Glasgow v Scunthorpe 1/6/18 championship
Solidmango replied to Tosh1218's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Aaron would work in place of Stefan and I reckon it could be Erik Riss for Worrall. It’ll be an interesting meeting and hopefully not as dusty as Sunday! -

I agree inconsistencies are the issue but disagree that these are down to the TM. Bike issues and Paul picking up a bad injury being the main problem neither of which are related to the TM. Same issue with Charles Wright last week, below average performance but when he rode against us he was brilliant. Like I say, i don’t dispute inconsistency is costing us but feel people making claims about the TM/management team/Stewart leaving being the root of the problem are completely unfounded and lack any sort of substance -

I’d prefer not to interpret anything and just work based on facts. Either Richie refused to ride or he chose not to with the team in mind, it’s pretty straightforward really. We don’t know the situation and likely never will. If team morale was an issue I can’t see that having an impact on individual riders scores, team riding yes but not individual scores in a job where poor performance directly impacts your wages! Lewis has had one bad meeting, Claus has exceeded his average virtually every meeting as has Jack. Paul is clearly injured and Chris has had a number of bike issues both for Glasgow and Rye House. Tell me where the issues are other than more than one team member (not the same ones every week) having issues on the same day which cost us in our two home defeats?! -

To be fair this is the first I’ve heard of read about team spirit being an issue. Everything in all the interviews both written and video have been stating team spirit is exceptional! Noticed a a couple of people saying Richie refused to ride heat 15, what we don’t know is did he refuse or say he didn’t feel like he was fast enough. 2 massively different answers, one putting the team first and the other the opposite! -

Spot on re Sarj and not many people seem to realise that! I haven’t heard about the issue in the pits with a certain rider but that’s an interesting one. Is this a rumour or has it been confirmed? If true then they need to make a change! -

I think overall we have just been very inconsistent as a team other than Sarjeant and Harris everyone else has had their good and bad matches. Lewis Kerr - incredible season so far but struggled today. Claus - again top season so far couldn’t really ask for more. Paul - really struggling since picking up that injury a few weeks ago, shown again today by only scoring 4/5. Richie - slow start but has found some form now. Jack - sensational for a 2 pointer! James - questions have to be asked when he is being consistently outscored by the ‘junior’ reserve. Chris - incredible run of bad luck and I’m sure he will come good. People blaming all the issues on the new TM clearly know something I don’t. Almost every interview that has taken place has comments about how great the team spirit is and in a profession where pay is related to performance I really find it hard to believe he is having such a negative impact on proceedings. Ps the ref was terrible today and that cost us even allowing for the poor performance -

Exactly!!! He said he didn’t want to ride so the “amateurish” team manager went for Harris who asked to ride. It’s a bit poor to start blaming the team manager for 4 engine failures in 5 rides. -

What did Lewis Kerr say about heat 15? -

Got to agree here, Starke should not have ridden on Friday or Saturday. Chris Harris is having an absolutely terrible time of if witt bikes, even when he borrowed others something similar happened. For me questions need to be asked of Richie Worrall, started the season as no.1 and has been very poor this season. Vissing and Kerr have been carrying the team with Sarjeant and Thomas attaining more than their average in most meetings. -
Glasgow v Sheffield SGBCL 04/05/2018 @ 19.30

I don’t think this has anything to do with experience or lack of. Given Jack was already riding injured and it’s not unusual for the ‘stronger’ reserve to come in as a replacement for the ‘weaker’ reserve, I reckon all that’s happened is James wrongly assumed he was replacing Jack when told he was in heat 14. As a result he’s checked the programme and come out in the wrong coloured helmet and tried to line up in Jack’s gate. Its a simple mistake that has been made and who’s to say it wasn’t Cami that spotted the issue first off and sent someone running across the centre green with the correct coloured helmet cover? Lets be honest, it’s not the first time this has happened and won’t be the last. In my opinion the fact it’s a new manager has absolutely nothing to do with it. -
I agree. The problem is the SCB get plenty of grief when they do try and sort it out; They banned/gave Cook the 7 day window to allow him to properly recover from his 'illness' last week and all you read is people saying they are killing the sport. They fined PB £10k (apparently the fee they received for allowing holder to go to Poland when the 4's were on), and again they're ruining the sport! If guys don't want to ride in the UK then we simply don't need them. Holder should be banned from the UK next year for his antics this year.

I've heard differently and that was from Kyle himself at the Ignition Festival in Glasgow earlier this year! -

I suspect they'll go for Edinburgh rather than risk Glasgow when they don't know who half our team will be when deciding! -

Greaves guesting at reserve apparently for Redcar. That could be the deciding factor unfortunately. -

Agree with all the posts regarding needing a solid reserve! Looking at the current averages there are some very attractive offerings and I wonder how many riders have one eye on not being frozen out for next year! -

Poor and another midmeeting collapse. Unfortunately the reserves are costing us big time and at a very important part of the season.
