Edinburgh V Newcastle Pl 27/5/16 @7.30pm
Endeavour replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
End of last season Victor was one I would have liked Monarchs take a chance on with a relatively low average for 2016. Fortunate that Stevie wasn't riding tonight as Newcastle deservedly would have won. Strong unit when all seven are available. Would fancy them against any team home and away. -

Any plans to put Jye back at number 2 IF promotion are going to stick with him? Monarchs a bit exposed in heat 14. -
2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers

Cookie has bust a gut this year to try and ride regularly in Poland but hasn't been given a fair crack at it. Everyone goes on about how old he is at the same time we welcome Scott Nicholls back into Team GB reckoning. couldn't make it up. -
Peterborough Panthers 2016

You've not got just a great rider but an excellent team man. Wish Cookie all the best. He has deserved more chances in Poland. -
Well said. Don't think young Max is at a stage in his career when he should be riding in 3 divisions. In an article somewhere he said that Stevie Worrall has done it but with all due respect he ain't no Stevie Worrall. A bit more aggression required away from home. While young Dan is developing we need Max to step up his game. Could the averges soon show Edinburgh with three riders averaging less than 3 points a match. We must keep Dan, if we don't someone else will snap him up.

At the Meeting last night. Well done to both teams and track staff and all concerned with getting the Meeting finished. Surprised there was a parade at the start. Circumstances not helped by a good few riders taking 2 rides on the trot. Edinburgh , Well done to the top three and Erik who in his last few races looked very strong. Dan the (Wee) Man one for the future and once Steve Lawson works on his gating one for the very near future. Has some guts which Max seems to be lacking on wet tracks and surely riding in three leagues will take its toll. Monarchs need him to up his game. Can't judge Jye on a few meetings but he seems to be struggling with his equipment. We can't go a full season with a 4 man team, need at least 5 to function

We could just ride with 6 riders with same points limit. Declare new 6 man team. Gives all the other teams a chance this season. Saves on expenses . More room in the pits. Sorted!!!!!

If Mitchell doesn't get passport who is available?

Better tread carefully there

2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016
Endeavour replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wonder if the "change of mind" from Scott would have happened it GB weren't seeded straight through to final. Would he have been willing to ride abroad for us if we weren't hosts this year and the final wasn't on his home track? If Lambert makes the same strides as he did last year he should be in with Cook, Woffinden and Harris if they are the best 3 on form. Always found Scott very open, honest and articulate in interviews but I think this smacks of a rider wanting to end his career with a SWC medal in the relative comfort zone of his own track and country. -
Here here! Watching his performances away from home on Friday makes you realise how much we will miss him this season. Hope he realises all his ambitions. Great guy and a great captain.

"youth" covers quite a wide age range Can anyone answer this question? If all these "young" riders average just over 3 points season 2016 will the powers that be still stick to this no 7 3.00 policy for 2017? Would there not be a shortage of riders for the 2017 season?
-
Well said Mags!
-
Would it not have been easier to insist that number 7 must be British and not put 3.00 cap on it.
-
He went over with Cookie to Poland to help him and Will at an individual meeting towards end of last season. In the second half racing always looked stylish. A few years ago when he was reserve was bit scared to mix it. Admit we are trying to exploit a loop hole. A certain Ian Thomas would be proud. Did any team not try to take a punt on Spiller for number 7 spot?
-
Mitchell Davey is not British BUT if he gains a UK passport is entitled to ride. Exposing a loophole? Yes. Am I doing cartwheels at the thought of this very likeable young man being the answer to our number 7 problem? No. How many other teams have signed a GB rider who they think could go all the way in the sport. Folks look at the age of your team's number 7. There should have been an age cap put on it if you want to encourage Y O U N G GB talent. If he does ride I hope he has an injury free season. Was a great asset in the pits last year. Duly acknowledged by promotion at end of season dance.
-
Take your point and the promotion are trying to expose a loop hole but "young" GB rider. Many of them are in their twenties, some nearer 30.
-
Think Summers is a good team man and skipper.
-
Never heard of him February I mean.
-
No punch line. No news.
-
Anyone heard anything about the Edinburgh number 7?
-
.Which makes me think whatever red tape needs to be overcome to bring Mitchell Davey into the three pointer equation is currently the reason of the hold up .What I do find strange is that Edinburgh will start with a septet over a point under the points limit . I find that very strange too. cant see Mitchell if he is the rider being the answer to our number 7 problem. Nice guy but had a lot of injuries. Remember he came over to UK with Josh and look how their careers have differed. Again hope the promotion prove me wrong. They have the last two seasons.

If Edinburgh have their 3.00 rider why don't they just announce it? Think we have too long a tail Etheridge and Max and 3 point man. Missed a trick with Matty Wethers. He would have come in under a 5.
