  1. I agree it was a long drawn out issue but surely people understand it's very rare this happens. It's also easy to forget the time and money that's been invested into things like the foam fence. These are things the club have improved to speed the pace of meetings up, it's just unfortunate when you have something as severe as tonight that it holds things up. If it was your business, would you pay the considerable additional £ every week to prevent something that on average happens once every 2-3 seasons?
  2. But when was the last time that something like that happened? I'm pretty sure if it was a regular occurrence something would be done about it. It wasn't just one issue, the fact there were no NHS ambulances available contributed to the issue. I didn't particularly enjoy the waiting around but understand that these things happen from time to time.
  3. Don't normally need it as we don't ride on a goat track every week like you guys!
  4. Guests aren't allowed unless it's your number 1/reserve that's unavailable or their is more than one absentee in your team.
  5. I've been watching and it's not the guy in the tractor. It's generally Stewart that's instructing how many laps. Keep an eye on the guy at the pit gate entrance as he holds his fingers up to confirm how many more laps are needed. I've seen the guy driving the tractor shaking his head when being told and also one of the Facenna's wasn't happy about it on Sat night! I know we need grading but the grading after heat 10 was excessive to say the least and I didn't see it making a big difference to the track but agree it gives the opposition time to adjust things!
  6. Yes, it's only a 1.5 point reduction with most teams likely to field a 2 point reserve @ 7. I reckon it'll be Richie, Nike, Dan Bewley and another. Don't think we will get anymore signings until the 25th at the GTSSG event.
  7. Agreed. I fully expect/hope that this is the team. Lawson's season average is quite a bit higher than the 8.22 he's been signed on as well.
  8. I see it as a team (albeit no idea on reserve) that all have the potential to improve and with effectively a heat leader at 1,3 and 5 with more than decent support at 2 and 4. Not forgetting the fact it is 5 of our 7 from this year!
  9. What about: Summers - 8.57 Worrall - 8.49 Lawson - 8.22 Lunna 4.9 Bewley - 4 Ayres - 3.7 Reserve - 2 Total = 39.88
  10. Which rider are you referring to? If they rode PL last year and averaged sub 3, that's their average subject to a minimum of 2. If they didn't race PL last year, or before, they come in on a 2 point average in either league.
  11. Posted at 10.33 on the 7th November... UPDATE 2 | British riders who have never achieved a three-point average can start next season on a two in both leagues... Pretty clear now?
  12. As I've already said, why would they have this rule, and be making a big deal of it, if it was only for 8 riders (that's how many started last season on 3 and dropped). It's becoming clearer that the 2 point is for any young British rider that doesn't have an average. The question is, do these qualify for the number 7 slot? Not really, you could use a 3 pointer at 7 and that only leaves you 37 for the rest - total 40. Or you could use a 2 pointer at 7 and have 38 for the rest - total 40. Still a reduction on this seasons teams either way.
  13. Agreed and as unusual as some of the rules are, surely this one hasn't been created for just the 8 riders that didn't attain a 3 this year? In addition, if you 'have' to have a 3 at number 7 that means the 2 pointer would be at number 6, who in their right mind would set up with that sort of partnership at reserve?
  14. There seems to be some confusion on the new number 7. The last I read said, if it's a new rider e.g. smith then he'll come in on a 2 point average.
  15. Sounds good to me. I like the lineup with any of those top 3 lining up with Nike or Bewley at 2 and 4. It would only leave us 3.5ish for another reserve tho.
  16. So, Rene isn't back next season. I'd have had him down as a certain returnee up until the reduction in team building points was announced. I would assume the rest of the team is pretty much decided now then.
  17. Ok maybe not but a 40 point team build limit!
  18. I suspect they're, quite rightly, getting the bad news out first.
  19. It happened this year as well, at Edinburgh I think. The rule book doesn't say someone 'has' to be excluded although I don't think any ref would rerun it from bend 2 onwards without excluding someone. I agree though, there are situations that merit it!
  20. I reckon from the latest post on Twitter that Glasgow will be lining up in the Elite League next season. Room for Harris, Lawson, Summers and Bach if that is the case!
  21. I would take him on a 9 point average but nothing higher. We'll soon find out if the rule has been changed.
  22. What's the conversion from EL average to PL? Just seen Harris say he wants to ride in both if possible. Always fancied him at Glasgow and don't think his EL average is too high.
