A question... Adam Ellis' new PL average (as of 10/07/2017) is going to be 4.17... He started the year on a 7.64 average... If, for example and this is purely just an example, we dropped Ashley and brought in Adam Ellis, would his average for our league be 4.17 or 7.64 (which wouldn't fit) The two leagues shared averages at the beginning of the year, would this now be the case for the rest of the season? And season's to come? This is just examples because I think I'd prefer Ashley over Adam anyway, but it's just a rule I'm curious about how the averages for the PL and CL work... Adam Ellis would be a bargain on a 4.17 average!!!

It was really good to stay behind and watch as this was one of the first ones I was able to watch, I hope the injured riders recover (Jack Wright and Dale Pate), unfortunately I had to leave after the second 125 race though as I had a plane to catch What happened in the last 500 race? 3-0 is a strange result

The only reason riders have been 'targeted' is because we needed to team change to get a proper play off challenge kick started, (might be too late now? Who knows) But I think if this change works, there'll be less calls for team changes, or there will be from me anyway... Best top 5 in the leagues (definitely not bias ) And if we have decent reserves too, I'm not complaining

Thanks for the information, I didn't know that That'd be great, but I really don't see Shanes happening, for anyone in our league
-
Well he continued on the night, I'm not suggesting he won't be out at all, he might miss the meetings this week, but hopefully, he'll be back in our team soon? It'd be interesting, if we do need a guest, if we use Alfie, maybe it'd be like a little trial at the club for him, see if he fails or not
-
Tough rider, hopefully he can continue, and if not, temporary signing of Alfie Bowtell maybe? And bring Ben back once he's fit again, to get a paid max with a broken foot is good https://twitter.com/diamondspeedway?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor Newcastle's Twitter, and no, I'm not on Twitter, but it's a useful place to get news quick, as our website is a bit sh!t I've been very very impressed with Ben Hopwood this year, one of the biggest surprises for me for sure We've already had this joke And we came to the conclusion that I'm not old or British enough to understand it xD Also, I still thought Rene was our asset...?

Haha... Great to see that it is Steve and Robert representing us in the pairs Nice to actually be using our top two riders, now all we need is Steve, Robert, Ludvig and Lewis to be available for the fours
-
That's great to hear, I feared he may be losing interest or confidence with the sport, and yet again because of a stupid rule, throwing kids in the deep end, we would lose another

Has Jack just quit the CL this year to focus on developing in the NL? Or is he just seeing out his season at Birmingham? What's going on?

Well where I stood, no one cheered when the riders crashed? They cheered when Cook was disqualified AFTER both 2 minutes ran out, well, well after the crash, when clearly both the riders were up and ok... (And this was only because we got the result, not because Craig was out of the race) It was also interesting to read on the Workington website, apparently Thomas was taken off, but from where I stand, it looked like he fell off himself and took Craig down with him

I love Scott Nicholls, I'd love to see him ride for Newcastle... But will he not be busy with BT on Sunday? Being a commentator Hey, I mean absolutely ZERO disrespect for Berwick, I know they're a good team and I used to watch there quite frequently, all I'm saying is that it SHOULD be a pretty comfortable win for Newcastle... And therefore, I'd like to see some of our less experienced and our number 8 get a run out, they need the track time, if anything, I'm showing disrespect to the three riders I mentioned, calling them inexperienced at Brough
-
Yeah, tbh it'd be good if we just got Richie in for Lambert and then had R/R for Steve (Maybe put Ludvig at 5), and give Dan, Ben and Josh Embleton the rides, I'm sure they need the experience and I think we'd be ok against Berwick (I don't mean this in an offensive way) My Uncle lives just south of Newcastle, in Durham and he says it's been chucking it down all day there I hope it's still on, but then again, it's always best to find out before you travel, and for me, it's going to be a looong way for no meeting... My attitude to the whole season has completely changed since last week, I was a bit sick of speedway, but that meeting against Workington has completely won me over again
-
So whoever went through, Workington or Newcastle, won't make it any further anyway, which makes all the arguing even more pointless... Ahhh, so if we're allowed two guests, Richie and Aaron please Not bothered who Berwick use, think we should beat them anyway... Has anyone who works with/on the track been there recently? How bad is it? Is there a chance it might be off? It'd be nice to know early because I am in Finland right now but will be travelling over to see the speedway, but if it's not on, I don't think I'll bother making the journey to start with. (I know it's early to say yet, but any idea would be nice) Will there be any junior meetings afterwards too? They're always interesting to watch

Hope it's not Knight, I've not given up hope that I'll see him in Newcastle kevlars come the end of the season yet...
-
I was just trying to make the point that we should move on from pointlessly arguing about a result of a meeting that's over now and we should talk about something else... People all have different opinions of what happened, but at the end of the day it's Newcastle who are going through, whether people like it or not, arguing and swearing about it isn't going to solve a thing...

Thought I should point out too and just make a separate post for him, I was very very impressed with Ben Hopwood last night, especially considering he was a 2.00er who didn't even get a first pick... I thought he rode very well and even though he's not the quickest rider out there, he looked very smooth and solid and put in 110% effort from start to finish in every race, some of the gates he made yesterday were unbelievable, it was also nice to see him working off the track too, sprinting out like a bloody leopard to refill Steve's tank, never seen someone move so fast before while wearing a steel shoe Brave... That heat 14 5-1 he got with Ludvig was hugely important and he didn't crack under the pressure at all, he also did his job perfectly in heat 12 to hold Proctor up for a lap to let Rose get away for a more comfortable win... 7+1 from 5 rides, very impressive, but he deserved so much more than that just for effort imo Good job Ben

Heat 15 only added to the drama, drama is what creates atmospheres (good and bad, yes) but that's what we like about sports... Atmosphere, I have never heard so much atmosphere in the stadium as I have tonight, I don't know if that's because everyone was outside, or because the meeting was so good, but tonight was one of the best speedway meeting I have ever been to (only since 2009) Yeah, the runtime was quite long, but as previously mentioned, it's best to sort the track out so that the riders don't keep falling off and getting injured, I hope all riders (James, Robert and Craig if actually hurt) are all ok and are able to take part in whenever their next meetings are... Good luck

Of course not, I wouldn't insult you, or anyone who didn't deserve it I've never even heard of it before
