserve, I had an email back confirming they had reserved these seats for me and I simply have to turn up and pay for them on the day. Can you possibly imagine that level of service if the roles were reversed and a Pole was emailing a UK club?
  18. No doubt he's still a squad member but I doubt they will call on him again.
