I wondered if Wilko might fall victim and get in a few mid 6 to 7 point riders and have Ash and Tero at reserve until Matty drops down, even Matty and Tero at reserve is ridiculously strong, then again I don't think Wilko deserves it as he seems very keen and always gives 110% effort and has played his part so far this year, I don't envy George right now I do agree, I think someone might fall victim to the 'number game' and the obvious one atm is Robbo since he's out injured, I just feel a bit sorry for whoever it may be, harsh reality of being a sports person though... All I can say is I think there are only three riders safe; Ashley, Ludvig and Tero
-
I am not basing this on fact because I don't remember and can't look now, but Konopka was around for a while for a few different teams, so I'd imagine he got an average, not so sure about Bukhave though...
-
Fine, hand Matej over to Newcastle Don't think Edinburgh would be too happy with one of them, but fair picks for the other three, wonder if George's scout will be there
-
Some people just will never be happy with Ludvig... He scored 17+1 and beat a very fast looking Rory Schlein and you're still criticising him... Point is, he beat the riders in front of him tonight and that's all he can do, whether that's a team of '3 reserves' (I'm sorry but I only saw two) and a hitty missy Ben Barker
-
Will we ever find out who that was, maybe just even a hint? Just curious more than anything...
-
It has missed many
-
But it will be the Newcastle 'Patched up' Diamonds Vs the Ipswich 'Walking Wounded' Witches, it's evens it out!!
-
But his performances were 'highlighted' constantly last year too... By the same few
-
So are you accusing him (or his mechanic, who doesn't seem to have the best reputation) of tampering with his bike, or purposely riding crap at tracks he doesn't like? I'm sure he is the person who wants points scored the most, after all it is his income... The good thing about Ludvig is that he does have great races where he passes stars, or nights where he is untouchable, and generally it's some of the best racing out there, I know it doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, to me, it makes all the rest of the meetings where he's struggled worth it... However, I must say that I don't think someone like that should be a number 1, or a number 5 really, it was better last year when he was in the 3/4 partnership all year (Still my favourite diamond) Although Ashley is pushing for that lol
-
Wish I'd been there to see it, sounds like it was a cracking meeting, I'm still in Finland and have only seen them once this year!! No offence to Robbo, he's a great man and all that, but I wouldn't exactly call him a decent number 1 either, no rider in our team is a number 1, but as long as we have good reserves, that's not too bad I guess

Up to and including: Sunday, October 22, 2017 . AVERAGES M R P B GSA Ave. 1st 2nd 3rd 4th R Ex Robert Lambert 28 133 310 14 9.32 9.74 75 34 17 4 2 1 Steve Worrall 29 142 324 11 9.13 9.44 78 37 16 7 1 3 Ludvig Lindgren 33 146 263 29 7.21 8.00 43 50 34 17 0 2 Stuart Robson 14 61 107 13 7.02 7.87 13 26 16 4 1 1 Ashley Morris 36 150 183 33 4.88 5.76 22 34 49 35 4 6 Ben Hopwood 30 122 75 14 2.46 2.92 3 12 42 59 2 4 Alfie Bowtell 20 86 47 13 2.19 2.79 0 9 29 44 2 2 Lewis Rose 18 77 125 20 6.49 7.53 16 29 19 8 1 4 Danny Phillips 4 16 14 5 3.50 4.75 2 2 4 5 2 1 Dan Greenwood 3 12 6 1 2.00 2.33 1 1 1 9 0 0 Connor Coles 12 45 7 2 0.62 0.80 0 1 5 33 2 4 . Last year Ludvig averaged third highest in our team, behind Steve and Robert which is reasonable, he averaged better than Robson and Lewis (Our other two heat leaders so far this year) How does he under perform and the likes of Robson and Lewis don't? Fair enough, he's had a shaky start to this year, but the whole team has, what did anyone else expect? He's in a position that he shouldn't be in (number 1) and the whole team throughout is pretty weak compared to other teams in the league, we have no money and we've been told since last November that this year would be dodgy, as RD says, Ludvig will always be the whipping boy However, I do agree, Robbo, Ash or even Wilko should maybe be the captain, never quite understood the captaincy for Ludvig other than the fact he's been a face at Newcastle for many years so it's a bit of familiarity
-
He has a Polish team... Although I know that doesn't necessarily mean no, it probably won't help...
-
Robson at 1 could be even more dodgy than Ludvig!! But I feel that Ludvig will be better in the main body that Robson is, so maybe it's ok in the end. Although I'm glad Ash it at reserve still
-
Are Bjerre and Hougaard 'home grown' does that mean they have to be British or they they've spent some of their career in this country already, what does that mean?
-
But is there a way to bend the rules? Like with the one rider above 8 in original declared line up but then you can have 2 after that in the prem, can we do that? Or is it ok for some rules to be bent but not others?
-
Maybe Rohan Tungate might want to double up?
-
I say we wait until next months averages come out before we look for a replacement, then maybe Kevin Wolbert might fit? Or maybe someone daft like Kenneth Bjerre or Patrick Hougaard if they're available on Sundays? At least if this is out last season we'll go out with someone to cheer on, (no offence to our current riders, I love them all but there isn't exactly a big, exciting name) Kenneth Bjerre/Patrick Hougaard and Danny Ayres in for Lewis and Carl maybe? Have absolutely no idea if that'd fit... Hopwood instead of Ayres might fit? I know I'm just living in dream land though haha Then have the team as Kenneth/Patrick Tero Ludvig Stormy Robbo Ayres/Hopwood Ash
-
Christ, that means Ludvig is at 1, this forum might get interesting, personally I'm looking forward to watching this team, might not be the strongest, but all 7 riders are entertainment How would everyone put the team? Obviously Ludvig is at 1 and Morris and Wilko are at reserve, how will the rest of the team look? I can see Lewis being our number 1 pretty quickly
-
I knew he retired, I was just wondering how he is health wise, he's all ok? No adverse effects to his freak accident? I only ever got to see him ride a few times
-
I don't think Ben would leave Redcar to join someone else, I am wondering whether he's retiring? I dunno, I'd like him at Newcastle, but if he stays in this league, sure;y it's with Redcar I agree, but it's worth the thought in the back of your mind, that he might not be
-
Does anyone have any updates on Kenni Larsen? Haven't heard anything for ages
-
So with Ben Barker quitting Rye House, the question is, is he quitting the sport? Will Redcar have to find a new number 1 in the coming days? Why has Ben left Rye?
-
I can understand why people don't want to spend their money, it's their money, they do what they want with it If I really liked a drink, for example, and they changed the ingredients in the drink, and I didn't like it anymore, I wouldn't keep buying it just because it was my favourite before, I would stop, same theory applies for sports teams, music, just about anything, so I can see where these people are coming from, me however, I know I will still love watching the speedway on a Sunday night And think it's still worth the money
-
I don't watch it for free, and while I don't think the team will be competitive, I'm just glad to see a team out there for 2018 (If yet completely announced!!) I'm sure at many points during the season we'll have great rides to watch from the likes of Morris, Robbo and Wilko but I'm also sure that at some points the end of the season can't come soon enough, but I'm sure all Newport, Halifax, Hull etc... fans would love to be in our position right now I still keep my opinion though, we should have dropped to NL, even only for a year until we got our financial problems sorted, people said if we did crowds would drop, but it looks like they're going to anyway, going by what people are saying on here, a NL team of something like Ashley, Ruddick, Alfie, Danny, Hopwood(or wilko if he'd have fit), Embleton and Burton would have been nice to watch for a year, something different
