Don't apologize, I'm the one who just called you old xD
-
Ohhh xD I don't think I'm old or British enough for that one xD
-
Wut? I'm just looking forward to 2018 now... Already, because this year is becoming boring, the races are all so predictable and our team is struggling... I'm still going to attend the rest of 2017, but I'm not hopeful of any results/not excited about the team... Which I should be, I mean we have one of the biggest talents in speedway...

Workington V Newcastle 25th June 1:00pm Koc 1st Leg

He does that a lot when he's getting nowhere... -
I thought Rene was our asset still? I hope we sign him too

Coles Out Now For Captain Fantastic
Dandelion replied to boomerang's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yep, and I see Dan Greenwood doing a lot better than Connor... He won his first race back (at home) where Connor hadn't even come close to winning a race so far this season... -
So maybe he hasn't broken anything? Or maybe Twitter is assuming, anyway, I'd prefer Steve to be fit and riding, I was just worried he'd be out for a month or so and we'd be stuck with R/R with Ludvig, Rose and Ashley taking rides.....
-
Ah, I see, I just thought since the leagues both had the same average at the beginning of the year, that they would all year too, but I guess there'd be a few loopholes in that logic (but that wouldn't be out of place in speedway)
-
Anyway..... How long is Steve going to be out for? If it's going to be over a month, and he's not going to be our number 1 (if Robert is), instead of using R/R, can we wait until the 23rd (When the PL average's get updated) and bring in Max Fricke (with his new 7.25 average) on a 28 day contract to cover for Steve? Or does it not work like that? In my head, I believe that the rules are that the two top leagues share the averages? Like at the beginning of the year, correct me if I'm wrong and it would be Max's beginning of the season, 9.92 average that would have to be used... Thanks

Think that Redcar select will still win, 50-40ish (plus whatever extra points from Steve's tactical ride in Heat 9)
-
Agreed Next year, if we can keep Steve as a powerhouse, bring in Rene and keep Ludvig (yes) and Rose as 3 and 4... Hopefully we'll be able to have a pretty solid team... Hope Phillips comes back (as long as he's with a good senior reserve) as I feel he was just starting to come good before his injures... And I'd love to see them squeeze Ashley in somehow... I hope that the point limit goes back up... Because 40 points is not enough to keep interesting top 5s and good reserves... It's boring watching Robert Vs Masters and Coles Vs Davey in the same race for example... I want to see 4 riders racing eachother...
-
Not even to strengthen out obvious weaknesses? I'm sorry but Rene would do just s good of a job at Brough as Robert does and he'd do a pretty decent job on the road, everyone just likes Robert because he's so young... And I admire him too I've always loved Rene, probably the only rider I'd chose over Ludvig I think Rene and Kenni got in each others way because neither could bare to lose to their team mate Haha
-
So basically, he rode for Peterborough first, but really made his name in Newcastle
-
He rode for Peterborough and Newcastle in 2009. dunno which team first, but I would say he made his name more up north where he stayed a while, than Peterborough
-
I certainly am ^_^ Yep, so a return is not out of the question I don't necessarily mean this year, but in the future maybe I think George has left it too late, if we were going to make a Lambert + reserve out move, we needed to do it before the first average change was made... When Steve, Lewis and Ashley's average were at the point they were at the beginning of the season
-
Was there ever an opportunity for us to get Bacon? Peterborough would have to want to let him go first... Ooooo, don't even suggest dropping Lambert, people get mad if you do that... Trust me... Looking at Rene's twitter, he must have some kind of soft spot for Newcastle in general... I really really hope he's back one day Come back Bach

I know, I was only joking, I actually love Garrity's attitude, yes, it might be a little 'odd' or dangerous, but I love it, Garrity is and probably always will be one of my favourite riders... Even if he is a Bear At the beginning of the year I wanted Garrity to come to Brough to spearhead Newcastle's team with Steve, this was when I thought for sure Robert would have moved on...

I 100% agree with you on Luvig, he would be my last choice too... Yes, but he's had a few more years under his belt and I saw him race last year and I thought he looked very quick and smooth actually, hope he goes in at number 7 for us... Plus, he's more likely to stay on his bike than Connor... I hope... With his more experience I miss watching Tully ride I only got to see him twice... Yeah, he can, I was just overreacting to prove a point the Diamonds seem to be left at the gates all the time... It can get really frustrating Can't afford to do that against the likes of Craig Cook and Sam Masters around Brough for example... -
He'll go on an unbeaten run now, including guesting for CL and PL clubs... Maximums all around
-
I think the only name that would improve the team would be Rene (yes, this is me saying that Rene would be better than Ludvig) but I would still prefer Ludvig over Rene... I would hate to see Ludvig go, he'd be the last out of the 7 riders I'd chose, being our team captain and for how long he's stuck by our club for... I think Greenwood and Hopwood will do at reserve, if both can score at least 2 a meeting, they've done their job... I think that our 1-5 justifies that... Just with Connor scoring nothing most of the time, it wasn't doing the team or him any good at al... The only other rider I would think would do well who I KNOW would be on a 2.00 average would be Nathan Stoneman, he's been very solid for Kent so far this year... So if Dan doesn't work out, or god forbid either of our reserves get injured or retire (as a lot of young 2.00 riders seem to be doing as their confidence gets knocked) Nathan would be a good shout... Out of the four (Ludvig, Rene, Kus and Robbo) Ludvig would be the one I'd prefer to have in my team... So I've got no problems and I don't need to keep dreaming Just a passing comment as everyone seems to want Ludvig out...???

None of the Diamonds can gate... At least Ludvig has the guts to make a pass... Unlike Matej... Who just kinda sits behind and is happy to take whatever position he has -
The kangaroo is here to stay haha I'd never get angry at someone for having an opinion on someone I'll just put forward my opinion too Also, on a side note this "NEWCASTLE – "It's a situation we have to rectify as soon as possible." Boss George English bemoans a lack of sparkle from the Diamonds on the road this season." was on the round up thingy on the Speedway GB website, could that mean more changes ahead? Or will George just get more angry in team meetings? I wonder...

Garrity would declare himself fit if he had 3 broken legs and a broken neck... Let's see what the doctors say
