Glasgow v Edinburgh CL 30/6/19 @ 15.00
Endeavour replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thought our boys put up a spirited performance, well six of them did. Shows how low our ambitions currently are when I am satisfied scoring 35 points at Glasgow. Thanks to Nathan Greaves for his efforts. Would hope that is the last time we see Lawson in an Edinburgh race jacket. -

What riders would you ditch to strengthen the team? -
And for the team he let down big time on the night.

Thanks for the kind words Dot about hospitality and wishing us well in the future at home. I don’t think we will improve much unless we jettison our number 6. For someone with his experience to pull out another bike from a van without having been examined is totally shocking. Should have been sent packing weeks ago. I said before Glasgow can only beat what’s in front of them. Referee unusually for him was a bit lax but that is not fault of the opposition. I coach sport and think fans sometimes need to look at situations with a more non biased and balanced view. Must be hard for management to get beat by your nearest and dearest in such circumstances but they need to act and address how to take team forward. -

Quite a glib comment at the end by the promoter. Short term this has probably cost Edinburgh a home victory. Don’t see a Monarchs away victory coming soon but if it did this home defeat could come back to haunt them at the end of the season. Can’t remember a season when everything has seen to have gone wrong for us. Injuries, off form riders and Drug Gate. ☹️ -
Totally unprofessional of any sportsman to take medication without knowing what the contents are. Info freely available from WADA.

Not really any excuse for professional sportsmen failing drug test. WADA publish info freely available to all sports. In the past included things to watch out for in day to day medicines. -

Probable legal reasons they couldn’t announce. The “Drug test story” was flying round stadium quicker than Lawson on his push bike. Hard to think of what they could actually announce what was credible. Howarth let down promotion, fans and team. Cost us the match along with lamentable secret weapon reserve. On another topic. Really enjoying Liam and John presenting. Still miss Scott Wilson but they are going from strength to strength every week. -

Never felt as disappointed being an Edinburgh fan this season. Monarchs promotion always prided itself on assembling a team with riders with potential to improve, not necessarily riders who just maintain their starting average. Ricky - going through a bad patch. Needs more support to help him through it from the other 2-5 riders. Cameron - our rider of season so far Josh - Mr Entertainment, need him back fit urgently Joel and Victor - great when they gate but struggle when at the back to make an impression Justin and Willie - wouldn’t have had them back this season. Justin had a year out and struggled season before. Rode well in title winning years but need to remember he rode alongside Cookie. Lawson should be cleaning up at reserve. Not fully committed in his approach. Always great to watch Cookie, just a pity it’s in a red suit. Well done to young Bickley. -

Lawson showed “little bit more fight” when? He should have cleaned up tonight against other reserves and then he wouldn’t move over for Joel in a crucial race. He has unreliable equipment and despite living in Scotland invariably turns up late and totally unprepared. No pride in either machinery or Kevlars. Riding a bike not inspected coupled with Howarth’s “family” crisis cost us the match. The two Cumbrian boys rode well and Glasgow can only beat what’s in front of them. Ricky is going through a bad spell perhaps highlighted more because of injuries to two riders who were expected to share the load. Our boys need to develop a more ruthless streak. -
Would Josh McDonald fit in? I am not a great one to study the averages and how it works.

Sedgy has been a good servant but he is a shadow of the rider who performed well in the past, all be it with Cookie as his partner. He has missed a season and the season before last was released by a few Clubs. Plus a serious injury. Regards to Lawson; totally agreed with you. Unprepared and old machinery leads to inept performances. Don’t see much passion with these 2 guys. Sedgy’s race with young Connor Coles was pitiful to watch, fair play to young Connor. -

Photographers in British Speedway
Endeavour replied to GreenLightGo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Very very talented but His name has obviously opened a few doors or does every track let teenagers onto the track who wish to learn and become a photographer. The photographers at Edinburgh and Glasgow and other tracks have served our sport well for years for NO financial gain and they have won awards in the past. This scenario should have never made its way onto a public forum. Father Lanning has used his profile to put his side of this sorry tale over and decent guys throughout the UK have not the same platform to respond. Sort it out behind closed doors.- 103 replies

Not normally one for pressing the panic button but think time to change one possibly two riders. Good to see Ricky looking bit more like his old self -

Hope Berwick have a good season. Good fans and always a nice welcome when you go there. -
Would Joe Lawlor have been sacked if there was not a rider of Bickley’s potential available?
-
Tend to agree with you Dorothy but Bickley has a lot of promise and potential. Unfair on any rider signed for a team who hasn’t turned a wheel yet and not able to find a team in this division. Think any team would think the same which still doesn’t make it morally correct. A lot of teams in this division with a long tail.

Wee bit worried what Justin will do this season.
